While they are a great option for buying supplies, they also sell doors and windows. After trying the big box places we turned to Hoke for new doors and windows. Their design center is very helpful is guiding us on choosing the right styles and ensuring they would fit. Where they have failed, thus only 2 stars), is delays and communication of fulfilling our custom orders. I understand that, especially with covid, there are lots of delays in vendor manufacturing, but it doesn't excuse the fact I have to constantly call them on or past the due date to get updates. They are very unorganized and often tell me they will have to call me back with an update. They never do. It's been 4 weeks and 10 calls/emails from me and I'm still waiting for delivery. I will not be going back to Hoke. read more

We went to Hoke to get replacement exterior french doors (2 sets plus 2 stationary tall windows to match - $$$$!). We supplied the original door order details from when we first built the house which were the size we needed to have replaced. We also had our installer take the measurements and he supplied Hoke Lumber with the measurements of the doors needed. Our installer works with Hoke very often so he was familiar with their procedure. When the doors finally arrived (Nov 20220, they were the WRONG SIZE! Our Hoke Lumber rep used the door measurements (original and the installer's measurements) as the DOORWAY OPENING INSTEAD OF THE DOOR SIZE! So the doors he ordered were much smaller! He refused to accept any responsibility and claimed that all he had on record was a screenshot of our original blueprint showing the smaller door openings. The rep clearly lied in defense of his job! We had to pay our installer a good amount extra to construct a smaller opening and trim out the Interior and exterior so it wouldn't look so bad. We were looking at Hoke Lumber for other projects but after this horrible experience, they are off our list forever! read more

These bad reviews make my heart sad. I was associated with the Hoke family (mainly, Terry Hoke) years ago. Their business then was very popular and doing well. It is so sad to see how far down they have gone. I will pray that someone will step in and "fix" all that is wrong. And hire some people who care about the job they do! read more

Been using Hoke Lumber for my building materials needs for over 50 years. Very pleased when they relocated to their present state of the art facilities in Mooresville. Always have been treated with respect and treated fairly by the staff. Best quality, cost value and variety of products in lumber, composite decking, hardware, windows, doors, dock supplies. Retired now but when I operated a carpentry business most of my larger material purchases came from Hoke Lumber. Would estimate 95% of the materials used to build my own home and dock came from Hoke Lumber. Highly recommend for both tradesmen and individual home owner projects alike. With the pandemic situation some custom orders are delayed due to lack of manufacturer's inventory. For me, worth waiting for by using Hoke over other suppliers. read more

We were referred to Hoke Lumber by our son who bought decking materials there and was very happy. Our experience was also excellent! We consulted with Jeff and Billy and Mr Hoke on decking material and railing options and felt they were very knowledgeable and helpful. We had two deliveries of the structural lumber and then the decking. Once we saw some deck boards on the site we were not happy with the color and they immediately picked up our order and replaced it with our new color selection the very same day, with no fees added. We also found they had surprisingly better prices on most of the hardware, lumber and decking than the big box stores. Small town company, lots of great service and great prices! I asked for a large quote 6 weeks ago. Unfortunately I'm still waiting. Joe isn't reliable. Take your door business elsewhere.

I went there basically looking for a specific front door. The manufacturer's website said Hoke Lumber was one of their retailers. I dealt with a salesman who acted like he could care less whether he helped me or not. I spent about 30 minutes working with him to identify the door. He finally thought he could locate one and told me he'd work on it and call me back by Monday (this was a Thursday). Monday came and went. As a matter of fact, the entire week passed. I stopped in again the following Monday. Again, the guy acted angry that he was even having to deal with me. At first he didn't even remember me, and when he finally did, he had to dig my paperwork out from under a pile of papers on his desk. He told me the sales rep. for that manufacturer had been in and they had discussed the door. He thought he could get one but would need to follow up with the rep. Again, he told me he'd call me to let me know. It has been 4 months and I have yet to hear back from the guy. I basically gave up on Hoke Lumber. Perhaps someone just looking for a single door isn't worth their effort, but I have to say I will never spend a dime in the place because of the way I was treated. Can't get anyone to return a phone call in regard to ordering a new door. Been there twice to place order and totally ignored. Service is terrible. read more
