Review of New Sagaya City Market - Anchorage, Alaska…read more Five weeks ago, I moved from San Francisco to Anchorage, settling near the downtown area. One of my first missions was to find a coffee spot that felt like home--a place with not just great coffee, but genuine people behind the counter. After trying a handful of cafes, a neighbor suggested New Sagaya City Market, just two blocks from my house. What a win. The market itself offers high-end, quality products. Yes, prices are a bit higher than what you'd find at Walmart or Target, but coming from San Francisco, I was prepared for that. What truly sets this place apart, though, isn't just the products--it's the people. From the very beginning, the baristas here have shown me the most consistent and heartfelt customer service I've experienced since moving to Anchorage. They don't just serve coffee; they connect with you, listen to your stories, and make you feel like part of the community. Today was a perfect example. I slipped in the parking lot (rookie mistake--no spikes on my shoes for the icy ground). After two kind gentlemen helped me up, I walked inside with my spilled coffee. Annie, a new barista I hadn't met before, immediately offered me a fresh cup with such kindness and care. That small gesture meant so much--it wasn't just about the coffee, it was about feeling seen and supported. I also want to shout out Monica and Shea, who I met when I first arrived five weeks ago. They've been consistently amazing--funny, charming, and genuinely interested in conversations about life, community, and even my adventures back in San Francisco. Every time I come in, I leave feeling lighter, happier, and more connected. Thank you, Annie, Monica, and Shea, for making New Sagaya City Market my go-to coffee spot. You've given me more than great coffee--you've given me a sense of belonging in a new city. --- Would you like me to make this version short and punchy for Google/Yelp reviews, or keep it longer and more storytelling-focused for something like a blog or social post?

No problem, check the Walgreens website. There are five stores near me that have them in stock. Sometimes websites have the wrong stocking numbers, so I decide to call and verify. I make the call to the Walgreens at 725 E Northern Lights. I speak with four people, including the manager. They cannot locate the test, even though I tell them what shows on the website. Again, I am told they do not have ANY, and it is only available by ordering online. I make an additional call to another Walgreens at 1470 W Northern Lights. I speak to one person and share what the website lists as available. I am pleasantly told she will verify. She returns and shares that they have TWO kits in stock. Great, problem solved. Since I must drive past the first Walgreens that said they don't have any, I decide to stop and check for myself. EUREKA, THEY HAVE NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT... FIVE BOXES! I take two of the boxes, head to the cashier and ask for the manager. The manager is stunned and asked where I found them. Of course, on the shelf labeled for it in the Diabetes Supple section. Then she asked if they were "pushed back" out of sight. I tell her they were not, they were right at the very front edge...right where they're supposed to be! Obviously the staff and MANAGER need retraining. I'm assuming they can read and recognize the 7.5 inch x 4 inch purple box I described to them alongside all the other diabetic supplies! In these COVID-19 times, managers of pharmacies really need to know what is stocked in their stores. Patients depend on them. An A1C test is essential for monitoring diabetes.

I told her I called here last night and she said yes. Then other lady came and she said she can do it but it will take a moment to start up. And she said it was ok yesterday because we had enough people working but not today. Anyway I got my passport picture but she looked so annoyed that she had to do picture.... I saw maybe 2-3 customers and 3 employees at the time. If they want to have a good business they need to be helpful and friendly.
