If Sherri is booked I'll ask for Liz, who has done my hair a few times, including for prom and before I went to Mexico on vacation--I made the mistake of getting that one professional dye job and the sun, sand, and surf stripped the color out of my hair in 3 days. Liz is the youngest in the salon and her take on hair is a little edgier--she'd do well in DC! Now that I have a wonderful hairdresser in DC I don't really get my hair done at home anymore--but you never know when you'll need an emergency fix, and it is good to know they are there!

In addition to the great products and services they offer at reasonable prices, I like the fact that it is a small and friendly salon with hair stylists that continue to update their technical knowledge and stay current with the latest trends. Being heavily involved with animal charities, I was also impressed with the owner and hair stylist, Laura Majeczky, who is an animal lover like myself. How many hair salons offer you the opportunity to have your hair styled while holding a cat or petting a dog? My former hairdresser understood me well and knew my likes and dislikes. I had gotten used to that, and I feared I would not be able to communicate it well to someone new. To help me describe the style I was interested in, I brought in pictures to show Laura, and I verbally modified them to fit my needs. Laura is very friendly, patient, talented, and great at paying attention to details. She truly listens to what you say and is able to cut and color your hair the way you want it. The facilities are old, run down, and don't appear to be very clean. But I wanted bangs cut and a simple manicure, so I proceeded. Despite the fact that I had booked my appointment as a hair cut (and was willing to pay for that and not just a bang trim), and had 2-day unwashed hair that had been up in a bun, the stylist did not shampoo me before cutting. So my hair was not laying correctly to be cut evenly. When I got home I washed and dried my hair and my bangs are completely uneven. Given the facility I don't feel confident somebody else could fix them if I went back, either. Regarding the manicure - again the facilties and equipment appear old and unclean. My cuticles were not cut back at all, my nails were not filed or buffed, there was no lotion or massage. It was simply paint, which was done poorly. It is over my cuticles and the ends of the nails were not painted, so as soon as I washed my hands the polish already began to chop and peel. Vicki showed me some gray Artic Fox dyes that she thought would blend nicely. I trusted her expertise, and we went for it. The bleaching process seemed to go well, and Vicki was very pleased with the lightening. The coloring process also went smoothly, and my naturally curly hair looked great when I left. However, I was surprised that she never offered to trim my hair or even mention it at all. I liked the color result and immediately posted a positive review on Google. After I got home, my scalp at the base of my neck was burning. I touched the area and found patches of dried bleach on my scalp and in my hair. I removed as much of it as possible to prevent any further chemical burns that I had suffered. But once I washed my hair completely, the texture of it became terrible. It felt frayed and knotted like broom bristles. I had never experienced this, even after having my hair bleached once before, six years ago. Even after buying Olaplex shampoo & conditioner for blonde/gray and extreme moisturizing conditioner that is intended for ethnic hair, after five months, my hair still feels extremely dry, brittle and knotty. My first and last visit to Vicki's salon was so NOT worth the $400 she charged for some chemical burns and ruined hair. It was blatantly clear that I did not pay for her "expertise". One month after having the unfortunate experience at Victoria's Beauty Salon, I decided to visit another salon to get a trim. The stylist, who had over 20 years of experience, informed me that my hair had been ruined due to the use of low-quality hair products and incorrect bleaching/developer protocol by the previous stylist, Vicki. Fortunately, the new stylist provided me with some helpful tips to restore my hair to its original health.

If you're blonde, or light DO NOT go to Jenny or Lily. i came into the salon to get my medium brown roots touched up to match my platinum blonde hair. I had an appointment with Lily and left with yellow, uneven roots, and pretty intense banding especially around my hairline. I then contacted the salon by phone and had no response for 3 phone calls. I live nearby so i drove over. I definitely was upset and had an attitude but even from the start i was just trying to kinda laugh through it and i had a very aggressive worker named i believe John (who is not a colorist) continuously tell me me what my hair needs, as well as say to me "they aren't just gonna give you a refund because you don't like your hair now." and after some choice words on both ends i was told to not come back. I then left obviously, got a text from Jenny to fix it (even though i just wanted a refund) and came in the next day to fix it. Jenny did a much better job, but not a good one. The color i was left with was this pastel yellow roots and banding, as well as uneven from front to back. I do also believe my hair was styled to conceal the banding and unevenness. I texted and called to no response for days. I bought a red ken purple shampoo and conditioner (which i was also later recommended to get a purple shampoo to "fix the fixed hair" and the shampoo definitely didn't take well to the roots, obviously not their fault, but you can visibly see the levels of blonde are different (rest of photos) especially towards and front and sideburns. the salon was closed until tuesday (it's currently thursday) and after calling yesterday 10 times due to no one responding to a single call or text message, as well as the door being locked at 11am when they are open from 10-5 with no explanation. (i believe the number is automated for texts) I finally got a call back today where i was told i could either have them tone it, dye my roots back to my brown color also done by them, or i could essentially just forget about it. I was also told by the owner that I was harassing them, and that a police officer client was there while i was calling (yet they still couldn't answer) and told them it was harassment. So not only essentially threatening me with that, saying they had it all on cameras and body also felt like a threat so now i can't go back in the owner also blurted out she'd refund only my tip and then she hung up on me and refused to answer the phone afterwards. I was beyond willing to work with them, and even gave them a second chance but why would i go back to have them fix it when they've screwed it up 2 times?? BEYONDDDDD unprofessional.
