They charge that same $1.50 for full size pick-ups and SUVs, and, I'm supposing, real FULL SIZE vans. That up-charge should ONLY apply to real FULL SIZE vehicles. Considering the fact that the employees also have a container put out for tips, I'd rather give the hardworking employees my $1.50 at the other end, but I have to spend it on that bogus up-charge.

Mike was responsive (even during off hours!), upfront, and offered a generous trade-in value based on the info I gave him (ahead of time), pending seeing the vehicle in person. There was a part of me that was anxious we would drive all that way only to have them say sorry, your vehicle is not as nice so the trade in value is less (based on other dealership experiences- kind of a bait and switch). Ahead of time, we had a purchase agreement tentatively figured out... When we got there, Mike confirmed the generous trade in amount he had offered, and because we had been able to work things out in advance, we were able to drive off the lot with the updated vehicle in less than an hour. It is clear to me that he takes pride in the reputation of the dealership and makes every effort to live up to that Reliable name. Really good suction, so be careful you don't vacuum up something unintentionally- I lost a cheap pair of sunglasses and a couple pens. It's not touchless, so if I had a really nice car and was worried about paint scratches I would go elsewhere, but for my little Kia, the brushes are better at taking dirt off, so I'm ok with it. I guess I might consider a monthly plan in the winter to keep the salt and rust to a minimum - if you do that math it makes sense if you wash more than 3 times per month. The guy at the entrance assumes you are an idiot and don't know to put the car in neutral, but I still toss a couple of bucks in the tip box. Whatcha gonna do?

The *ding ding* would sound off - a car just drove over that bell-tube-thing!!! He would jump up, run out the side door and fuel somebody up, clean their windshield and offer to check their oil, even when it was about 2 degrees fahrenheit (don't even ask about the windchill factor). See, Spidey Legs owned and operated this station and was the only one around for miles who would stay open on the Holidays. God Rest His Soul. Back in those days, the station itself was greasy, dirty, as a gas station should be. There was a soda bottle vending machine inside. Coke only, b/c Spidey Legs hated pepsi. These days, it's owned / operated by Spidey Legs' son and grandson and its now a BP, complete with minimart, etc. and I'm sure they carry pepsi products. And I just checked fuelmeup.com - the lowest gas price in the area. Yay.
