Marshall and Hamline station no coffee for three weeks , Student at nearby college everyone is complaining

I drove in, filled my gas and got out. I had a hassle free experience today while I got here to fill gas. This place had a lot of gas refill stations and since this was situated right at the junction of Marshall Avenue, there was a constant influx of vehicles driving in to fill gas. There was also a car wash right next to the Stationstore and was busy as well with two cars being served at one point. The price was competitively less and the electronics was spot on. I didn't get a chance to check out the stationstore but it seemed nice from outside. The place could have some work done on the side curbs as they seemed broken and had to reverse and take my car out to miss from them damaging my car. This place is definitely one that you can show up at any time of the day for its neat service. read more

Rarely do the pumps printers work when buying a car wash and you need the code. Completely negates paying at the pump to avoid having to go in to store. This has been like this for years. read more

I've NEVER had anyone be so rude to be. The black woman working Friday the 22nd at 5pm. I told them it wasn't a big deal but your sign says $9 and change for a 12 pack of Coke and it rang up as $10 and change. The nice white girl working the register said I'll help no problem. The black woman goes "oh no you won't" and goes off saying how I'm wrong and that's with tax. I showed her the sign and still, keeps arguing and being my super rude. I slowly explained that tax is added with the total, not to each individual item. It wasn't a big deal, maybe 50 cents, but, I've NEVER had anyone be so rude to me checking out and handing a cashier money. I will never return to a holiday gas station again! This place is always competitive in gas pricing. Sure the place is busy but for the most part, it is pretty easy to fill up. Plus they offer FREE air. Not many places do that and when they do, I'm like, you're cool. But let's talk about what matters most. Their touch free car wash. The place offers two bays and if there is a line, you will be waiting because each wash is about 4-6 minutes long so you are getting a decent wash. But what I like, especially in these salty winter months is that they have and all you can wash monthly option. I did the Works Wash, typically $9 a pop ($8 w/gas) for $29.99 a month. You get a skinny little bar code strip on your windshield and you are good to go. I mean really. Good to go. No going inside. No getting a paper receipt. Drive up. It reads your code. Wait for it to register on the machine, push your option and go in for your wash. I've used it 4 times already in the short time I've had it and one day I used it twice because I was driving around and saw no line. In addition, I get to use this at pretty much any Holiday with a car wash. Sure there are some that aren't touch free (maybe 10%?) but the little disco info card they gave me indicated 125 stations in the upper midwest. How cool is that? Anyway, I need to quit typing and hop back into my clean whip and get out Yelping. read more

I use this gas station a majority if the time because it's in a nice location - near the interstate and on my way home. Today, I saw something really cool here though. One of the clerks was helping an older lady back to her car. Full-on held her arm, opened the door, made sure she was buckled in, and the door was securely closed. I know those clerks don't make much over minimum wage but it shows the level of class the employees here have. I'm definitely making this my go-to gas station of choice. read more

I don't think I've been inside this Holiday Store yet, I've actually only used for the Car Wash. Like Steve T had mentioned, I have Holiday's monthly car wash program - - they auto-withdraw $32.32 ea month - - so I try to get at least 4 of the car washes ea month to get my value. And I definitely think I'm getting 4+ in these dirty, grimy, and salty winter months. But.... there might be two Holiday Car Washes that are closer to me, but I end up driving a bit out of my way to go to this one. It's one of the few that I've seen that has the TWO CAR WASH BAYS (also like Steve T mentioned). That makes a HUGE deal when it's a Saturday afternoon, and everyone is getting their car wash. It does get kinda wonky with the car wash line though. Meaning, that it kinda wraps all around the store and the gas pumps. The other thing that I like about this car wash, is that they're open later than other Holiday car washes. For example, I think I washed my car one night around 10:30pm! The wash itself.... not bad. Their large dryers don't completely get everything drip free - - so you'll probably want to wipe things down again afterwards. (But in these freezing months, I just let it go. Too cold to be wiping down my car.) read more

I come for the off-peak wintertime car washes, and for that, I buy also their gasoline, and all has been seamless. Maybe not the best car wash, but location & hours are very convenient for me. Otherwise, I tend to go elsewhere for gasoline. Never need to enter their shops, so I cannot comment there. read more

Back when this was Tracy Oil and I drove a big American V8, I'd come here for the "racing gas" in the special pump. In the less distant past, I'd take the RV here to fill up the propane tanks. Nowadays, I've become a regular since I have the lovely Cub fuel rewards card. Cub is right up the street, so I hit the grocery then stop here on the way home. The location is what brings me here, and it seems as I am not alone, as it is always crazy busy. This can make for some interesting traffic patterns and long waits at the pumps. So, if I pay $9 for the works car wash shouldn't my car be clean? The most pleasing answer would be yes, but unfortunately this is not the case. The car wash basically sprinkles water on your vehicle, a little soap, and the worst dryer ever. I used this particular car wash several times and have had the same result. A wet car..... My mother says that the definition of stupidity is "doing the same thing and expecting different results." Well, I guess I'm STUPID. Here's the deal this is one of the only car washes in the area, so if you are in desperate need of a car wash and this is your only option, change your mind and do it yourself. I promise you get better results. P.S. If you think you're saving time by going here your not. It literally takes 30 minutes for them to spray your car with water and food colored soap. Lastly, this is only a review of the car wash. I've never had a problem with the store. read more

This place I was employed at and I put in a request to be transferred to another location here in the cities, but to find myself out of employment because the store I came from didn't put in my transfer and now the company is saying that I quit my position when that is far from it,,,, plus I called the corporate office and still haven't received a call back regarding my employment with holiday. So if you work here is suggest making sure you don't try transferring to another location cause they'll say you quit but in all honesty they wrongfully terminated me from the company!!!!! read more

holiday stations have always been bad for one reason or another. dirty stores, filthy bathrooms, rude discourteous people, way over priced items. i rarely use holiday but this one on the corner of snelling and county rd c was convenient. well it wasn't. the pump was ridiculously slow dispensing fuel. i told the discourteous man and his explanation was that all the pumps were being used. when my car was the only one getting gas it was still slow. my tank was a quarter full and it took 8.5 gallons to fill it. that car NEVER took 8.5 gallons even when almost empty. the rude people inside insisted the pump was working correctly. i have proof they are over charging for gas. DO NOT USE HOLIDAY GAS STATIONS. read more

OK, I like Holiday and go to 1 of 2 stations for gas and goodies. Their gas prices are what ever SA tells them to sell it at. If you watch the prices closely, you will notice SA and Holiday prices are the same in the same neighborhood. I was in this neighborhood recently and noticed the price of gas to be 18 cents cheaper then what it was in my neighborhood earlier that day. I was getting near a 1/4 tank so I thought I may as well fill up and save that 18 cents today. That went well. No issues there. But big problem. My bladder was full. Went inside to use the men's room. OK, nothing wrong there either. Clean, urinal worked. Then I go to wash my hands. Soap is available, hot water was available. But the towel rack was empty!!! I found a stack of towels to use. OK, I suppose. Then I read a sign that said something to the effect of we want this to be what you expect. If you see anything wrong, please notify the manager. EXCUSE ME. Something needs attention in the restroom and you want me to tell you. OK, I will. But then you damn well do what ever I tell you to do about the restroom. And I know that will not happen. Do not ask CUSTOMERS to tell you the restroom needs attention. Big no-no in my book of Management 101. I am not so angry I will not go their again. And not so angry, I will recommend others not go either. But for the love of god, do not ask customers to help you do your job. read more

Coming home from seeing Bruise Violet at the turf club my bikes battery was dead. Luckily I popped started on a hill. What luck my gas light came on. Pulled into the holiday filled up and not enough charge to start again. The cashier came out and helped me try to pop start it but no luck then they gave me a jump. I wish I would have got their name to give them big props here but whoever you were thank you. Thanks for being a great person and my new favorite gas station. read more

I've been coming here for about 5 years and finally got sold on the car wash pass- unlimited for $30/ month. Unfort I usually drive here to get a car wash and have to leave because one of the two is always closed making it a 6-9 car wait. If both were always operational it would be worth the pass but since I leave half the time without a wash I'd think twice before recommending it. read more

This incident was also reported over the phone to Pamra who is the customer service representative at the corporate office. On Friday, February 22nd, 2019 at the hours of 0800. I was at the Holiday gas station on Marshall Ave in Saint Paul. I did my usual routine, no different from the past three years I have been there. I went to the coffee machine and on some occasions, the creamer runs out, which is typical at this location. However, on this day, I went over to the cashier and explained to her that the caramel macchiato cream was out and needed a refill. The cashier in the rudest most distressfull tone yelled at me and said, "we don't have cream". I went to the back of the store where the coffee machine is located and continuously processed what just occurred. I grabbed my 24oz cup of coffee and watched another male white customer ask the same thing and received a refill for the cream I was asking about. Knowing what just had occurred, I calmly took my cup of coffee to the front register and asked the male employee "wright" for the corporate number and the other employee name. He explained to me that he is the manager and that I do not need to contact the corporate office. I explained to him the entire incident and continued to ask for the corporate number and employee name. He yelled at me and took my cup coffee in the process and said I was trespass from the property. I complied and left as there were other customers in line and felt that this was not the right time or place to express my dissatisfaction. I have been going to this holiday store since 2013 and have seen many employees and manager in the process. Never have I ever encountered such rude, unfriendly, and "racist" employees. However, I will not let this incident change my perspective of holiday stores overall. This is one incident that I hope corporate can deal with. 1 of 2 car washes is always out of order leading to looonnnng lines. And there's a huge pothole in the car wash line that you really can't avoid. If you're this busy, keep your facilities maintained! read more
