The rooms are recently redone, very clean. The staff is fantastic, breakfast was par for Hampton Inn, and great location. Bed was super comfortable, bathroom is clean the breakfast area sat plenty of people with lots of room to work when needed and hot breakfast as well as call breakfast available like most Hamptons. The property is easy access on and off the freeway to head north or over to battleship Row, and what they're saying is a predominantly Portuguese area. Lots of restaurants to choose from and lucky I was here in March when the weather was super nice. Got great price points even have the snack bar with beer drinks necessities everything I expect out of a Hilton. Highly recommend.

My mother worked with Donna Souza who was very efficient and made the planning easy. She walked us through the process of reserving a block of rooms for the wedding guests, and was very clear and responsive with advice, timelines, deposits needed, and cancellation policies. She also handled our special request to pay for us to cover the cost of certain guests' rooms. Everything went smoothly and we would definitely recommend working with Donna again. The hotel is easy to find and has ample parking in a private lot. The hotel is also handicap accessible and we had no issues for our guest who uses a wheelchair. The booking and check in process was easy for us and our guests. Rooms were small and simple but also clean and comfortable. There were privacy as well as black out curtains on the windows, a small wardrobe, a desk with a rolling chair, TV, microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, and chests of drawers. Water pressure in the shower was excellent and required almost no wait time to heat up. We very much liked the full-sized soaps, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, although some were very low on product upon check in. Would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Westport.

We learned the true story and history of Lizzie Borden for 90 minutes. He did not rush our group, he answered questions, and added some extra fun into the experience. The Lizzie Borden House is extremely well maintained. We did not stay overnight but still had a great time. The gift shop is truly unique and everyone we encountered there was welcoming and interesting. If you are in New England and looking for something to do, this should go to the top of your list! 10/10!!

But that is an option for you if you'd like to stay in a haunted house. Our tour was fabulous. Larry spent over an hour walking us through the various rooms of the property, explaining the events leading up to and after the murders, explaining the family dynamic, the comings and goings of neighbors and then the trial itself. Beyond that, the life she lived after her acquittal. Details and side stories and lots of drama. Just a tremendous time and I can't recommend it highly enough. This is a fabulous time in American history. And yes, they have a complete gift shop in the back. Book ahead for the tour, or you can just show up at the gift shop any time. As to "Is it haunted?" I will say that we did not see or encounter anything on the tour but it does seem strange that every cup of coffee we had since then has been flavorless. No correlation but... strange. Kitchenette was fully equipped with everything you could need. We needed a larger pot for chili and front desk had one in their inventory. No pressure to return it after usage. The closet in the room held a ton of luggage comfortably and made the room spacious after arrival. Breakfast was good. Not once did I see items not available day after day. I like to get a little creative with my breakfast. There's lots of toppings for your oatmeal, waffle maker, pork sausage patties & turkey links, bacon, frittata, boiled eggs, salsa, condiments, breads, cold cereal, juices, coffee with flavored creamers, butter, peanut butter, jelly, and cream cheese. There's soy milk, skim, whole milk, and yogurt. Room was exceptionally clean. I didn't see any bugs inside the room nor any used items from prior guests. Only spiders outside the window at night but hey they're outside living their lives. There's a heated pool which a lot of guests were thrilled to used during fall months. There's a small outdoor sitting area with firepit. Convenience food available 24/7 to purchase and complimentary coffee in the breakroom. 24/7 Gym is equipped with fresh towels, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, weighing scale, water refill for your tumbler, flatscreen TV, 1 Peloton, 5 treadmills, free weights, mats, stretch training bungees, and medicine balls. Guests self-laundry is $4 for washing and $4 for drying. Cleaning staff is friendly, very thorough, and fast. Relatively clean for the price point and an adequate breakfast with good coffee. The first day they failed to service the room at all. I don't mind reusing the towels but the room was so damp they did not dry. So off to the desk where a flustered desk clerk scrounged clean towels from the laundry room. The second day they serviced the room (we specifically requested it), but we arrived back in the room at 10 pm to find they had taken away the dirty towels but not left clean bath towels. The front desk clerk, nearly in tears, explained she only had one clean towel and gave it to us. I went to the laundry room myself and scrounged some clean bath mats to use at towels. Indeed at ten am the third day when we left the hotel, we asked and were told that the towels "were still in the dryer." In what world is it acceptable for even a budget hotel to leave guests with NO bath towels? This was a failure on the part of the housekeeping manager to have appropriate systems in place and be sure they are followed. And someone should have stayed late to finish the load of towels. And the hotel should always have 50-100 spare towels. Terrible customer service. Worst of all, when we arrived, we found a pair of men's underwear that did not belong to us in the floor of the closet. And the hotel had some unsightliness. A second floor room that was storage for spare furniture had no window covering and the light was left on, so it looked like a junked up mess visible to all at night. Also the curtains in the laundry room were tied off in a knit and similarly visible to anyone outside the hotel. And dehumidifiers in the first floor hallways. All this implies a hotel badly in need of maintenance and an overhaul in management. Not what we expect of IHG properties. We come to this area regularly to visit family, but we will never stay here again.

This hotel wasn't perfect-it's a roadside motel off a busy route, but it served it's purpose of a clean and comfortable room for a night's sleep. The room was very spacious and came with a mini fridge. The only major criticism I have is the tub was very old looking with peeling paint. I didn't shower, but my boyfriend said the tub drained poorly and water collected quickly and submerged his feet. For around $70, I am pleased with the price and quality of this hotel. I wanted to write a review to show that this motel is just fine to stay at.
