I was told by the office manager, Emily, that it is the policy of Blackwood Family Medicine to not accept medicaid patients at certain times or to see said patients even if they have other insurances in addition to medicaid. This was after the front desk girl told me it was illegal for them not to run both. The office as a whole also is incapable of getting prescriptions correct or sending any kind of paperwork to literally anyone. Honestly you would be better off asking a homeless person to do your paperwork than these ladies.

They are never on time, there are problems checking in, the quality of care is not great - they just rush you through - very little care and concern is shown both for you as a person and whatever sickness you might have. I am very thankful I was able to find another PCM.

Was charged and not reimbursed deposit because I had to miss my appointment due to flight delays…read morebecause of a mechanical issue from the day before. Contacted the office 21 hours in advance as soon as I knew our flight was being pushed back 6 hours. Their response was "due to their policy my $200 deposit is forfeited." No consideration was given due to the unforeseen circumstances that were out of my control. Sent the office manager screenshots of my location so that she knew that I was not anywhere near the area. If this is how they treat their patients (and potential new patients), don't waste your time or money. Mind you I had two other appointments the same day with local small businesses that required deposits as well and the other two businesses carried over my deposit to the new appointments I made.

It came to a point where I relied on these meds too often, so I decided to try the 30 day gut health. She took the time to explain the process of the program, including possible hurdles, and what to expect. I completed the 30 day gut health and feel great already! Not only am I making better food choices, I no longer have issues with constipation/bloating and best of all, no more relying on meds. Now I look forward to completing the 6 week autoimmune protocol. Thank you so much Julie, for your commitment to helping me with my goal to improve my health naturally!!

I met with Dr Jayne Dabu for my initial consultation, she was very personable and thorough. And gave me a lot of hope they would be able to help me . My treatments have been with Dr Bayer and he has been fantastic. Again asking lots of questions. Very thorough. Has a very calming and encouraging way about him . Even Amanda at the front desk is super friendly and helpful . I am already feeling a difference after only a few treatments. And look forward to many more.

I paid the $97 and came in for my appointment and was told over the phone no paperwork necessary due to no insurance is accepted. The receptionist hands me a psychological paperwork ( the 30 minute questionnaire to complete asking you the SAME question just reworded several times!) I've been going to Virginia Spine Care for 3 weeks now for my degenerative disc disease. When I saw…read morenobody can figure out what's wrong with my spine or how to fix it, I mean NOBODY can figure it out. I came here in hopes to give decompression therapy a try -- couldn't hurt (or could it?) My experience from making the appointment all the way through leaving my appointment the first day was fantastic. The ladies at the front are so kind and helpful. My first visit, Dr. Jay and I talked about the series of procedures I've had on my spine, my pain levels, my lifestyle, etc., and he knew we had to try decompression therapy. Just a simple conversation with him had me feeling better about hopefully finding relief soon! The decompression table itself seems intimidating. But wow, it felt good! The theory behind it and how it works is pretty neat. From there I did the e-stim, which also felt great, but I think the water bed massage is my favorite. We finish off my appointments getting adjusted and stretched, which has always scared me because my back is so fragile, but they are the experts! I have yet to walk away regretting walking in! I'm looking forward to my continued care with Dr. Jay, and if you know someone who needs some spine care -- I definitely recommend giving him a try

I would highly recommend avoiding this practice at all costs. Kimberley Harris FNP just wrote a…read morefriend of mine a letter telling her she was being removed from the practice because she was told by a pharmacist to call their practice one evening due to the medication she was on. They accused her of being too much for their practice to handle as she had either emailed, called or was seen as a patient more times than they felt were necessary. " Seems they do not see patients with "chronic issues" and basically pushed my friend under the bus. This practice needs to be aware that they took an oath to do no harm to patients and that abandonment of a patient without allowing that patient to be secured with another practitioner is looked very down upon. Please know that this will be reported to the medical review board and you will have this on your profile as long as you treat patients. I will never see anyone at this office and anyone should be wary of this practice if they are deciding wether to see someone there or are already a patient. Apparently, if you require your doctor or such, they do not like to put in the time and will just kick you out.
