I was a contractor for this company started a vinyl siding job they were supposed to provide…read moreequipment to reach the top of the house after 2 weeks they never provided the equipment as a result we had to pull off the job it's now been over a month still have not been paid on this job and now I have to put a lien on the homeowner's property in order to get paid would not recommend using this company or working for this company

So I contacted them for a quote to install some Crown Molding…read more I described the job and where it was located They replied........Our rates are $125 per hour plus a $65 service charge, Any materials and sales tax would be additional I replied ........Yea I dont do by the Hour. It lends its self to slow progress in order to increase profits. The job would need to be quoted. Having just finished building a 3000 sq ft house I know from experience that some contractors take twice as much time to finish the job, and on an hourly rate you have no idea how mush the finish job will cost. They rudely responded....... I'm sorry but that's not what we do. We have the Ace name to stand behind and frankly that's a direct insult to our Craftsman and us here in the office. They are VERY skilled and we do not take advantage of people. We are definitely not a fit for you. Please do not contact us again. I think they need to grow up, business is business and to take it personally is that persons issue. I would not use these people. My guess is that person is a woke young person who lives in a entitled dream world.

Band of Brothers Construction - Nothing is square, level or plumb on an old 1949 farm house but Band of Brothers worked through it with smiles on their faces.

The porch is still under construction but I am writing this review early as I am beyond extremely…read moreplease with their craftsmanship, the ease with working with this company and the sheer pleasure I've had working with the owners and craftsmen. I have an old farm house that is always in need of updating. One of the last big items on the list was rebuilding the back porch after old delapadated one was torn out. I contacted several local guys who either were not interested in this small-ish job or were apparently not eager to earn new business. But when I contacted Band Of Brothers, they scheduled a free estimate right away. When one of the owners (Stephen) came out with their estimator (Tim) I was very confident that these were the guys for me! As a single female trying to keep an old farm and farmhouse up, I have to be wary. I immediately felt at ease with Stephen and Tim and decided on the spot to hire them to rebuild the porch. As I stated, it's an old (1949) farm house and things are not always square, plumb or level! Once the work began, Stephen and his crew led by Mario made me feel extremely confident in their work. I am blessed beyond reason by finding them and will hire them for my next big project which will include a patio and 3 season room. I am so very confident in their work that I am writing this review before the porch is finished. I will add finished pictures when the job is complete. I do not have the words to express how much I love these guys! Did I mention that they are the happiest work crew I have ever had the pleasure to work with?!

My experience with Band of Brothers was incredibly frustrating and now the work they completed is…read morefalling apart and they have not returned any of my calls or emails with the attached pictures. The initial planning process and quote were good. They told us it would take 3 - 4 days to complete. They showed up the first day and took out the old screen porch. The next day they were supposed to start installation. The materials never arrived and I was told the Lowe's truck was in accident. It then took another 2 - 3 weeks for them to get the materials delivered, and then they needed more time for another material. They finally began installation. It was evident this crew was not experienced. For example, they put the drink rails on backwards. In addition, there were several areas where they installed materials that were not flush against the house. Note, they did come back and repair those mistakes and communicated that this was a new crew that was not experienced. After about six weeks, it was complete. Not great, but acceptable. Therefore, I paid them in full and they provided a modest 5% discount for my inconvenience. Note, My wife and I were incredibly patient and understanding through the process, never complained and were incredibly flexible, given we have three dogs and it was not easy when workers were on site, may times unexpected. My main issue with this company is after the job was completed. One of the owners, his name was Steven, helped finish the job and addressed our issues. there was some touch up painting that he said he would come back complete. I could have easily held payment until that was complete, but I also understand small companies need to get paid on time and I did not want to hold their payment over painting and I trusted Steven's word he would come back. He never showed. My wife texted and called at least six times and he never responded. While that was frustrating, I can handle doing touch up on my own. The main issue is the attached photos. These are pictures of the posts they installed coming apart, and other areas that are becoming detached. I have sent them two emails in the past two months, the last email with multiple pictures of their work deteriorating. At this point, all I can say is I would hope a company advertising themselves as veteran owned would operate with honor and integrity. that does not seem to be the case for Band of Brothers. I highly recommend anybody considering this company look for other contractors that finish the work complete and with high quality, and are honest operators.

George, the owner, is a gentleman, but it ends there. I had all of the windows in the house…read morereplaced. No one worked over 4 hours in a day on the windows. First crew: 2 guys the 1st day, 1 guy the second, then no show, then 2 guys, then 1, etc. They removed / installed the windows and did the outside trim, in between moaning about needing money and mentioning what a big tip they got on their last job. The removal of the old windows was not a "cut out" as I was told, but the claw end of a hammer was used to smash and rip out the old windows & outside trim, in addition to any insulation or celotex that was up next to and any where near the windows, leaving exposed areas. The areas around the outside edges of the new windows, only have caulking and a little, if any, erratic spraying of foam insulation and the rest of the area ripped out is still totally exposed (where their once was insulation and/or celotex). When I questioned why exposed areas, I was told that foam insulation would be added as the outside trim was done. The outside trim was totally lacking in craftsmanship. I base this statement on the original trim that was in place. None of the new trim, from window to window, was consistent and was definitely uneven on the same window (flush at the top, protruding on one side, etc). On one window, all of the trim was actually totally recessed, not even far enough out to come flush with the siding. And caulking was more missing than it was anything else. George came out (with one of his other contractors), reviewed, with the contractor agreeing with me, and agreed to correct the outside trim. The second crew (sent in for trim correction) was 1 man, who worked several hours on one window attempting to correct the outside trim. He did not finish the one window nor did he ever return. On a midday Saturday, I got a call from a gentleman saying he was a contractor for G&S who was going to come out to work on the windows. He never showed up or even extended the courtesy of calling me to say he had changed his mind. Next, a crew consisting of a more than several guys came out. I was feeling great. "Finally, we are going to get this done!" Then one spoke up and asked "Did Ray Charles do these windows?" I was not impressed. Now mind you, several months and many crews later, I am not a happy person and am definitely wondering why I chose who I chose. Any way, these guys worked and announced that they were done. I looked things over quickly, said thank you, all is good, you're done, go on your way. The outside trim on one window is still totally lacking caulk, others are missing caulk in some areas, etc. So why did I say "O.K." Go.? If they could not see what they had not done, how many more crews and MONTHS were going to pass by? I just needed for this whole mess to be over. I will finish caulking and correct what I can, and live with the rest. I have already corrected the inside caulk. My wife thinks the house is warmer. I remind her that there is a lot more sunshine coming in through the windows now. I said, feel the metal around the inside edges of the windows where only caulk and erratic, if any, foam insulation was used on the outside and all celotex and/or insulation was removed. The metal is cold on the inside edges. Caulk is not classified as insulation! On this subject, when I questioned the guy who was installing the windows on insulation, he simply replied " you can't use very much expanding spray insulation or it will bind the windows." My question that remains until this day, "have you never heard of non expanding foam insulation?"

It was long past time to replace our 35 year old builder grade windows. I started the grueling…read moreprocess of researching replacements. It drove me crazy! I quickly realized I had to narrow the field down. Some companies DEMANDED that my wife and I both be present for meetings. I guess they assumed we could be pressured into signing right then. Those companies were eliminated right away. If I could manage a multi-million dollar business, my wife trusted me to make decisions about our home. I also quickly ruled out the top two name brand companies (Pella and Anderson) who relied on their name to justify outrageous mark ups but provided lousy warranties. Instead I did a nationwide search for top rated and reviewed windows. I also read articles in a number of consumer sites and magazines. Over time, I narrowed it down to just a few companies. One did not sell in our market (Okna) so that was easy. That left Sunrise as my preferred choice. G&S is the local Sunrise dealer so I met with them. What a pleasant experience!!! Randy Sumrow came out and met with me, listened to my needs and helped me define the scope. He later sent me a quote for the project. There was no pressure, no sign now and you'll get something special or a better discount, no "be a showcase or provide leads" special program! Just a fair and honest quote from a local, family owned business who have been doing this for years. I called him several weeks later and placed our order. Today, they completed the installation and I couldn't be any more satisfied!!! The windows are fantastic and the quality and workmanship involved in the installation is exceptional. Our premises were cleaner when the crew was finished then before they arrived. I am more than happy to take a phone call if anyone has questions. The company can provide my number.
