The girls are great! I went there for a haircut and showed a picture of my mom's haircut that was ruined by another salon asking my hairstylist Jen if there's anything she could do to fix it. They sympathized with the situation and was able to see my mom that same day and literally did a miracle on her hair! she's so happy! and I am too! I'm very thankful for the girls at the spa. I enjoyed this so much! I was given a gift certificate and was so excited to give this spa a try. For around $321 I was able to enjoy a full spa day. I booked the Ultimate Spa Day package and it was absolutely wonderful. I had a facial, massage, mani and pedi and it included lunch and gratuities. Once I booked the staff was excellent at confirming and communicating. They were so helpful the day of, letting me know what was going on and what would be going on next. I wanted to try somewhere new because my previous nail tech moved without warning. I can't say I'd recommend this for nail services. After 2 days, my gel nail polish lifted and chipped. My cuticles were not clipped at all and now it's snagged and torn and extremely sore. I pointed out that I usually get my skin cleaned up around the edges of my nail and she seemed confused (maybe that's not normal for nail salons but I've had it done at every other mom and pop salon). The polish is not even, very streaky, and doesn't cover the entire nail. I would have stopped her because it had already taken way too long. I will say, the redeeming quality is the massage tech. I saw Jara and she was amazing! Highly recommend Jara for the hot stone treatment. read more

My friend and I booked facials and manicures. The facials were great. A 5 year old could have done our manicures. Mine was botched before I even left. They both had another appointment and were behind. Spent no time on my nails, total waste of money. My friends nails were even worse. Do not recommend manicures. read more

Just had a massage with Tyler and he was amazing!! Did wonderful work and would definitely go back if we weren't just visiting. Highly recommend for a relaxation massage. I requested a nail appointment online and the staff called me first thing the following morning to confirm the date and time I wanted, excellent response. I had a great first time with Jennie, who was professional and did exactly as I asked. She gave some suggestions on color, which I chose and love. The salon has some lovely products in the lobby area. Overall, the service and salon was outstanding. I am taking one star off for the parking lot.... The sun had already set when I left the salon and once past the building I could not see a thing. The parking lot area is not lighted. I started clicking my car button so I could see where it was! I gave this place so much business and had future various appointments scheduled. I have consistently spray tanned here as well as hair blowouts. The staff was well aware I was on vacation for about 9 days. The manage Lexis informed me I would have to go back to paying full price for my spray tan because it had been past 6 days. I first received a text message which is an unprofessional way to communicate this news to a client. After I left a VM I received a call from Lexis and she made me feel like all of my past business meant nothing and all of my future business meant nothing. It's my opinion she handled the situation as an amateur in customer service. She let several of my upcoming appointments (profit) slip through and made me feel like my past business was not important. I gave over the top gratuity even when THEY MADE A MISTAKE ABOUT A WAX APPOINTMENT I HAD SCHEDULED. Lexis said she's the manager and the staff should know she's throwing away their money too. I just saw the business owner response to my review! I owned my my business for over 10yrs and never would've treated a faithful customer like I was treated. read more

Wonderful salon in Gettysburg, prices are far below what I had expected! The staff consists of 4 levels of professionals, I enjoyed a level-1 for a wash and cut. I opted for a level-1 stylist since she had the "fresh out of school" title under her belt, and I feel it's important to help build up the clientele for the grads! I have used their waxing services as well, no complaints in that department. Ice-breakers and casual convo kept the experience from being awkward or overly painful. I have an appointment scheduled to have a replacement manicure because my first one several weeks ago was terrible. The polish was blotchy and there was grit under the polish on one nail and polish on one cuticle. My daughters thought I had done it myself. Hopefully this next one will be better. Had a trim done the other day, the girl who did my hair was very pretentious and cavalier. I gave instructions on how I wanted my hair cut, she did what she wanted. I was not pleased so I asked to speak to a manager, who was, I believe, Kathy? She had blue highlights in her hair. She treated me like absolute scum. In addition, she demanded a pay full price and leave a tip as this is a spa, not a charity, and I'll never look better than I do right now. I won't be back. I was visiting with friends and we signed up for massage, pedis and manis. Becky gave a wonderful massage and listened to my needs. I would give Becky ten stars if possible!! My manicure was a different story. The nail polish was old and thick but was used anyway. The cost to repair one nail was overpriced and the nail needed to be repainted several times before it looked ok. Natural nail color took at least 4 hours to dry and 6 hours later my nails had marks in them. Very disappointed with the outcome. They made me feel guilty for not getting a gel manicure when I told them my nails were very fragile and beginning to peel and break easily. I paid $218 for the services while friends who had the same service minus the "nail repair" paid $17 to $26 dollars less than me! read more

I waited awhile after my experience with Gettysburg Day Spa to write this review; I did not want to say anything without a level-head. This will be long, but please bear with me. I carefully chose Gettysburg Day Spa for my wedding hair and nails based on positive reviews and its clear catering to brides. I spoke with their front desk staff and wedding coordinator about booking my hair and nail appointment as well as my mother and bridesmaids' hair appointments. The coordinator carefully selected certain stylists for each client based on their hair type, and, since I had a noon wedding, the stylists would be coming in early at 8am to accommodate us. This entire part of my experience with the spa was immaculate. I couldn't have asked for a better organized front desk. That being said, my negative experience with Gettysburg Day Spa started the day before my wedding. My sister, mother, and I went to get our nails done. The nail technicians continuously talked to us about their divorces/bad dating experiences, which- I'll admit- can be fun and entertaining, but it seemed a little out of place since we were part of a wedding party. The pedicure was wonderful, but the manicure was rushed. My technician spent about two minutes filing my nails, and then went straight into putting the no-chip gel on them. Two of my nails had chipped in half by the next morning due to the rushed paint job. I had to hide my nails for close-up pictures taken on my wedding day. The next morning, my updo- the bride's hair- was finished first; it took my stylist thirty-five minutes to do a bridal updo (instead of the usual hour). Unfortunately, it looked nothing like what we had planned during my trial. The curls in the back felt loose, and when I asked if she was sure they would hold, she said she had no doubt. My sister's stylist finished shortly after mine (Her hair looked very nice!), and both stylists left immediately to do wedding updos at an on-site location. My hair was rushed to accommodate someone else's wedding, and- consequently- my updo began falling out about twenty minutes after I left. We had to buy a mini bottle of hairspray and bobby pins from the hotel lobby to try and fix my hair in time for the ceremony. I felt like I wasn't a priority at all. My mother asked her stylist for a chignon brought to the side with some loose pieces around her face. She has very curly hair, which typically needs brushed out/re-curled for updos. The stylist proceeded to put no product in my mom's hair, and started pinning back her hair with it unbrushed. By the time the stylist had finished, my mother's hair was slicked back in a tight librarian-like style on the back of her head. I came over and tried to clarify for my mother what she wanted. I asked the stylist to make it a little looser and to bring the hair to the side so it could be seen from the front. The stylist then proceeded to do the exact same style with less bobby pins and a large chunk of hair left in the front to represent some sort of bang. It looked like my mom had thrown her hair up in a bun and had forgotten a piece in the front. Aggravated, my mother, sister, and I paid and left. After spending over an hour in the salon, we did not have time to try and have corrections done. My mother and I fixed our own hair to the best of our abilities (including me completely redoing the front of my hair). Two days after the wedding, my mother posted a short review about the salon while I was on my honeymoon. Instead of reaching out to my mother- the one who was upset and had paid for the experience- I was contacted via email asking what my thoughts were about the service compared to my mom. I then spent the next few days of my honeymoon emailing back and forth with the manager, who apologized and provided some excuses for the situation. She also said that she would talk to the staff in a few weeks during a formal hair training class, and she also reminded us that her team opened the spa early for us (maybe to keep us from complaining?). I used to manage a hair salon myself in Chicago, so I explained to the manager how I would have handled the situation (I would have called the unhappy client to understand further what had gone wrong, offered redos on the nails, reimbursement/credit for the hair, etc.). Collectively we spent over $800 in the spa for hair and nails, and we were rushed through our services, given low-quality work, followed by low-quality crisis control. I am so disappointed with what I was sure to be an amazing experience. In the end, the manager did reimburse us for one updo and my manicure, but that doesn't undo what occurred the morning of my wedding. I cannot give my genuine recommendation for any bride to use Gettysburg Day Spa for their wedding services. I am so disappointed with the way we were treated and hope that this review helps future Gettysburg brides in their search for the right salon! read more

I recently came here to get a Gel Manicure and was extremely disappointed. While the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing, the manicure I received was sub par at best. My hands were never soaked and my cuticles were never cut per a normal manicure. I also asked to have my nails cut down and they were "lightly filed" down as there were no nail clippers in sight. As for the polish, it was put on unevenly and in clumps. It was honestly the worst manicure I have ever had. I could have done a better job myself. I would not recommend this place. The pricing was off as well. For a place in the countryside, I was not expecting to pay $35 for a gel manicure when I usually get them for $25 at home. I am not usually one to post on YELP but I feel that in this situation, I wanted to warn everyone on what to expect. read more

The girl clearly had no idea how to cut hair, left different lengths all over, gave the top a weird completely straight shape (unrequested), cut way more than instructed in some places (top) and way less than instructed in others (sides). Was in PA for a friend's wedding. Was invited to get pedi's with the bride and her MIL. Upon entering, I was eager to enjoy a service similar to those received at the high end salons I had worked in, seeing how the decor and clientele seemed similar. The pedicure started off okay, but soon turned sour at the awkward silence of the tech who did my toes, and the fact that several times, during the nearly hour long pedicure the three of us had during our appointment, the ladies got up and disappeared for minutes at a time. (A few of which their conversations were audible to us in the nail area) In addition, I have had better work done to my toes in terms of callus removal and general polishing from those who work in chain salons. All of my toenails chipped the day after, and as of Tuesday, looked like they had been on the better part of a month, not just a WEEK! When I called to complain, I was simply offered $15, which was an abominable number to the original $55 paid for the poor outcome of my feet. Don't waste your money. read more

Was very pleased with my experience. Recently moved to the area and was struggling to find a place that wouldn't be scared if I wanted my hair a "almost but not quite work inappropriate" shade and had a nice and knowledgeable staff. I found Gettysburg Day Spa via Facebook, and decided to give them a try based on photos posted of their stylists work. I'm very happy I did. I saw Siarra, who was sweet and kind, and gave me exactly the cut and funky haircolor I wanted. The spa inside is super clean, and while the building is small, the inside is wide open and it seems much larger than on the outside. I was not pushed into any products or services I didn't want or need at the time, but I was informed of all specials and I appreciated that. I will certainly be back and recommend Siarra and the Spa to everyone passing through. read more
