The new owners have definitely spent money improving the experiences here. It is great to see water flowing and landscaping kept tidy. I don't quite understand the holes that have the open edges. If they were closed it would improve this pace of play, which is a constant problem at this mini golf course.

We love Holey Mackerel! We live close by and it's the perfect place to get outside for a round of mini golf or watch live music. Their bar is fabulous with awesome happy hour deals. The whole place is decked out in old Nintendo games. They have stuff going on all week like music bingo and live music inside and outside. Bartenders are always friendly. They have a food truck outside as well! We haven't tried the trucks, but people always say the food is food.

Recently opened, the old river falls family fun center is now the new and improved Holy Mackerel! We were able to attend "Spooky Mini Golf" during the Halloween season, 18 holes of mini golf with glow in the dark holes and lights lining the perimeter of the green. Too chilly for mini golf (or the batting cages)? Head inside for warm spiked cider at the fully stocked bar, and a wide array of arcade games! The bar itself has a nice selection of liquor options and a solid drink menu. The vibrant indoor atmosphere is backed by the equally spirited staff, who is friendly, information and ensures you feel welcomed. Definitely a great spot for family fun, or a quick drink while playing games!

Mini golf here was a lot of fun! But I was most impressed by the bar area inside, despite looking like your standard mini golf place from the outside, Holey Mackerel is a fun place to stop and get a drink at the bar, even if that's the only reason you go! Mini golf was well maintained and the cup holders on each hole were a nice touch, would recommend!

My review is specifically for the batting cages--we did not patronize any other activity (but loved to see a bar and mini golf on site as well).

I was in the area today so I stopped by and the lack vehicles in the parking lot led me to believe that it was closed but an open sign was on. The place is nothing fancy and empty on a day with a lot of festivals going on. Brian was the only person in the place except for the bar tender so it was empty. As a new person I must say that I talked to Brian and the bar tender for an hour and a half so the place was welcoming and not clicky like some bars. The drinks are reasonable with a tall rail cocktail at $4 which was nice.

Open seating and a small bar area seem cozy, though, and inviting for conversations wherever you sit. Very glad we stopped in because everything we got was made to perfection. Burger made medium, true medium, and oh so juicy. The wrap had plenty of meat in it, the fries were golden deliciousness, and the drinks kept coming. The drinks were the perfect accompaniment to the food, and the bartender absolutely knew her stuff when making them. It was so refreshing to make it out somewhere that had everything lined up correctly. No real wait times on the food since we got there right when they opened, and the staff was all extremely friendly and outgoing. I love the explanations they had for specials and the enthusiasm for recommendations that were made. Felt like you were talking with someone you knew for years, and you certainly trusted their knowledge on food and drink topics. We will be stopping back here to try more on the menu. Though we grabbed lunch items, I love breakfast food, and it seems like they have some great menu items I'd love to try.

I entered wearing a $15,000 sheared mink coat and carrying a Louis Vuitton bag -- clearly not riffraff, clearly not someone arriving to cause trouble. My boyfriend, who is Puerto Rican, was dressed appropriately as well. We looked polished, put-together, and fashionable. And yet the security guard, who was slurring his words, immediately put his hands on my boyfriend the second we sat down. His excuse? "Your pants are sagging." They were not. This wasn't about a dress code. This wasn't about safety. This was racial profiling -- blatant, obvious, and unprovoked. I put my bag on the barstool, took my fur off and immediately in less than two minutes problems based on purely our appearance. Which is how racism works actually. I am African American, and as soon as they saw we weren't white, the tone shifted. This place caters strictly to white patrons and the few Hispanic customers willing to tolerate disrespect. Everyone else is treated as a problem before they even order a drink. Coming from New York City, I know nightlife, I know professionalism, and I know discriminatory behavior when I see it. Fox's is a disgrace to hospitality and a danger to anyone who isn't white. If you value dignity or basic respect, don't go where you are not welcome.

Only thing to be aware of is the afternoon sun can make this patio in the mall parking lot a bit hot. I had the Sweet Thai Chili Salmon Bowl. We were there on a Saturday night and while we weren't the only people there it was far from busy. The service was friendly and attentive. The dining room is casual with a view of the beer tanks. Basically what you would expect at a craft brewery. The menu had the basics - appetizers, soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. They also make pizza and calzones and some other main course dishes like fish and chips. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer. My husband ordered a sandwich and I ordered the boneless wings. For drinks my husband ordered a ginger beer and I ordered Diet Coke. The check before tip was $62. Normally I'd be okay with that but I thought it was a lot given the quality of the food. The cheese curds and boneless chicken wings seemed like items from a restaurant supply place that they fried up. Unfortunately next time we are in the area we'll go somewhere else. A fast food restaurant would have given us the same quality food for a fraction of the price.
