His gregarious presence and furry touch will calm even the most stressed mind while giving him a good petting will lower blood pressure (I read the blood pressure thing in a CNN article, so it must be true!). He is the perfect assistant for helping his human caregiver colleagues form a stronger connection with their patients. Besides my rave reviews for their therapy dog, I am very impressed with Renewal Care overall. They are the first long-term care services organization in NYC dedicated to the LGBT community. That means they are especially sensitive to employing care partners who embrace each client's diversity. Heck, a good number of the employees are part of the same community, so they definitely can relate! Being somewhat of a Zen practitioner myself, I am also very intrigued by their innovative mindfulness practices approach to working with people with dementia and Alzheimer's. That is definitely not an option my grandparents had from their more traditional elder care service providers. It's never too early nor too late to benefit from being truly present.

Our Mother can get confused during the night and it is very clear to us that she feels calm and safe with CHHA. We are happy that Juana is part of Mother's care team. Also the office staff is extremely cordial, kind and helpfull, I absolutely recommend this agency.

My mom now has two super friendly and kind young women who trade off supporting her during the week. She is so at ease with them. I was talking to her today and she randomly started singing "You're So Vain" and I could hear her companion singing along with her! Honestly I can't say enough good things about this company. The professionalism and personalized care starts right at the top with Larisa and is embodied by every person in the company I've engaged with. I feel like there's this amazing team in place looking after my mom, which is very reassuring since unfortunately I live on the other side of the country.

In looking for a new agency to help with care for my mother, I came across Caring One. They had…read moregood online reviews and an office nearby. Additionally, an aide with whom we already had a working relationship, was looking for a new agency. So, after a couple of back and forth calls with Cassandra and Amilyn, it was decided that our aide would take an interview. We had also gone so far as to discuss what the next steps might be, should this be a good match for both parties. And then, everything went sideways. For no discernible reason, Caring One, after meeting with the aide and doing the initial intake of her information, seemed to then fall off the radar. As a prospective client, I called numerous times, only to be put through to a messaging service each time, without a single call back for more than a week. So, after about a week, my wife, who happens to work near their office, headed over to see if she could speak with someone there. When she arrived, she found a small cubicle, among a larger co-working/shared office space, tucked away on the 20th floor of 14 Wall St., in which sat Cassandra. My wife asked what was going on, and why they hadn't returned any of our calls. Cassandra said something about needing to speak with her boss and not having the answers herself. It's been a week since then and there has been no call back. Bottom line, this should be a major red flag for any prospective client. When you cant get through to an agency at the outset, and once you eventually do, and their reasoning is nonsensical, you should take that as an indication of how things might go in the future. Safe to say that when things get a little confusing or trying, they will likely come up short of your expectations.

I reached out to this agency, and from the initial call and ever since I have been more than satisfied with their compassion, professionalism, and knowledge of how to deal with not only a sick patient but also the patients struggling family members. From my initial call the office staff walked me through the intake process which was very smooth, and a short time later a Nurse practitioner was at my house doing an initial assessment, in which she addressed all of our issues and concerns and also referred us to all the necessary specialists and agencies. I am truly grateful for all of the care and help they provided me and my family and would highly recommend them to anyone that is in need of a highly skilled, and caring medical provider to come to the home. Should I ever be in need of a house call, for another family member I would not hesitate to call them.
