Drinks were amazing and felt like they were Neverending. The green "salsa" served with the chips was more of a chimichurri situation and I would eat it on anything! The Peruvian food (Seco pollo) was the best dish I ate all weekend. The Mahi mahi pub tacos were the most gringo tacos I've encountered at any type of Latin restaurant in the pnw and I wouldn't personally recommend. But literally everything else, including the service, was amazing. read more

Very relaxing casual dining in downtown Bend, the Peruvian menu has numerous choices. I had the Seco de Pollo, my wife had Tamales de Puerco, both exceptionally prepared. If you're looking for great ethnic fare in a casual atmosphere this is the place. read more

We usually eat on the east side, even though we live out by Tumalo. We love the food, the servers are always very nice, and the place is clean. My favorite are the Peruvian ribs served at dinner! They are so delicious. I think they have spots in Redmond, Sunriver and downtown Bend. Not to be missed. read more

Exceptionally good food! Walked in not having context to the place and really wowed by flavor profiles. To note, I had the chicken mushroom dish and a margarita. Yummy food, great people watching with the outdoor seating, and amazing margaritas. I started with the Red Cactus Marg with a hint of hibiscus, yum! I wanted some guacamole, but not the big appetizer portion so I ordered the side, and it was plenty. For dinner I got the Chancho a lo Sancho. The pork was tender, the veggies also tender and the portion a perfect size. A little understaffed tonight, but who isn't? Nothing but a really nice culinary experience. read more

Came in for solo lunch. Very good service. I had the Mexican ceviche with prawn and halibut, no cilantro. Super excited that they could accommodate my aversion (many places are just pre-made that way). It was delicious. The newest Hola! in Bend opened last Friday in the location of the former Tart Bistro on the corner of Bond and Minnesota. BOTTOM LINE: The Mexican - Peruvian menu , good cocktails and friendly service continues the vibe of the original Hola! in the Forum shopping center on Bend's east side and Hola! 2 in the Old Mill District shops complex. (There is also another Hola! in Sunriver.) Given the premium visibility corner location and the short walking distance to the downtown parking garage, this Hola! should be ffinally a stable restaurant to occupy this location. (Hola! is the third restaurant in the space in six years.) But there is work to do here 5o get this right. FOOD: The eats downtown are similar to but not quite the same as the other two Bend locations. This location has a much smaller kitchen and the associated limits, like less refrigeration space, mean the menu at Hola! Downtown is reduced. LIBATIONS: The cocktails, from Peruvian (Pisco Sour) to Brazilian (Caiprianha) to Mexican (Margaritas) to Cuban (Mojito) are delicious. This location has about a buck or so more per in cost. It also has some specialty cocktails that are not (yet) on the menus of East Side or Mill District Hola! restaurants. VIBE: Bright paint treatments added to some walls liven this up a lot over the black and white motif of the previous occupant of the space. Seats for only about 30 people at very tightly spaced tables maybe 10 more around the bar. Sadly, a limit of this location (which was previously the bar 28 and then the bar and bistro Tart) is that it is small and has awkward angles for seating. They've done the best they can within those limits, but when it is full it is really a sardine can. Minus one full point for me due to the tight space. Once the weather warms up and they can use their outdoor seating, that should help for space. But also put increased burden of still more diners on the little kitchen which struggles even in slow times - trade off there. SERVICE: Just as friendly as the other Hola! locations - a customer feels welcome even when they are slammed with a big crowd. But a challenge of this place will be that because of the limits of the small kitchen, it will be tough for the wait staff as customers may have a longer wait than comfortable for food. That is what is is when kitchens are small and places are popular. THIS N THAT: 1) Accessibility. Level in from lobby building lobby and sidewalk entry. All seating on one floor. But given how tight are the spaces, wheelchair users may find this difficult. (Same would be true for parents with strollers.) 2) Hours: Right now, open from 4p to midnight for cocktails and dinner. Beginning Friday, April 13 they will also be open for lunch service from 11:30 to 3:00. The plan, they say, is for seven days a week. read more

I'm giving this place a 3 b/c the customer service was amazing! Lots of laughs and smiles from the team. The drinks were really good! Huckleberry margarita, loved it!!!! The food is a bit of a different story. The nopales were disgusting, the dish had a slimy feel. I was super sad b/c most places don't serve them but I thought they must be doing something bright. I wouldn't order it again. The chips and salsa was tasty. I was a bit leery at first b/c potato chips were mixed in but I found myself wanting more of them and less of the tortilla chips. After a day of hiking we were looking for a place to fill our bellies. We decided on Hola! and it didn't disappoint! The food was really good, seasoned perfectly. I had the best agua de jamaica (hibiscus) drink, so refreshing! But aside from the excellent food, the staff was absolutely top notch! From the moment we were greeted up to leaving, we were treated excellent! The bartender/waiter Greg is by far the best waiter that we've encountered anywhere-that is no exaggeration. He was attentive, entertaining and welcoming! The chef David, prepared a vegan dish for me that was really delicious! The rest of the staff that I did not get their names were equally great! Thank you to all for the great food and hospitality! We will definitely be back! read more

Our family recently dined at Hola in Bend! Our server was so personable and welcoming and made our dining experience just that much nicer. The food was amazing to say the least! I had read other reviews that complained about the dryness of some of the entrees. My sister ordered a burrito and it came stuffed with chicken and she wished there had been more sauce but it was still so delicious! I recommend ordering extra sauce on the side, but the flavor profiles are amazing. Their own draft beer is absolutely delicious as well! I highly recommend this restaurant, and we will absolutely return next time we are in the area! read more

The food at Hola is delicious! The flavors are vibrant and the spices intriguing to the taste buds! We all enjoyed our dishes. The only downside to our lunch was the fact that there was only one waitress and one hostess running the whole restaurant--so there were times with extensive waits, but the ladies were very cheerful and kind. We'll be back when in Bend and want Mexican/Peruvian food for sure! read more

Where to start?! Mojitos, of course. Ordered a pitcher and didn't regret one drop; perfectly prepared, mixed & muddled. Refreshing & delicious. Ate indoors - bar area at a table. The outside tables were in the sun at the time of day we were at Hola!. The staff immediately brought water (kept glasses full), chips & 2 delicious salsas - a red spicy salsa & a rich, green, mildly spiced salsa. Then - Cuban Nachos - pork was absolutely moist & flavorful, toppings were generous & delicious. Mexican Ceviche with halibut- light, lemony, sits on the palate just right. Peruvian paella was a new dish for us. Have had Spanish paella; however, Peruvian was a bit different, more like a stew. Great rounded flavors, a lot of seafood, rice was not mushy despite saucy overall texture. I would order it all again. The fastest thing about this place was when we said we were ready to pay the check. I was going to give this restaurant a 1-star because we had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for our food. However our server, Ara, was excellent. Checked on us several times, apologizing for the wait, and offered a free drink as a service recovery. Also kept the chips coming. The other thing that bumped up the rating was the food - very good. So the only issue was the extraordinary wait time. Hopefully this was just an off night for them. read more

The reviews for this place are pretty much all over the place so we weren't sure what our experience would be. We arrived with no reservation on a Friday evening around 8:00 and got a seat outside on a wonderful Bend evening. The service was quick and good all night. They immediately brought a basket of chips and two salsas. Both good but the red had a little kick to it which we enjoyed. We did not get an appetizer but the empanadas sounded good. We ordered the enchiladas rancheros, chili relleno, and the lomo saltado. The enchiladas with cheese and onion were very good along with chili relleno stuffed with chicken. The lomo is chunks of beef simmered in tomatoes, red onion, and a red chili sauce. The lomo comes with potatoes and rice cooked into the meat and sauce, and the other two dishes came with rice and refried beans. Two of us had the house margaritas which sounded expensive on the menu, but they bring you a shaker with another one and a half drinks in it. We really enjoyed our dining experience. read more

The Especial beer on tap was nice. (I had the amber, there is also a lager-ish version.) It seems one of the local brewers makes it for them, in the Mexican style. The carne asada was flavorful, more savory and less sweet than typical for the dish. (Be forewarned that the beans which accompany it are spicy.) Over all it was pretty good. Service was accommodating, although it seems that my dad's beer was lost in the shuffle for a time. It is possible they were spread a bit thin. read more

The service here blows. The "boyz" were too busy f'in around in the kitchen to wait on me for 15 mins, but I'm glad I stayed. The shred beef ench are really good and loaded with meat. The shred beef tacos weren't as impressive as the shells were the typical hard shell premades. They're lucky to get 4 stars. The bartender/server looked at me like I was a crazy white dude on VACA in Mexico when I asked for a Limonada. He responded, "we've got it in the gun...". The food was good. The serving size was good but the service sucks which is the owner or management fault. There was 2 employees taking care of the whole Resturant and it was semi packed. The employees did a great job but they just need more man power what was supposed to be a 30-40 minute dinner took 1 hour and 30 minutes. read more
