Was out wandering around Southern Delaware county and lucked into this beautiful park only opened in 2002 and a new experience for this long time central buckeye. Part of Delaware county Preservation Parks and great place to visit no matter what age. Two easy 0.4 mile trails take you thru some very distinct features of the Hogback Ridge area. The small wildlife museum and the indoor (heated) bird/wildlife watching area, stocked with plenty of information and field glasses. From their guide:"This beautiful wooded park includes trails that wind through a ravine system with hardwood trees and planted pines, and a ravine crossing bridge that takes visitors close to the stream bed. White tail deer, wild turkeys and many other species of birds - including pileated woodpeckers - make their home in the park." 8 a.m. - Sunset, 365 days a year Leashed dogs are allowed in these trails, but you must clean up after them. Mutt-Mitts are available to assist in the clean-up. It's great to see with the amount of growth in Delaware county, green spaces such as this are being saved before they are lost to developments. Kudos to Preservation Parks for the ambitious works done here and other parks in the works. Overall this would make a great place to visit on your own or with a family or group. Nice trails with very nice new facilities. During my trip I not only saw the Ospreys nesting on Alum Creek at Hogback Cliffs but also two pairs of pileated woodpeckers too, Spring flora and fauna abounded.

Nice place to hike. A little hill, steps, wide paths. Perfect for small children. Adventurous teens might find it boring.

This is a really pretty area. We had so much fun exploring the boardwalks through the wetlands - we…read morespotted tiny turtles, frogs and tadpoles, egrets and herons, ducks, and so much more! You can get a nice walk in with the looping combo of paved trail and boardwalk/bridges. There are a few shelters and trees around to help with the sun a bit. On the far end is a playground, with a very nice large shelterhouse with picnic tables. The playground is a lot of wood, metal, and climbing nets, and has sections for ages 2-5 and 5-12. By far the biggest draw appeared to be the very tall, fast slide, accessible via climbing net. There are benches available, and play shades available in one section. A nice sized parking lot is available too.

Huge space to roam, hike, see natural habitats and also let the kiddos climb, slide and swing, etc. -- I did not see restrooms. But didn't get to see all the trails. The paths are mostly gravel and natural elements with a touch of modern engineering here and there. Covered shelter picnic area available. (See pics) Cannot see park from the parking lot. So littles with necessary diaper changes and meltdowns may pose a difficult space to take a break in the car. Parking is a trek from the actual playground. Plan accordingly.

We reserved one of the full hookup sites online and stayed at the end of September 2025. The online…read morereservation site has all the details on lot size, electricity info, distance to showers, etc. However, it's limited in showing different dates, which is frustrating. Anyway, the check-in time is 3pm and check-out is 1pm. We paid fifty-three dollars per night for two adults and one dog, with a six fifty reservation charge. Check-in was easy, and the attendant was helpful; you just drive up to the office, check-in and go on your way. The layout is similar to a subdivision with cul-de-sacs and each spot having its own little yard, making it feel somewhat like camping in the woods. Our neighbors were quiet and most vehicles drove slowly. Everyone we met was pleasant and friendly. The camp itself was clean and easy to hook up. Bathrooms and showers were clean and there was plenty of toilet paper. Large trash bins were available along with gray water stations. The only thing I'd suggest is for the site identifiers to be repainted, as several had faded over time. We visited the beach, but didn't go swimming, given the temperature. The pond is catch and release and seemed maintained and not stagnant. The budget limitations need to be considered before passing judgment. We used bug spray every day and that seemed to help keep the bugs away. The site we booked had a level surface and plenty of room to back in. The water and electrical were easily accessible and worked fine. A lot of campers used an inline water filter. The water quality report is on the park website for anyone interested. The grass was well trodden, making a camp rug a must-have. There was also a fire pit with a grill attached, but we didn't use it to cook. Also, at the time, there wasn't a burn ban. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and we'll definitely return. It was fun to walk down the aisles and see all the setups and decorations and note future camp site options. How many campers are long-timers, it's hard to tell. But we were pleased and our dog loved exploring on our walks.

There were a few different food trucks lined up as well. I'll likely bring swim shoes next time because I didn't enjoy feeling the bottom of the creek, but I had a fun time floating around and lounging on the shore.
