This is an average restaurant- better than a chain but not a five star! I was kinda disappointed. We were driving from Ohio back home to CT, and found this as a dinner stop near where we were staying on the road. I had high expectations from the menu, but I can't say it was the cook's fault. I think it's Covid's fault. I was craving a bbq chicken on the bone, but it was actually a boneless breast heated and tossed on the grill "smothered" with bbq sauce and lots of chewy bacon. It's my fault for just saying, "I'll have the BBQ chicken". I ate a little bit- it was moist- but it wasn't what I thought I was getting. My fault. I only ate a few bites and took it to go to make into a sandwich for later. My sides were ok- the Mac n cheese was made with small elbows with light cheese, (like Kraft) but I really liked the broccoli salad the most of the whole meal! My husband ordered the king prime rib on special rare and had to ask for another piece. The second piece also had no pink on the inside. No horseradish sauce was offered. He said it was good and tender- but not what we're used to and we understand the challenges being faced with Covid. The waitress Molly was sweet and attentive-we think when we drive to Ohio and back again we will give it another go- but try the jumbo wings and enjoy the tasty Orange Crush signature drinks! They could make some good t-shirts for this place- "Gone hoggin" or "Hog Wild"- so many options! I didn't bother taking photos of the food to not deter anyone. read more

Tried to call and make a reservation for 12 people (6 adults, 6 kids) to which they told me they don't take reservations over 10 normally, they would have to ask the manager and call back...2 hours later they call back to tell me we couldn't make a reservation. I told the girl on the phone we would be in anyway to which she replied "ok" I said "thanks" and then she hung up on me. My family and I arrived for 5:15PM, and we were told maybe they would seat us for 6PM. We went outside to wait for the rest of our party. I went in about 20 mins later to let them know we were all here and the owner was extremely rude and told me "maybe they would be able to get us a table but it's going to be a long time and then said they couldn't accommodate us because we would back up the kitchen." I said ok well then I want a table for 6 and my friend will be in to request another table for 6, and he said nope we can't serve you. Mind you they had NUMEROUS open tables in the place, as someone who worked in the restaurant industry I would call it "not busy." He was EXTREMELY rude!!! We called once before to make a reservation for 7 people a few months back too and we're told "it's too busy don't bother coming in tonight." I'm sorry, but as a restaurant, you should be doing whatever it takes to accommodate your customers and get business!!! Never ever treat your customers the way this owner did. Absolutely horrid and I will never ever go back and will let everyone I can know of the experience we had here. We took our party of 12 to Deer Lake Pub and Restaurant in Benton, Pa who were happy to accommodate us and they had a way fuller house...excellent wings and service!!! read more

Nothing like a biker bar to scream good greasy food and cheap beer, and Hogs Hollow has both. In the summer time they have great outdoor seating and tons of events and live music. They have some delicious smoked wings that give you the perfect amount of smokiness to not mask the flavor of your desired sauces. The staff are all super friendly and keep you happy as a Hog in..well you know.. Perfect stop for some comfort food and some cold ones with good friends. read more

Decent, I saw the smoker in back but didn't taste the smoke. Had the wings, pulled pork and crab soup. Be careful with the soup, we were pulling shell pieces out. This place has KILLER wings! You can't go wrong when they smoke them and then fry them, and then they take a bath in saucy goodness. Lots of sauces to choose from, I really like the spicy ranch one. The Hog Fries are also pretty awesome, they come with crispy bacon, BBQ sauce, ranch dressing. Wee accidentally ordered the appetizer and it was enough for 4 people and we had left overs. We decided to have a nice early Sunday dinner and use a gift card we received. Sat at the bar a few people away from a loud obnoxious woman. Could easily tell everyone was disgusted with her. Was later told she was a friend of the owner and she is always like that. Bartender was prompt and polite. Food was average at best. Tried to use my gift card and was told it expired after a year...who knew, complained, didn't help.. No paper towels in bathroom. I was hit in the arm by someone opening a closet door across the hall from the bathroom door. Unpleasant experience, definitely not worth the drive. Will not return. read more

Ate here today for the first time. Fried pickles were not hand dipped. Wings were nothing to rave about. Two brisket sandwiches with fries. Two diet sodas and the bill was nearly $52.00. Did I mention the flies?? Completely unsanitary. At one point there were five of them on our table at the same time. We moved the wing bone dish to the far side of the table to draw the flies away. Nachos were cold and the burger in the nachos was dried out waitress took them back to get a new order.... nope not a new order....still the same cold nachos and the same dried out beef. Pulled pork was cold and dry needed so much extra sauce for a "hog" place did not meet expectations. Stopped here for lunch on Saturday. The place wasn't too busy and we were able to get a seat and place our orders pretty quickly. I got the brisket wrap and the hubs got a crab cake sandwich. My wrap was enormous, with quite a bit of brisket, some lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, and just the right amount of horseradish sauce. The crab cake sandwich was also large. Both were served with a pile of fries. I opted for the sweet potato fries, but the regular ones were tasty too. It was a lot of food for a good price. They just added on and the new addition has a vaulted ceiling, so when music plays it can get a little loud. Plenty of parking and close to Briar Creek Park. Definitely worth a stop. read more

Okay well, first we were told to sit yourself outside deck. There for 10 minutes and had to flag down a food server to get a waitress our way. Then the food, they specialize in smoked bbq, problem is it's not smoked. Then after our meal the owner has his wait staff tell everyone out on the deck that they have to pay a 10.00 cover for the band that was playing in the back field that no one came out to see. A great establishment with great food. Just be careful... I showed up just after 8:00 on a Saturday night and sat down with a group of friends. We were immediately given menus to look over. We proceeded to sit there for over half an hour until we were told the kitchen was closed. We left as everyone around us was served the food they were allowed to order. Definitely better than McDonalds! Stopped on a drive between Ohio and NYC. Off the beaten path and well worth the 8 minute drive from 80. Started with soups French onion and crab. Both were delicious. Next up we had hog fries. They were good enough to qualify for dessert! Entries were ample size. They specialize in barbecue, however the Mexican chicken wrap was delicious. The worst experience ever. Been there many times and had minor issues before. However last night was dollar taco night and you had a choice of beef or pork. I asked for mine to be only lettuce and cheese for I have food allergies. Told nope the come as is and asked to look for something else to eat. Mind you appetizer is served we have a few beers already so I say no thank you, I was going to share my husbands fries which weren't cooked long enough. Asked to talk to the manager who is the owner told he went to the beach, a minute later there he is. Spoke to him his name is Mickey told its to much of a hassle to change a dollar taco like leave off the slaw off the pork taco for the kitchen. Said order something else. Also we get the bill mind you its dollar taco night.. we are charged two dollars for the pork tacos and one dollar for the beef that my husband and our friends got. We asked for two checks since we where paying separate nope one check arrived. Mind you there is nothing that states any of this in the menu or the restaurant. read more

Showed up at 5:00 on a band night (by 6:45 the band hadn't started) Alley (our waitress)wanted to charge us the cover for sitting on the deck, we said only here for food and drinks then leaving. Drinks took about an hour to arrive. (We still hadn't been asked for our food orders.) As we were ordering, when asked, the waitress said it would take about 2 hours for our food to arrive. At that point we left.........so the food might have been wonderful, if we had had any, but the management/head staff is awful. read more

First and last time ever going here. We were in the area to hike Rickett's Glen. There really aren't too many choices of places to go, and now it's down by one. They had a mediocre Ozzy cover band playing out in the field adjacent to the restaurant, for which they were charging a $10 apiece cover charge. We asked the guy collecting the money if we could sit up on the restaurant's deck for dinner without paying the cover, and he said hat was fine. However, as soon as we finished eating, and while other people were still eating, one of the waitresses came up and told us we'd need to either pay the cover charge or move inside. A 4-top of guys that had just sat down got up and left. We asked if we could at least just finish our drinks, and she said she'd check. The band took a break, and one of the band members came up to the deck to chat with a large table of people he obviously knew. They were finished eating, too, and I couldn't help but notice that none of them had wristbands on- they clearly didn't pay the cover but had not been asked to move inside. Total crap. And the food? Also mediocre. Their menu claims that their BBQ is smoked long and on low heat at the premises. I doubt that. My husband smokes BBQ. A LOT. He's actually quite the expert at it. And this stuff? Didn't have half of the smokey goodness that I have come to expect from good BBQ. The sauce was average, too. Decent mac 'n cheese, but who cares when the rest isn't what it should be? Really not surprised there wasn't a bigger crowd there. Probably why the owner decided to go after the cover charge from people who were just there to eat. Pfft. (And pssst- owner- next time, come out and tell people this crap yourself, instead of sending one of these poor young waitresses to do your dirty work. It was my first time there. The ribs that I had were excellent. It's really hard to find a real great smokehouse restaurant like this. I wish they would've had a dark beer on tap . They do have a large selection of bottled beer. I'm already looking forward to a return visit. read more
