Jason at J&J answered the phone and scheduled an appointment. He and his wife came out and inspected our 2 chimneys. Photos from inside the wood stove chimney showed a large build up of creosote partially obstructing the chimney. this is likely why the smoke had been blowing back into the room. It showed me that the prior chimney repair company had done a poor job of cleaning our chimney. J&J chimney removed the blockage, put in a steel liner, did repairs on the other 2 chimneys, and did so for a better price than i had been quoted before. they brought a vacuum and cleaned up after themselves. i am pleased with their work and will use them again and again, and recommend them to others. it's hard to find people these days who do a good job, are honest, on time, do what they say, and answer the phone.

The work I was able to inspect (I did not go on the roof) was exactly how I had hoped it would be, straight, well sealed and overall professional looking. Bob (the owner) was helpful especially with the initial diagnosis of the problem, even when it looked like we were going to do a different solution which would not involve chimney work. However in the end we ended up going the chimney repair route to solve our issue. It was about a 3 week wait to get my work done. It was not an emergency situation and would imagine they have provisions in there schedule for stuff like that, however that was the wait time for my job. They arrived on time and did the work within the estimate. The hourly rate is not cheap. However, I did check with one other chimney service company and their hourly rate was within a few dollars so I expect this is the going rate for this type of skilled professional labor. In the end I am very satisfied with the work they did.

We decided to replace our wood burning stove fireplace insert with a gas burning fireplace insert…read more We went to three different retailers and ended up buying from Heath & Home because they seemed the most knowledgeable and because a good friend purchased two gas burning inserts from H&H a few years ago and was very happy with the results. When we ordered the insert on September 13, the owner (Brian) told us that he had just purchased the store (he previously was a rep for Regency Stoves and had operated a smaller retail fireplace store in another location, where he had good reviews). Brian was very knowledge about all brands of inserts (not just the ones he currently sells) and was able to answer all of our questions. Installation was scheduled October 9. On October 8 H&H called us to say that they had received the wrong surround and trim (i.e. not the one we ordered) and offered the option of rescheduling the install (several weeks out) or installing the insert and then coming back to install the correct surround when they received it from the manufacturer. Since they said we could use the stove without the surround (it just isn't pretty). we decided to keep the original install date. The installers arrived on time and did a good job with the installation. Less than a week later H&H called and said they had the correct surround and would install it two days later. Again, they arrived when expected, installed the surround and trim piece and were on their way. The new H&H owner seems a little overwhelmed with taking over a larger business but he is very knowledgeable about the products and they followed through on all of the commitments they made to us. The gas fireplace insert is working well and is a delight!

Upon interview, he admitted to the kiss, which is sexual harassment. Today (1/27/2026) we woke up to no heat once again. There are no repair companies in the area besides Chiodo (who don't seem to be able to get it working) willing to work on this unit and, based on the eror code, the the control board has failed so all I can do is replace it with a new boiler after only 3 years...would not recommend.
