I asked somebody two months ago if they could recommend a Mexican restaurant in Bend. I've been told by many people that there are none. I'm ready to believe them as this is the fifth one I've tried. The atmosphere is a cafe sort of vibe, nothing special. we order 3 margaritas and 3 entrees for $120 before a tip. I would like to experience a restaurant that has a nice ambiance and good food without costing an arm and a leg. The food is OK. I will not be returning to this chain. This food is excellent. We had the most delicious food and amazing Mojito. The service was very attentive, super nice wait staff and bartender. Just visited the Safeway location. Never been great here, but this time exceptionally lackluster in terms of atmosphere and food. Junky parking lot area with tables and fire pits tossed around. Interior is decades old and well beyond needing an update. Why do you let this location languish in such a pitiful state. Had the super hyped up enchiladas and a Ciaprehena drink. Both were lacking, especially the unseasoned chicken in the enchiladas. Lazy Mexican / Peruvian food. We ordered take out. So disappointed when we go home. The Carne Asada was overcooked, dry and chewy and a small portion The enchilada and chimichanga were just a chunk of boiled chicken wrapped in a flour tortilla, no sauce, no cheese, no flavor. Oh boy.... This place is pretty popular. And I'm having trouble finding out if people's standards have lowered or if I just visited on an off day. Our service was pretty standard. Nice but nothing personal. The chips and salsa are pretty good! I liked the flavor of the green and the spice and chunkiness of the other. Chips are just okay. Im going to say that I'm just used to finer cuisine because I feel like I'm usually good at asking questions. But I must have really fallen off the ball this time. Ordered the two tacos combo. I asked for one chicken, one pork. I was expecting traditional soft tortillas tacos but was sadly surprised with hard shell. Thankfully they weren't the gross store bought ones that barely taste like corn. The chicken was alright. Pretty moist. However, (and I shutter) the pork was awful. I'm not sure if I just got the last of that nights loot or what. But it looked like someone hacked off three chunks of very tough meat and shoved it in a taco shell. It was awful. Needless to say I didn't finish that and ordered a "replacement" meal. An alacart chicken chimichanga. It was just okay. Not crispy enough to classify in my opinion. Been here a few times as its easy to access when your out shopping at Safeway. Every time has been a disappointment. At least they're consistent with crappy service and equally unfriendly staff. Our party of 4 ordered a pitcher of Margarita's. Fruit juice only. When you spend $40 for a pitcher why not throw in some booze? Seems reasonable. Just a thought. Food is overpriced, bland and served with the same attitude. If you like that then this is your place. I wont be back. This place shouldn't claim they are peruvian fusion. I ordered the lomo saltado and it's nothing close to it. It tasted like the sauce you get from a chef boyardi ravioli can. It was soupy when it's not supposed to be. It was not appetizing at all. I hope this restaurant researches and studies how to do real Peruvian food or stick to Mexican food. Other than that service was okay and chips/ salsa was good. But please put some respect on Peruvian food. read more

Attentive staff, fresh and delicious food, and killer margaritas! The first time I came in I had the lomo saltado (perfect meal on a chilly day) and a fresca margarita. I'm a lightweight when it comes to booze, so I couldn't finish it all (the margarita was served with a lot extra in the shaker) but I really wanted to because it was the BEST margarita I've ever had. I went back on a different day and enjoyed the halibut tacos, which were simple, but good. I'm excited to go back and try something new next time! read more

This place was delicious! They have indoor and outdoor dining. They also have bar seating that is spaced out for COVID and a glass shield between guests and the kitchen. They make freshly fried potato chips and tortilla chips! They are addicting. The salsa is fresh. I had the carne Asada tacos. $21 but good quality and a lot of meat. They are honestly the most expensive Mexican food restaurant you will find in the area and their food is on par with most other brick and mortar Mexican restaurants. Just last weekend we ordered the red enchiladas and they barely, and I mean barely, had any sauce on them or cheese. They should have been soaked in sauce with much more cheese. Overall they were very dry and boring. The inside was just boring shredded chicken without much flavor. Also the rice was not like any Mexican rice you'd expect, it was also not good. I would expect that from a $8 plate but not for double that price. I think it will be our last time ordering food from them. This was a door dash order fyi but non the less their food and it's 2 miles from my house. So it's not like the sauce and cheese evaporated on the drive lol. read more

Absolutely fanstatic dinner. The tamales were some of the best I've ever had and the black beans and rice were done perfectly.

We are visiting from a big city and were looking for a light late night dinner. It was frustrating as everything decent was closed, except for Hola! We asked what their popular dishes were and one of them was the pork ribs. They did not disappoint! They were ah-mazing! We split the meal. The food is good, but what is GREAT is the guacamole made table-side, with a generous margarita to cleanse your palate.

Pretty similar to the other location downtown. Not a huge fan of the sauces since they don't really have that much flavor and are slightly smoky. I think the pico is pretty good, but they only put that with dish I think. Overall, the food is pretty standard and mild and not much flavor for what you pay. read more

On a recent trip to Bend we celebrated my wife's birthday here with 8 adults and 2 kids and we have a great time! The food was hot, fresh, and pretty fast although we were nor in a any hurry, Margaritas were specially tasty and came with the whole shaker so it felt like a great value. In the end for how much we ate and all the countless pitchers of margaritas I felt the bill was a very fair price for the quality of the experience. And to top it off, they didn't impose a gratuity even though we were a party of 10! Some highlights; The guacamole appetizer made fresh at the table was some of the best I've had. Not too chunky, not too creamy, and just the right amount of spice from the fresh chiles... The Saltado was a recommended dish and I got to try a bite of my wife's, it was very tasty! I had the Carne Azada (that's how they spell it) and it hit the spot soaking up my margaritas perfectly. The flank steak was marinated and full of flavor and served with more of the fresh guac. One of my favorite combos is steak and guac so I was stoked! For such a large party the service was great, we never waited for anything. They brought the birthday girl a shot of her choice and made her wear the sombrero for the traditional butchering of the happy birthday song. They even bought me a shot of my choice for picking up the tab, Don Julio, Wohoo! I don't live anywhere near Bend but I would come back to Hola! for sure! read more

I will say this, the service os the only thing that is not making this a 1 star. The food was absolutely awful. I ordered the baja burrito, this burrito came with rice and beans. The chicken was literally just boiled, dry and flavorless. The beans were so waterery i could not pick them up with a fork, and the rice was bland. Went here on a whim last night and it was pretty underwhelming. The chicken was dry and bland. The rice was severely disappointing) I love the Mexican fried that you expect at restaurants; the rice here is just an under-seasoned white rice. My friends were also fairly underwhelmed with 3/4 not really enjoying our meals. One woman server did not wear a mask for a majority of my time at the restaurant. I love all of the Holas in Bend but this Eastside location continues to impress me the most. I've literally never had a less than excellent customer service experience, the food is always spot on fresh and perfectly prepared., and fast. And usually they go above and beyond. Today I asked for salad instead of rice and beans which was accommodated with no extra charge, but the salad was not just a side salad it was a work of art. I was seriously wowed. Almost everywhere that would be an up charge. They just impress me consistently and it seems effortless. read more
