My review is for a consultation only. I'll explain…read more.. I was greeted warmly upon entering. Because they're located on Park Avenue, I kinda expected them to be snooty, lol. They really couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. I was assisted by Carlos who was cool as heck. I appreciate the fact that Carlos told me up front that the color in my tattoo would not come out (I have a 28 y.o. Nefertiti tat. Her crown is shaded in blue and there's also some red and green in her necklace). They could easily get the black ink out, but with the colors, the laser wouldn't be able to differentiate between the ink colors and my glorious melanin. So the laser might remove all of the color, including my glorious melanin, and leave me with a pale spot there (hypopigmentation). There's also be a possibility that the skin in that area would darken (hyperpigmentation). Carlos told me of a Complete Removal package for $1,790 where you go back every eight weeks (to give your skin time to heal in between treatments) until your tat is completely gone. I was also told of a $690 package...that I wasn't too interested in because, initially, I was going to take the Complete Removal package. Another Yelper has mentioned in their review of Removary that if the whole $1,790 is not used, you will be refunded the unused portion, which sounds awesome. I've decided to keep Queen Nefertiti with me. I came to that decision after watching videos of people with skin like mine share their stories. Before going in, I thought tattoo removal would be the same for all. If you Google, you'll see a lot of pics of tats completely removed from white skin with just a couple of Black folks sprinkled in. There's a reason for that. And the tats removed from Black skin are all black ink tats. If you're white, they can completely remove your tat; black AND colored ink. If you're Black, they can get black ink outta ya, but colored ink, not so much. There are a couple of videos on You Tube where Black gals have shared their tattoo removal stories. One in particular is very detailed and provides before and after photos. Here's the link.. https://youtu.be/g6vKaVDygi8 OH! I have to mention... There are a couple of videos on You Tube mentioning the PiQo4 and PicoSure lasers to completely remove tats from Black skin. However, those videos only make the claim. They do not show the results. After my consultation with Removary, I'd had another consultation at Disappearing Inc. Just for a consultation, they required a credit card number (if you cancel within 24 hrs, they charge you $50 for a weekday appt and $100 for a Saturday appt.) Once I was there, they also asked for I.D. When I asked what that was about, they gave me two excuses. Excuse #1: "it's for insurance purposes. We need to make sure the person who did their paperwork is the same as the one being treated." Do they really have THAT many people lying about who they are? Excuse #2: "It's just standard protocol because some choose to be treated during (the consultation)." Ok, but I never asked to be treated during mine.... Anywho, I prefer Removary because I didn't feel they were trying to bulls**t me. Nor were they condescending... Whoa, instead of talking about my dissapointing Disappearing Inc. experience here, lemme mosey on over to their page and leave it there. Anywho, if I had a recommend a tat removal spot, it would, hands down, be Removary!

My consultation was over Zoom, rep was 20 minutes late getting on and blamed me. Price was almost…read more$1000 higher than competitors, and there was no negotiating their price. In conclusion, I never even got to go to the facility, to do a full review the sales rep pushed me away as a customer.

Laser Away's "Hair Removal" services are a scam. I went here for my underarms and after the…read morerecommended 8 sessions my hair became long, scraggly, and thin... Like an old man's ear hairs. They didn't cease to exist. I asked the front desk and they told me there's no guarantee of hair removal like their website and signage suggests, rather that there's hair reduction. I didn't spend $$$$ for hair reduction. I have no intention of going back and will be continuing to wax my underarms going forward. I went through a traumatic experience shaving for them before every session (used to blood baths when shaving because I get severe hand spasms and cut myself instead). I really wish I had known this prior to booking but they are savvy saleswomen and want your $$$$. I feel misled and taken advantage of. If you or someone you know are considering this service, I would strongly recommend not using laser until the science has actually been perfected and proven to REMOVE hair instead of "reduce" hair. Happy shops!

I've been a loyal client of LaserAway and always appreciated the calm, professional environment,…read moreuntil recently. During a full body laser hair removal session on 4/27/25, someone knocked and immediately opened the door a without waiting for a response. I was completely exposed on the treatment table. It was shocking, humiliating, and a serious violation of privacy. I was told another nurse was trying to locate a laser machine. What was she gonna do, rollout the machine in the middle of my service if it was actually in fact in the room? That could've waited until my service was over!!! I reported the incident to Ashley, the manager, who said it would be investigated. In the interim, she offered me a free Hydrafacial session and said it would be placed on my profile in my app, which never happened! Weeks passed with no update. I followed up several times, only to be told that statements were taken from the employees involved in the incident, but still no resolution. Trying to reach Ashley directly became nearly impossible. Out of frustration, I contacted the Woodbury location (Ashley manages both locations) and the experience got worse. The first receptionist put me on hold for 7 minutes. When another receptionist, Paige, picked up, she was rude and dismissive. She even argued with me over how long I had been on hold, saying it was only 6 minutes not 7, and then said "I'm going to placed you on another brief hold", which turned into another 45 minutes. The level of unprofessionalism was unbelievable. Ashley never came to the phone or even try to make an attempt to contact me. I've called corporate 3 times now with no resolution. I still have prepaid sessions remaining, money I've already spent ( for laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal ) but I no longer feel comfortable or safe returning to either the Garden City or Woodbury locations. Ashley's handling of the situation has been completely unacceptable. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've spent close to $10,000 at LaserAway and referred friends and family because I used to trust this company. As a combat veteran whom recently came home, I wanted to do something nice and rewarding for myself and instead, I've been met with disrespect and negligence. They don't even offer a military discount or show any regard for clients who have served their country. In addition, businesses have capabilities to delete reviews or control profiles when leaving reviews. I had to edit a previous positive review I left months ago in order to leave this one!!!! You can see their response to my previous review down below from 5months ago! This experience has been deeply frustrating. Loyal clients who invest their money, time, and referrals deserve better. LaserAway has completely failed me.
