Checked in at 3 p.m., but our room wasn't ready. No biggie. We just had some time to hang out in the comfortable lobby with the free wi-fi for 30 minutes or so. Our room was on the second floor--a huge corner room. It was probably bigger than my first apartment. The room (linens in particular) could use some upgrades, though. They felt a little worn-out or old. Breakfast had an assortment of the usual, including their famous cinnamon roll. I had some oatmeal and a banana. It's free, so you gotta eat something. Cookies and milk were served at 7 p.m. The cookies were pretty good, and the smell made the lobby so inviting. read more

This is a typical Holiday Inn Express. It is relatively new (2019) and so it still looks fairly fresh. The rooms are fine. The parking is spacious. The breakfast is typical for a Holiday Inn Express. The people at the front desk are pleasant. It is close to downtown. The rooms are cheap, most of the time. Hot Mama's Espresso is right out front. It is right off the freeway. The lobby is inviting. The pool is small. The exercise room is open 24 hours. Their coffee is hot. They have cookies every evening. read more

Very pared back service due to Covid, but still a great stay, minus the stingy Keurig coffee situation. Really comfortable, nice room. Very clean. Very quiet. Since every single amenity is closed you'd think they'd try to make up for it in the little things. But no. We had 2 Kcups each for the Keurig, there were only two of us, and ONE small packet of powder creamer. That felt very Motel 6. Bathroom smells like mole or a dirty mop. The air conditioner in our room was crazy loud. And the air conditioner in the room directly behind our heads in the next room was so loud that it shook the wall. When the front desk was called they wouldn't move us. I booked a room with 2 queens on Expedia with no problems. The young man who checked me in was efficient and informative. I informed him I had brought my dog and was aware of the additional fee. Upon entering the room everything seemed to be in order. Keurig coffee maker, nice TV, nice beds. We watched TV for a short time and decided to go out to grab some take out to bring back to the hotel. After eating, I took a shower and while I was toweling off, I noticed a dark green stain along the inside edge of the toilet seat. After raising the seat, I could see it wasn't a stain. I don't know what it was but it was gross. I noticed dried drizzles of urine on the underside of the toilet seat. I cleaned the toilet myself after seeing this. After this happened, I accidently spilled some soda pop on the carpet. I got a hand towel to clean the spot. After cleaning the small spot the hand towel was filthy. As I looked around, I realized the entire carpet was just plain dirty with some dark brown spots scattered about. I scrubbed the hand towel until there was no dirt left on it. As far as the carpet, I hope there are plans to shampoo it. However, the toilet seat having bodily waste on it is absolutely unacceptable. read more

So my family was roaming around everywhere to get a place to stay. We should have definitely called in before hand. But it is what it is. We called here and the service was quick and very responsive as well as very friendly. Unlike the other nearby areas. The gentleman on the line was very helpful and patient. The room was very nice and accommodating and there was also a complementary breakfast in the morning which was good as well! We also have a puppy who came with us on the road trip and for only $20 we were able to have him with us. The place was clean and what we wanted for the night. My owners brought me here for a getaway weekend. I was immediately met in the lobby by a very nice fellow who gave me a tastey Milkbone snack, my favorite. The floors were all very clean and smelled great. The room was a nice size and we were not crowded. The toilet water was nicely chilled and clear. That night I slept in a huge cushy chair that was more comfortable that the one I have at home. Outside there was a nice place for me to "do my business" and smell who else was around. I did not meet any other dogs in the hotel, but there were plenty of friendly kids at breakfast with sticky fingers to lick. I had some great French food in a doggy bag and I would highly recommend whatever resturant it came from. There was a nice lake nearby to swim in (for some reason my masters didn't let me in the pool, I was well behaved and don't think I did anything wrong). The only weird thing all weekend was my master kept trying to get rid of his ball and I had to keep getting it for him. Dude, it's YOUR ball!! I would give the place 5 paws up. read more

We had a very pleasant stay over the Labor Day Weekend. Even though it was probably one of the busiest, the service was friendly. Morning breakfast was good and it was fun to schmooz with other guests. Place is dog friendly and a pretty trail along Mill Creek makes it even better. I stayed here on business. Comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff members were helpful and friendly. There was a standard HI breakfast. My room had a small refrigerator and microwave. Overall met expectations. It was a much better experience than the MW in town. One small drawback was that it isn't right in town so I needed yo drive in for dinner. There aren't many choices near the hotel but overall a good experience and I will use this as my regular spot when on business in W2! read more

3.5-stars. My fiancé and I used this hotel as a base for a wonderful wine-tasting weekend. A clean, new(ish) Holiday Inn Express in the heart of WA wine-tasting country. Pros: free 'breakfast', clean, central location to a number of wineries (vehicle), decent pricing with aggressive and proactive discount travel reservation. Cons: location is not walkable to anything, empty cupboards in faux-kitchenette, weird clunking sounds a night--apparently coming from the mini-fridge, free wifi that cuts out every 30 seconds, non-functional cardio machines in the gym. read more

We arrived at 3:00 p.m. To check in on a Tuesday. The front desk person said that they were booked, and although we reserved a king bed there was not one for us. She insisted all she had to offer us was two queens. We asked for the manager, and were told we could wait for her to return but there would not be anything she could do because our room was prepaid through Expedia. So we sat in the lobby and waited, during which time no other customers checked in or out. We waited twenty minutes for the manager to return from the bank, and within about three minutes of her coming in, the manager "found" a king bed for us. Basically, this deceptive switch and bait approach just reduces the service to fraud. If they gave what we paid for, then try to get us to take something less, then offer it back,... It's just dishonesty plain and simple. In the morning... Breakfast is microwaved eggs and turkey sausage, cereal, muffins, coffee and FOX NEWS on the flat screen. read more

I've never lived anywhere but major cities. I came here to visit family and ignorantly assumed I could simply call for a taxi or book an Uber for my flight back. Apparently it's a small enough town that you really need to make your arrangements in advance. The staff at the Holiday Inn Express went above and beyond to help me get to the airport. Really just stunning kindness compared to what I'm used to dealing with. I booked a room for 2 for 10-01-19 online through expedia. I paid $90 for the room. When a confirmation email was returned it stated 10-13-19 as my check in date. I immediately called the hotel to change the date. I was told that since the booking was through a 3rd party, expedia, that it couldn't be changed. On 10-01-19 we stopped by holiday inn express to see if they had a room and they did. They still wouldn't change our reservation. Consequently we were cheated out of $90 by holiday inn express and expedia. We won't stay at holiday inn express again or use expedia. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Walla Walla on Sept 3rd, my birthday. The room was very spacious and clean. Everything had been recently updated. The bathroom was big and had many grab bars around the tub and toilet. That extra feature was a pleasant surprise. The bed was very comfortable. In fact, Cliff slept 12 hours. The breakfast was very good as well. It was also good to have the Keurig in the room so Cliff didn't miss out on his morning cup of coffee. read more

First time staying here, in town for a quick business trip. Very clean rooms, exceptional service from the front desk clerk Ericka. When I checked in and told her I didn't have a car she gave me several suggestions for delivery food for my dinner. When my TV wouldn't work I called the front desk and she was here in under 3 minutes, and fixed it right away. Friendly, helpful staff; clean, modern rooms; speedy wi-fi; large flat screen LG TV; updated tiled showers; and firm comfortable beds! All at a reasonable price. read more

Not the hotel for a visit to Walla Walla wineries. The hotel is located a fair ways out of town close to the prison and next to the highway. While it is newer and generally relatively clean, it is already starting to show some age with grime in the corners of the room, rusty refrigerator, and exterior key locks that didn't work. I would overlook these shortcomings in a $60-70/night motel, but am less forgiving when I am paying over $150/night. read more

Front desk said they called and no one picked up, unsure if they actually called or not. Must be very little insulation or a giant was in the room above me. We booked a King room as we were spending a special getaway weekend. Called the night before to confirm our reservation and was assured everything was all set. When we entered our room it was two queen beds instead of a king. When I called the front desk they were no help. They said they did not have a king room even though we reserved it and held it with our credit card. They made no attempt to make it right, but did offer a disingenuous apology. When asked why they did not inform us at check in, they mumbled a bit and offered the same weak apology. Other than terrible service the room was nice and clean and the breakfast was pretty good. At checkout I was asked how my stay was. I told them I was disappointed and why, thinking perhaps it would make a difference, nope, same disingenuous apology. I suspect this is the exampled set by the manager who was unavailable during my stay. Will not stay here again. read more

The maid help was not very good on this visit! Was here for 7 days and two of the day's did not leave more coffee! had to get from front desk! Busy week for them and kids running up and down the hall. Generally use this chain a lot, don't know about next trip to Walla Walla! Try a different spot! read more
