They have a full bar and so many fun and random props to create your hole. It's a lot of fun to see the creative side of everyone. You have around an hour to design your hole and another hour then to play all of the other holes. My one tidbit on this was I think we could have used a little less time to design and more to play the holes, because we weren't able to finish all of them. Overall, I would definitely come back here. I think I would recommend not to have too large of a group, because that's what makes it take longer for each hole.

You can't leave food out that we paid for, especially if it's not a health concern? Maybe provide boxes so people could take things home? Wasteful and disappointing. Spoke quietly and was upset that the group couldn't hear him though it was pretty full in the event space with another party who was already underway. The most important thing about it is that it isn't a race but more of a spiritual journey (to me at least). I was able to tap into my inner being and push into the unknown. There were so many motivating people there especially the person who hypes you up before starting the run. The obstacles were amazing and definitely hard. The run itself was challenging but worth all the sweat I produced LOL. Parking was super easy and not congested (luckily). Finding the place was a bit confusing as the address provided takes you to the other side of the airport so you will want to make sure you check the signs and get there a bit earlier for your race (maybe get there an hour early to ensure no hiccups in finding the place. You will get very very dirty hence the name of the event. You will be challenged and pushed to the edge but it is worth it. The other mudders are there to help fallen folks and folks that require help getting over obstacles - I felt like there was a huge sense of community throughout the whole thing. All in all, I had an amazing time and the end of the race was the electric obstacle. I got shocked right in my butt and it took me down so be careful in making your decision LOL. It either went straight to voicemail or rang and then went to voicemail. someone finally called me back four hours later(one of the owners) and she claimed that it was all booked and that she could squeeze me in at 10 even though they close at nine, she just had to call her husband and let him know so we got excited and got ready but she never called me back to confirm. I then proceeded to call her and she did not pick up the phone, but she called me back THREE hours later and apologized and said they had no openings and made a bull crap excuse about how she called the wrong number back and left them a voicemail. I called three hours ago and left a voicemail, at some point you'd think she would have checked it after she "called someone else". I find this establishment to be extremely unprofessional. we couldn't even book online, it said we had to do live booking, which we couldn't because they didn't pick up the phone.... ********************UPDATE****************** So one of the owners called and gave me and my sister a pass for free about an hour after I posted the review. He apologized and helped me set up an appointment. So we went and did the bank heist one and it was super fun! I love that this business has great customer service. The room we went into had some cool gadgets and gears but lacked a lot of props and decor. I took off a couple of stars because our room was not set up properly prior to our start. We spent most of our time on one puzzle and we were still able to finish but had to use many hints. When we walked out, we asked the game master about this particular puzzle and he realized that it had not been set up so we would have never been able to get our next clue. Had this room been properly set up, we should have gotten out with almost 30 minutes to spare. It's only $20 per person which is cheaper than most escape rooms. However, I felt that the puzzles were more simple than my past experiences. If you've never done an escape room, give this place a try! But if you consider yourself a veteran, maybe pass on this place.

The Badass Dash 5K Obstacle Race is pretty new to the Chicago area. Last year was the first year…read moreand they held it in Rosemont. This year, they have two races. I completed the one at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates. They are doing another one in August in Rosemont again too. Usually, these types of races are held pretty far from the city in rural, farm areas. I couldn't picture what this would be like in the burbs, but they did a really good job. The obstacles were really unique -there was no mud, but plenty of water oriented ones! Most of it was done either in or around the Sears Center (running up and down the stadium stairs were killer!) However, I was really pleasantly surprised by how pretty the prairie path was around this area too. It was the perfect combination of urban and "farm like" environments. The obstacles were pretty cool and many were unique to this race. My favorite was the end -climbing up the rope ladder and then sliding down into a pool. I would do this again next year -it was really fun and challenging! My advice, though; do not buy the spectator VIP package. I did and it wasn't really worth the money -this part was a bit disorganized and my parents didn't get any more "VIP" of a view than anyone else. Have your spectators sneak around and get a great view from the Sears Center lot.

That being said, it was still a good time and the obstacles were fun. The finish line area in particular was very very unorganized. The spectators were not separated from the runners in any way and there were many instances where the spectators were in the path of the course. The timing of the race was also odd. We signed up for the 9am heat, and they released the 9am heat in small batches at a time in 5 minute intervals so we were at the starting line for about 30-40 minutes after 9am waiting for our turn to go. They should have had a 9am heat, a 9:05, a 9:10, and so on. Then when we finished we checked the time of day, but had to wait a good 45minutes or so to find out what our race time was. We didn't know what time we finally started the race, so we couldn't figure out how long it took us to run it until they posted the times. All in all it was a good time, but I'll probably choose a different race to run next time.
