The lobby is a sunroom with cubbies, mats for rent and all the props you need to practice. The teacher, Diane, greeted me and showed me their quick check in process. We chatted and I immediately felt at home. Tonight's class was "Bliss Down", exactly what I needed after a week of dealing with life. The studio was a long back room with hardwood floors. The other students and I followed Diane's gentle, serene instructions. I love yoga studios that make you feel that it is your practice and it is not a competition. My body stretched and strengthened and sighed with pleasure. At the end, and I am always surprised when a good yoga session is over, while we were in sevasana, Diane treated us to a lavender temple message. When she pulled on my ears, I thought my spine was going to turn to jelly and sink through the floor, it was that relaxing! Then back to the real world - I will definitely visit again - $12 for that type of mind/body pampering is well worth it!

First time trying Southport Yoga Dock, a pretty new yoga studio, with a unique environment & view…read more The dock is large & can accommodate around 20 yogis or so. Our instructor for this morning, Carol, has been practicing for over 20 years & provided a great class with some deep stretches, balance sequences, warrior flows, and a lot of focus on the breath & letting go of what is not for you. Awesome instructor with a kind disposition. She even took a picture with me at the end! I really enjoyed this class, being out on the water made it a great experience. Very peaceful & blissful venue, even with the wind (which posed a challenge at times). Makes me wish I had something like this at home! Oh well, it will just make it sweeter to come back the next time I'm in town!

I love this little yoga studio! It's just a year old, but already becoming a staple in the…read morecommunity. I love that it is one big yoga room with NO mirrors. It helps with creating a calming and distraction free space. They have a bathroom and filtered water, safe to leave things in cubbies, blocks and bolsters and even some mats if you need to borrow one. Their schedule is varied throughout the week, including Hatha, sculpt, Hot vinyasa, slow flow and vinyasa. A highlight is they also have a physcial therapist and massage therapist within reach, so you can connect to either of those to help build your spiritual/emotional/mental health as well as physical. I'm excited to continue to come here and looking forward to the newest addition of their HOT style classes, where they use infrared heaters.

The class begins at 7am at the Tennessee Beach Access and lasts 1 hour. Caroline was warm, welcoming and made the practice good for all levels. She focused on our breath, gentle poses and our beautiful surroundings. Overlooking the sun rising over the ocean was so peaceful and rejuvenating as the waves crash on the beach. Also, it was cool to have the sand move under your towel. It actually cradled your body and hands in poses that was really great. Some of the flow movements were trickier with the sand but doable. I wished I had done this class earlier in the summer as they will not offer it during the colder months. I'll be checking out their other classes!

It does not feel like some of the bigger places with industrial lighting, which is not relaxing at all and a lot of times have people who have never done yoga before trying to teach a class.
