Typical good hotel, what you expect from Holiday Inn. Clean, orderly, expected layout that you will find in this line from HI's Express brand. The parking lot was litter free and there was parking under the portico at time of arrival and departure. I am highly frustrated when I arrive at a hotel, and the hotel staff or others have parked as if it's long term (homesteading) parking. It's not. This was NOT the case at this hotel; they understand the care and feeding of the customer. Oh, so refreshing. Why no litter? There are 2 camouflaged cans near the entrance for our use as we're unloading our vehicle. Yes, there was a dolly for out use in the lobby area. Staff was helpful and attentive. Morning breakfast was good, and the breakfast staff was attentive to the guests and the levels of food available. The location is centrally located near a Walmart, fuel stations, most oft used travel routes, etc. Suggestions: add towel hanging hooks in the bathroom, a/c system is a bit wonky, while the elevator is overly spacious it is a bit slow (which enabled me to use the stairs), ask the customer if they'd like a room with shower only or shower/bath combo bathroom, and finally ... the sheets. Please upgrade the sheets to a higher quality. The pillows are good, the sheets not so much. read more

If you have to stay in Eunice, you will probably stay here. I have been to Eunice two or three times in the past couple of years. I stayed here every time. Why? Because there aren't many hotels in town. This may even be the only one. Does that mean it's bad? Nope. In fact, I am kind of surprised by the negative reviews. My experience has been that this is a decent place to stay. The Holiday Inn Express chain used to be my go-to travel hotel. Clean, free breakfast and reasonable rates were the norm. The chain has dropped significantly since I first started staying in them years ago. Now they are overrun with traveling workers. Almost every location I used to visit is packed with them, and their trucks, and they have made a family hotel less family friendly. It is not that they are obscene but I no longer want to fight for parking and deal with all that they bring to the chain. Although the chain has fallen off in recent years, this location was clean and had few people when I visited. Yes, there were giant work trucks but the hotel wasn't full. Breakfast was OK but the main benefit was the coffee. The room was clean and decent. I opted for a suite so I had a little extra room. Who manages this place???? Is there even a manager?? After driving over 3 hours the last thing I want to be faced with is a dirty room. All I wanted to do was relax...but due to the laziness and inconsideration of house keeping I was forced to go over to dollar general and get cleaning supplies to clean my own room. The carpet was stained, Kleenex box was soiled with a sticky substance, the toilet had butt hairs on it, the tub had hair in it, and the wall had black smudge marks. Oh and no toilet paper...we went downstairs and informed the staff member of our findings. "We only had one room service guy working today, all the rest called in...." Ok whatever, can we have another room please?....2nd room wasn't much better, stained carpet, open bar of soap in the shower, sink full of hair, mirror looks like it's been cleaned with a mop..etc etc....I could go on forever. This hotel is poorly managed and not well taken care of. Halls weren't swept, elevator walls and floors are dirty. You can really tell that they don't care...simple as that. If I wanted a 1 star hotel I would have paid 1 star money...$126/night to sleep in this filth was a rip off! read more

All I can say is don't stay here. Management is terrible. I booked a room at this hotel on 10/2/2022 for my nephew's wedding. On the drive to Eunice on 10/29/22, the day of the wedding , I get a call from the hotel. The person who called me said her name was Nivea. She told me they over booked us and that she was not going to charge my card. I asked how could this happen? She told me she was sorry and that there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to her manager. She eventually answered the phone. She stated the same thing to me. I said this was not acceptable. How can this happen? I asked her for her name. She hung up on me. Seriously, hung up. I called back and Nivea answered the phone. I asked her what was her managers name. She told me it was Lori. I could not get the last name. She would not give it to me. Now, you would think if you made a mistake like this there would be some sort of help going forward. There was none here. Lori should be demoted. This is not conduct that is professional. I would not stay here. I should have read the reviews. They are very clear that this place needs some help. Hopefully this gets some attention. Read it before you decide to book here. Last week we had guest ministers in town. We had their hotel room booked here months in advance. We get there to a disgustingly dirty room. Fresh sheets were given to US To change. In the first room there was broken glass all along side of the dirty refrigerator. The room was disgusting, the bathtub was full of hair and the toilet had fecal matter. We were given a 2nd room right next door where the bathroom was even worse. Finally, we were told to try a room on the first floor because those are usually cleaned better. The room was cleaner and had a newer refrigerator. Upon further inspection, we see that one of the beds had been slept in and the sheets were never changed. As a matter of fact, the top sheet was still rolled back underneath the duvet that did not even have a cover on it, and was all torn to pieces. They offered us another set of sheets, but again said we would have to be the ones to change them. The management admitted that the bed was slept in, but never changed. Finally, we asked that our reservation be canceled and thankfully we were able to find a much nicer Airbnb to put our guests in. We sincerely hope that Eunice works toward getting a much nicer hotel in the very near future. read more

This hotel was nice but we were in two separate rooms and both were riddled with mold ... which makes me question the overall cleanliness of the rooms. They do a great job keeping the lobby clean so a great first impression is made, but watch our! We arrived late in the evening. The woman on the night shift was nice and courteous and quickly moved us to a second room once we discovered the mold issues in the bathroom. The second room also had mold but we were so exhausted that we just said screw it let's go to bed. The next morning we complained to Manny the manager who offers to put us in another room. How many rooms must one go through to get a clean bathroom? Manny's response to our concerns were "I am front desk manager, but I have no power" he also said " we are getting ready to remodel". This led me to Yelp where after reading other reviews I realized that Manny's scripted response was used with multiple people ... almost as a"tag line"!! We won't be back! Manny and his GM clearly don't have any care for cleanliness, and their standards for public health are non existent... the mold speaks for itself!! read more

I stayed at this hotel on a Friday night for a friend's wedding. She paid for the room before I got there. I put a card down for incidentals which is pretty standard. I noticed a few days after my stay that there was a charge from the hotel. I called and the front desk worker could not tell me what it was for. I asked her to remove it and she said she did not have the authority which is understandable. I asked her to have her manager call me the next day (Wednesday) to resolve it. He elected not to return my call, so I called again the following day. He was not in the office again when I reached out. I asked to be called on Friday and also sent an email to him. I reached out on Friday morning and he had not yet arrived. I called him on Friday afternoon and he was in a meeting, so I requested he return my call before leaving for the day. I called back an hour and a half later and he had left for the day without returning my call. Angry, I called corporate and relayed the saga to them. They explained to me that they would need to reach out to the same hotel manager who had been ignoring my calls in order to resolve it but assured me that this issue would be fixed within 48 hours. On Monday, the unknown charge was still on my card. Since I called a little late on a Friday, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. The charge had not been removed by Wednesday, so I called corporate back. After a bunch of back and forth with a few different people, I discovered that the charge was made to my card due to "an accounting error" and was REFUNDED TO THE WRONG PERSON!!! I was livid. The charge on my card wasn't even supposed to go on my card and the refund for taking MY MONEY was given to someone else! I asked my friend if maybe they had given the money to her, but she said they did not. That is the only other place that it would have even made sense for the money to go. After some more conversation, I was told to give corporate another 48 hours to fix the issue. Finally, two weeks after my stay in this hotel, the money that I should have never been charged in the first place was returned to me. The level of sheer incompetence on the part of the manager at this hotel is astounding. He compounded a simple clerical error into a huge ordeal by ignoring a problem that was his duty to correct. Then, instead of paying attention to the complaint, he further showed his inability to pay attention to detail by refunding the wrong customer. Furthermore, to date he has never called me to apologize for creating this situation. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again, and I very highly suggest that no one else does either. read more

There are not many hotels to choose from in Eunice, and it is sad that this is among one of the top. We booked a last minute hotel room here on a Saturday night. The guy at the desk was friendly and got us set up quickly. We got the last room available, which was a handicap room. When we entered the room the carpet had a huge stain on it by the entrance from the water in the shower not draining properly. Besides the huge stain, the room wasn't bad upon first impression. The next morning when we showered the huge area of the carpet that was stained was drenched with water. Since it was a handicap shower the shower was level with the bathroom floor and the water didn't drain properly. It was apparent that the water drained right onto the carpet. We also encountered a little visitor (A cockroach) due to the excess moisture in the room. When we left the hotel we asked the general manager for an address to mail a letter where we could voice our complaints. He apologized for the issues and mentioned the hotel is being renovated soon, and he did not give us an address. I am glad he apologized but an apology only goes so far. It was nice to hear that they were renovating, but how does that increase the pleasure of my stay. I asked again and he said there was no contact information he could share with us. I think we got unlucky with the handicap room and nothing in exchange for our inconveniences. Overall, decent hotel staff and customer service, and a decent room. We will try a different hotel if we are ever in the area again. read more

Lying owners, no General Manager, housekeeping, or maintenance. Booked a room with two queen beds and was told they were not available. Had to change our own light bulbs,clean the room and make a sofa bed up for our kids. Lack of trained front desk staff and the owner lied about who she was at the time of check out. There's no free breakfast, they barely have toilet paper and towels. Keep your money and take it elsewhere; this is the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel!!! read more

I'll be the first to admit that I am a Hilton man. However, If you are in Eunice Louisiana there is no Hilton to be found for 40 miles. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the coffee was like hot dirty dishwater. Yep, nearest Starbucks is in Lafayette...probably by the Hilton. read more

Rooms are really dirty and old, was there for around 1week. During that week my AirPods went missing when I addressed it to the manager he said that they where not responsible for missing items in room. After telling some of my coworkers about it I come to find out three of them have had stuff missing from their rooms. read more

This hotel is horrible! Met at the front desk with a barely passable attempt at hospitality! The room was hot and I was told that instead of moving us their first line of action was to call maintenanc. I have an infant and it's 90 degrees out. The room phone worked somewhat. Internet was out in the lobby computers! Paid 126$ per night for two nights and cancelled the second 4 hours in. Then days later my card was charged a 600$ cleaning fee. I have yet to get the manager on the phone and was told the owner doesn't deal with customers! IHG as a company made a case number and told me get with the hotel! Nightmare!!! The hotel was great. We had an issue in the first room they gave us because of an outlet. But they switched us to another room right away. We had the same issue and we told the manager who came up to help us. Turns out we weren't pushing the machine we needed plugged in hard enough. They have been renovating the hotel. The continental breakfast was really good. The beds were very comfortable but they are tall and I'm 5ft and my mom is about 5ft. She has had knee surgery so watching her try to get in her bed was funny. The rooms have a fridge and coffee maker in them. It is a great place to stay. read more

Stayed at this hotel while in Eunice for a baseball tournament. Cons : Just picky things. Indoor pool only stays open until 7:00 p.m. This is understandable as an adult since it's mostly a business stay hotel. However, the kids aren't as understanding after losing out of a tournament when they want to have fun. Pros : The service is excellent! As mentioned above, the pool closes at 7. However, when asked the front desk clerk offered to let all our kids swim after hours but couldn't because she has already told another guess no. Her honesty is a major plus. One of the days, my players went for a swim before the pool's open hours, and the staff didn't tell them a word. Another example of their honesty is when I called for some extra towels. The front desk clerk told me that she couldn't leave the desk and I would have to go down to pick some up. When I arrived, their was a Eunice PD officer at the desk talking to her about a complaint she called in. I am also a law enforcement officer, but she didn't know that, and she walked me and my son to the elevator and rode it with us to our floor. This is an example of going way out of their way to ensure the safety of their guests. The gym is small but functional. It's not a professional gym, but I was able to get good workouts during my stay. Overall, it was a good stay and if I ever need to stay in Eunice again, we will be staying at this hotel. read more

We are Gold Elite Members in the IHG Rewards Club (www.ihgplc.com, @HIExpress), and have stayed at this location in Eunice, La. multiple times since its construction. The guest experience has gotten worse over time, but this most recent stay was as bad as it gets. We reserved two rooms while in town for the funeral of a family member on 12/4/2020-12/6/2020. Upon arrival, one room had stained sheets, towels, and a huge dark ring in the bathtub. The second room had no mattress cover on the bed, the carpet and cloth furniture had large unsightly stains. Staff and guests were not required to wear masks. One staff member came into our room to address some of the problems and we had to ask her to put her mask on. The night before we were scheduled to start a 1,000 mile drive home, the hotel allowed a large group to hold parties in the pool area next to our first floor room and in a guest room next to us. These parties went on until after 1:00 a.m., with little attention to pandemic-related safety measures or how they disturbed other guests. The party guests were allowed to have alcohol in the pool area and some were drunk by the end of the night, walking through the first floor corridor yelling, slamming doors, etc. We called the front desk to complain at least five times. Staff responded that they "needed to accommodate everyone, including the party guests" When the party guests got even more rowdy, we asked the staff to address the problem and call the police if needed. The front desk staff told us "because they were not managers they couldn't call the police for assistance." I asked them to call the manager on duty and we were told the manager was out of state attending a funeral. When the hotel staff tried again to end the party at 1:00 a.m., the party guests refused to shut down the event. The staff again refused to call the police for assistance. In addition to the indoor parties, hotel staff allowed party guests to set up a makeshift bar on the sidewalk just outside the window of our first floor rooms. In addition, the rear exit door near one of our first floor rooms was found by us at 5:00 a.m. to be blocked open with a flower planter. This open exit door was a few steps from the room where our daughter stayed. With no sleep, we had to get on the road for the long drive home. The front desk staff told us there was nothing she could do to address our complaint. When I insisted early that morning to speak to someone in authority, she called a "manager". The person on the phone was "just the office manager" and said she could not address our complaint. They refused to call someone who could make a decision about our situation. Next time, I think I will stay at the brand new Hampton Inn in Opelousas. read more
