I signed up for the 6 month plan. I saw a few red flags with Dr Steele but decided to ignore them as I was desperate to focus on my health. She bragged about how she makes "a ton of money" which was highly unprofessional but I decided to focus on my health and ignore that. Once I was about a month or two in to my care plan I was trying to communicate with her that she throws so much information at me at me at once, I'm overwhelmed and don't understand everything. She assured me that it was just a trauma response and that she throws a lot of information at me on purpose so that I won't be able to understand it all, but that eventually it'll make sense. This sounded very odd to me but once again I told myself to focus on my health, and yo follow doctors orders. There's so many insane things to write about but I don't want this to be a novel. Fast forward to the end of the 6 months. She had still not addressed the health issues I came in for, just kept directing me to other things that cost me hundreds more. $2200 and almost a year later and my health issues haven't improved. I did everything she instructed me to do and still not one of her promises she made at the beginning were met. She doesn't like it if you ask questions about anything. I included screen shots of our last interaction. She went from telling me that she throws a lot of information at me on purpose so that I can't understand it, to telling me that some patients bring recorders or take notes. Her response was the most professional sounding F you I've ever read. This is not how you treat people, especially those who are under your care to better their health. I'm sad for the people who she ruined holistic health for and hope they still look for other doctors who actually care, I found a great one in the area thankfully. This was definitely an expensive lesson learned, after reading other negative reviews, I realized I had every single one of the same experiences with this doctor. I have been a patient of Dr. Steele for about 18 months and I have never felt better, and like my real self. She has helped me with anxiety and depression through diet, supplements and cleanses. I have gone to traditional therapy for 10 plus years and never had these breakthroughs. She's no bullshit but she has been very empathetic and healing for me. I worked with Dr.Steele for two years as a teenager. After six months of pure agony with a mysterious illness, I was recommended to Holistic Family Practice by a family friend. Dr.Steele was the first Doctor to listen fully to my concerns, name what happened to me and treat me correctly when no other doctor would listen to me. Through our time working together, there were many ups and downs. Moments of victory and others I felt completely broken down with my situation. No matter what, Dr. Steele was always there to assist me to the best of her ability. Now, Dr.Steele is not a hand holder, she makes you work hard for your own healing whether that is physical, mental or spiritual health (or all the above). There is no sugar coating or room for excuses with her, she tells you exactly how it is and helps you to navigate your own patterns and work towards wholeness within yourself. Dr.Steele's assertiveness can be shocking and off-putting to others, I know it was to me at first. But, in my experience, it was all out of love and care. I cannot tell you how many times I was angry at Dr.Steele for her honesty. But, after some reflection, I was able to pinpoint the pain, address the uncomfortable feelings and work through it with her. By doing so, I really started to see positive shifts within my health and emotional well-being. I learned a-lot about my comfort level, caring for my body, setting boundaries and how to stand up for myself and my health. I scheduled a appointment for the one hour consultation through a live agent. The first time I called to try and get pricing and book a appointment I was told I would be given a call back. A business day (Monday-Friday remember this part ) goes by no call so I call again and was told the same answer as the first day. I didn't get a call I received a text message from the live agent named Brian. Brian gave me the run down and told me the results for my blood work would take four months. I found it odd but I have been trying to find a holistic doctor for a while so why not try it. I get a link to create a new patient portal. I literally would click "start journey then choose my consultation time" it takes me right back to the home page. It is a weekend that I am registering because the automatic recording before talking to someone at the office says the hours for the live agents include weekends which is how I booked my appointment through Brian. So I text Brian my concerns, and typically he is good at responding. Not today, so I asked to cancel my appointment and still no response. I go on the website and look up the hours, my appointment was booked during a time that the business is closed. No call back, no reply, now you have booked me during your closing hours. It is screaming scam at this point. So the next day I get a reminder of my appointment at exactly 24 hours prior to my appointment. I'm not sure if it was automated or my live agent was ignoring me. So I contact the cell phone number of Steele to let her know my concerns and what was going on from her card she handed me herself. She replies to my text that it's her rest day and why am I texting her phone. I explained that I tried to cancel my appointment and my live agent wasn't responding although the voice recording to her office said they were open. She said contact her office on Monday the office is closed. So I go on yelp and read some horrific things about this office. I live FAR from their office I would have been upset coming to a closed office. However , Steele is not paying attention to what I am saying and states she is highly respected.... At that point you are confirming scam because I don't care about your lack of self actualization I need to know if this is a real business or not that I have given my address to to book with. So I told her and Brian not to contact me or I am going to the police. I still went to the police for safety reasons. Oh and I called the office again on that same Sunday and someone answered. How ironic right because the office is suppose to be closed. Moral of the story is please be honest on yelp to help people. Exactly what I read on yelp that day is what I had experienced. Waste of time and money. No receptionist you call someone and have to wait for someone to call you back which may or may not happen. Have to pay for labs and go somewhere else's to get them done and get charged again for the same thing by the hospital. Then after that no one got back to me. Dr Erica has the best tools to get you on your holistic goals. I suffered from alot of anxiety and with being diagnosed with two brain disorder that other doctors told me that I would be on medication for the rest of my life I felt defeated and wanted to give up. However, Dr. Erica has been patient and with love help me control my anxiety I've lost about 50lbs in a year and I love me!!! Dr. Steele was my father in law's Doctor through the end of his life. He was diagnosed with lung cancer that spread to his brain and bone. With a couple months to live he hired Dr Steele to be his naturopath. She showed up for all of his appointments with other Doctors and went out of her way to make sure he felt heard and understood in more ways than one. I took my mother here to get assistance with her lifestyle and I finally got her to agree after years of convincing. My mother and I spoke with the Dr. Steele and she seemed to have helped others in similar situations; my mother was excited. After the initial visit my mother contacted the office numerous times, they wouldn't return her calls, when they did staff were very disorganized with her information, and Dr. Steele was very rude! My mother ONLY received the one hour consultation out of the $200 "One Hour Consultation" package and I was never contacted to discuss the situation. Payment was taken and they ran with it. Granted my mother can be a little extra, this is one of the reasons why people go to get better. Worse part is I cant get her to try another holistic practice! Dr. Steele is absolutely amazing, she is so smart and very knowledgeable in many different areas. She truly cares about my daughter and her well being. I had some immediate concerns one evening and texted her to see if she was available. She called me within 10 minutes with honest concern and reassuring advice. I think many of these reviews are judging the wrong things for the wrong reasons. This is not a big hospital or clinic funded by millions of dollars in pharmaceutical products. It is a privately owned family practice and Dr. Steele is seeking to improve regularly. The staff is always accomedating and helpful. The most important thing about any medical practice is that they truly care, and Holistic Family Practice cares about what is best for you and your children. I reccomend it to everyone. read more

A person sitting at the front desk pointed me to an automated receptionist on a computer monitor. Then I learned that it was Dr. Erica Steele who had pointed to the monitor and failed to greet me. In the treatment room I was told to take my own photo and enter my medicines/dosages on a computer tablet, even though I am handicapped and cannot use one arm/hand to hold the device. When I said this, and offered a list I keep on my smart phone for this purpose, she said she didn't have time to do it and told me to return home and someone would call me to get the information and reschedule an appointment. She also referred to an email I didn't receive. I should note I arrived at 8:04 for an 8:00 AM appointment, because I couldn't easily find the converted house the practice is located in because of blocked roads and construction cones (admittedly not her fault).The facility is not handicapped accessible and had an untidy appearance, some of the equipment looked unclean. I left without getting my treatment. I have been to holistic acupuncture, salt spas, dry needling, massage, and reflexology clinics. This holistic practice is unlike any I have utilized and I would not recommend it to others. read more

I regrettably signed up for Erica's Steele's one year treatment plan. She informed me that she would work closely with my Doctor's, but she refused to work with them. I cannot refer to her as a Doctor, so I will call her Erica. She has an arrogance about her that is beyond the pale. Her lack of knowledge, empathy, and her unpredictability made her a bad choice for me. I wish I had read reviews. It was a very unpleasant experience. When I tried to communicate with Erica via text she told me that she would block me when I questioned her abilities to help me. Her famous line is..... I am a specialist in my field, and am very accomplished in my practice. That is what she texted me on Feb. 25, 2019. Erica had no interest in helping me. She could care less. If I asked her a question, she would get a look on her face as if I were offending her. She once snatched a piece of paper out of my hand that I was reading. It was a paper in a plastic holder on the wall in the room they draw blood in. I assumed it was okay to read. She told me to do my own Google search. I stopped going to see Erica before my year was up. I felt that I was not being helped and her bad attitude made it too unpleasant. There were different employees just about very time I went in. No one lasted long and I can understand why. I had to pay for the entire year. I recently got an invitation to attend a social gathering at Erica Steele's office, she purchased a skin tightening machine. I find it very odd that a person with all her degree's in health would get into the skin tightening business. Please read reviews before you sign up .
