I really like this park - a good combination of open spaces and wooded areas, the dog park looks amazing, the bathrooms are clean and there is plenty of parking. The trails sometimes have muddy spots, so come prepared for that, but it's a park, that's pretty normal. read more

The map of the trails is all color coded and looks pretty straightforward, but all I could figure out after walking 12K steps (unintentionally) was they call all of the trails the multi-purpose trail with the one exception (Red something trail that was in the woods,). There were no signs or colors for trails along the way. If you decide to venture out anyway on foot, at least bring a gallon of water in the event you have gone the wrong way and need to walk all the way back like I did. read more

Great place for walking, running and hiking with lots of trails. Most trails are paved so it is stroller friendly. There is a dog park and playground if you have kids or dogs. There is also a warrior ninja course also! Great park for all ages and interest. Highly recommend. read more

This is a beautiful park with a lot of land, miles of walking / bike trails, and plenty of play areas for kids. All of the trails are paved which makes it nice and easy to walk and/or bike. I walked roughly 5 miles on the ironweed trail. It's mostly flat, but part of the trail leads through the trees and then opens up to a big field. There's a challenge course in the middle of the park which has hills, balance beams, monkey bars, basically anything and everything that would be fun for a kid to climb on. It definitely was a popular place to be on a Sunday as there were a lot of families and kids there. I had no issues finding the place and there was plenty of parking. All in all if you're looking for a good place to hike, walk, or bike this is a good park to check out! read more

Located in Plain City, Ohio is the most beautiful park I've observed in a while. Also known as Glacier Ridge. Easily accessible by getting off US 33 highway or taking back roads like me to Hyland Croy Road. The park has two entrances I guess one is right off Hyland Croy and the other is 2 miles up the road. I got off the first entrance. There was a small parking lot. Definitely a great park for taking the kids to play, ride bike, run, etc. I have even seen people try to do an American Ninja Warriors race here so do whatever your heart is content. What I like about this park versus others in Columbus area, the paths seem wider for runners, bikers, mom's in strollers to pass. I actually did 13.1 miles last Saturday to complete my first half marathon but it was a beautiful day and path to make it happen even though it was virtual and not downtown like the real event would be typically held. I will definitely be back as I have plenty of other runs, biking events on my calendar to complete! I am definitely bringing friends next time! read more

This is a fun metro park - lots of different activities for the whole family. Includes natural play areas lots of different types of hiking trails including dog friendly areas. Ones that are good for biking as well. It's a larger park so there's lots of space to spread out and find an activity. There's a disc golf area in addition to A challenge course to get in a workout. read more

Disc Golf is the 52 card pick up of outdoor sports. I spent half the time trying to get my disc from the tick infested high grass. I was counting down the levels until I finally got to go home. I'm not experienced by any means, but I personally found the course terrifying. The rest of the park is excellent. There was a ranger presence so it felt safe, there were multiple playgrounds and hiking courses if that's your thing. read more

I love this park in general but the recent additions have made it spectacular!!! I just love this place. Walking, running, biking and rollerblading amenable. The scenery is amazing! However the highlight of my recent visit was the outdoor obstacle course! There are 10 challenges on this course and it's literally an adult playground. They also have a children's version with zipline. Oh and they have an outdoor workout area that includes ropes, box jumps, uneven bars, parallel bars, and monkey bars! I have always enjoyed the hiking trails and meadows of this park but now there's even more activities! They built a new challenge course to exercise and run on. Another wooden play area and what looked like some skate ramps. I went today because Bailey and I wanted to try out the new dog park. She gives it 4 paws up. She loved investing the woods and running through the grass parts. There is a gravel trail through the woods and paved in other areas. Hose to wash off and drinking fountain for humans and dogs. One caveat she did have a tick on her but ticks are going to be outside in meadows and parks. It's called nature. read more

My 3 sons said this was the BEST Playground they have ever gone to, and I have to agree with them. The place is very large and open with multiple places to play and explore. It is also better for kiddos on the older side who love being very active, a lot nicer than a traditional playground. They also have a course for adults, which is a great idea. My boys, 9, 8, and 4 were still able to do most of the parts on the adult course which was great cause it was a little extra challenging for them. A beautiful wood playground with a lots of climbing, ropes and physical activities. It also has walking trails and a dog play area. There is a traditional playground as well as a play area in the woods which encourages kids to play with sticks and nature. I was so pleasantly surprised that there were so many different things to do. Love, love, love. We will be back! read more

What a wonderful park with a lot to do! Jungle gym for the kids, disc golf course and an obstacle course! Plus covered and open trails with benches for a peaceful day outdoors. I've never felt unsafe at the park and there are always families around having a good time. The bathrooms are pretty clean compared to other parks I have been to, even if there are some ladybugs inside :) I came here recently for a 5k and the park rangers and staff were very friendly and helpful with parking and navigating the area. read more

This park is great! I usually go through the entrance North of Jerome High School. I believe it's the main entrance. The bathrooms are really clean, with toilet paper and hand soap. I once forgot my current model cell phone on the bathroom sink. Didn't even notice my phone was missing until 2 and half hours later, already back at home. I called it, and a park ranger answered it. My phone was safe, logged into lost and found registry, waiting for me to retrieve it. How great is that?! One more thing I find worth mentioning is, there's a bicycle pump and tools available. I've never seen that before. There are paved paths for running, bicycling, walking (leashed) pets; also trails that go through the woods where no pets are allowed. Gives you different experiences, different views. I like that! read more

Despite the fact that two of the metro parks have the word "Ridge" in their names, Glacier Ridge and Chestnut Ridge have very different terrains and hiking experiences. Having recently been to the very tall Chestnut Ridge recently, I was not expecting all of the flatland with very modest hills in the Glacier Ridge area. But there is a lot to discover here too. A neat offering at Glacier Ridge is the opportunity to learn more about renewable energy at the Wind and Solar Learning Center. A wind turbine and a couple of solar panels are used to power the electricity in the bathrooms on the north side of the park, and there is signage providing info. There are fields, woods and mature forest, and there is a nice wetland education area with an observation tower and boardwalk near the south entrance of the park. Both sections of the park can also be accessed by taking the bike trail (which also allows pets and hiking/jogging). In addition, there is a disc golf course and a bridle trail, plus a shelter and play area near the restrooms. Another enjoyable park in our metro park system! read more

I love this park, its not far from home and provides some great birding opportunities. The trails are beautiful with rabbits, deer, and other animals often being spotted. This park is excellent, especially if you have kids. There's many places for them to run around and jump on. There is a challenge course that is great for pretty much all ages, as well as a nice dog park and lots of walking trails. Excellent for either bikes, skateboards, scooters or walking . This park is definitely in a beautiful area, as well as being well-maintained. Since this is a Columbus Metro Park, they're always going to keep it clean up. I've seen Park Rangers on site just in case of anything , which is comforting. This park definitely goes down as a must see if you were up in the Dublin/Powell area. read more

I live right by this park and LOVE LOVE LOVE the trails here. I am still a big rollerblader (Ihello, 1992) and the "Marsh Hawk" trail here is awesome for blading and biking. Its 3 miles, paved, and weaves in and out between sunshine and shaded forest scenery. The park is pretty quite when I go, so you feel like you have the trails to yourself. There is only 1 kiddy play area and nice public restrooms and drinking fountains. They also have a Frisbee golf course, horseback riding trails and cross country skiing trails in the winter. read more

A great park in the Dublin area for walking, running, biking, blading or even horse-back riding. The northern end of Glacier Ridge has about a 2.6 mile paved main loop that is flat and circles through mostly open fields and some wooded areas. There are also additional shorter walking/hiking trails through the wooded areas. On a weekday, come here for the solitude, because it will not be very crowded. A good place to come after work and unwind with some excercise. The park also features a playground, rest rooms, picnic shelter and a nice 18-hole disc golf course. It is connected to the southern end of Glacier Ridge (aka Honda Wetlands) by a paved bike trail, about 3 miles long. The park is enjoyable in all seasons of the year. Deer and other wildlife are plentiful. The only drawback I can think of is that most of the path is very open, and it can be very windy, and a little bit of "sun stroke acres" at times. read more

Janet L and I came here on a blustery fall afternoon to try and enjoy the last bits of sunshine before the winter sets in. There are two entrances to the park (hence the two listings), but the northern entrance has the most amenities (solar-wind powered restrooms, picnic shelter, playground). As mentioned by Laura J., the park is pretty flat and mostly grasslands, which makes it perfect for walking, biking, and skating; not so much for actual hiking. We stuck to the main loop around the wind turbine/solar panels, and didn't go as far as the Honda wetlands area, which may have been more interesting. It certainly wasn't very crowded, probably due to the slight chill in the breeze. Although I found the displays about the solar and wind power interesting, I probably wouldn't make the drive all the way out here again when there are other parks with more variation and more trails. I was astonished as I was driving in, though, at the houses and suburban development in the area. Where else will you see luxury apartments and massive fabricated waterfalls and a fake vineyard and an ostrich farm all along one road? read more

3 stars for the disc golf course. I like this park but their disc golf course is a pain because of narrow fairways with horrible weeds full of tics. The course is long if you play the long tee but they don't have many dog lags or complex basket lies. I believe with a lot of thought and trimming away the tall weeds that this course could be made a top one in cubs. The rest of the park looks pretty nice as their are bike trails, horse paths, and a decent playground. I am rating on disc golf and not the other amenities. read more

Awesome paved trail runs throughout the trees that are well shaded. Well used by families and schools so it's pretty busy after 5 PM. There are a little work out parks located along the trails which are pretty good for stretching and arm workouts. The only Metropark that I've been to so far that has trails longer than 6 miles without looping back. read more

Great place to ride bikes! Has a cute wetlands area and a tower to climb at one end of the park! The other end really upped its game by recently adding an obstacle course, a wooden play area and a dog park (in addition to the playground, trails, and bridle trails it already had). My one compliant is- as someone who frequently competes in obstacle races, I was excited for the course to open up, however, there are often families full of kids climbing all over the obstacles, making it difficult to practice. Great facility, but with the bikers passing us as we were walking on the paths we felt like we were taking our lives in our hands. The paths are for everyone to use. No dispute there. But when a biker passes you at full speed it's a bit disheartening. And if they can ride that fast within a park why can't they use the bike paths all over Dublin? read more

This metro park is a great place to bring the kids to play, Walk the dog or to bird watch. This one may not be my favorite metro park but is one that meets the needs of the nature lover. This is conveniently located near Dublin and Powell. read more

This is a great park for winter. Whether you're walking, running or biking you'll find paved paths through wooded areas, open fields and wetlands. The majority of the park is in the open so I don't think this would be the best spot in the summer, at least for those of us who don't get along with the sun. Very cool & pleasant place to walk. You can enjoy long walks, run, bike rides and even frisbee & golf. They also have activities like petting zoo and kite flying,etc. The trails were well marked and the bathrooms were clean. Nice and serene place. This is a wonderful park for hiking and biking. There are two entrances to this park. The south entrance has a boardwalk trail through a marsh area, and a bike trail that leads to the north entrance. The "north" park has several loops for walking; in both wooded areas, and grassy plains. They also have a disc golf course, horseback riding trails, and a nice playground. read more

I have walked at this park numerous times. It's not that I love this park, it's just that it is mid-way between my home and that of a walking buddy, so it has been a convenient place to meet. It's not a bad place to walk, but it's very flat and there are long stretches that are not shaded. Although I love the outdoors, I'm not crazy about being in the sun for long periods of time. In my opinion, it doesn't take long to get bored with this park. It does offer horseback riding trails, if you're looking for that. It also has a wind turbine that provides all of the power for the park - I think that's kinda cool. But just for walking, I prefer places that are a little more scenic and interesting. read more

Worst park if you're a dog owner. Every trail is closed off to pets, which leaves you with a couple patches of grass that are usually taken over by families. The others that are free are most likely flooded. I read the reviews of a lot of ticks and thought "oh like anywhere outside" to my surprise within minutes of being out of the car I pulled two off of my dog. Will not be returning to this park. read more

We finally drove up to Glacier Ridge and found it to be quiet, with nice trails for walking, although as the other reviewer said much of the walking is not shaded. Not as scenic as Highbanks or other central Ohio parks, but nice. We noticed a sign along the trail that goes through the grassy plains that warned of ticks. Sure enough, we BOTH had ticks on us when we got home. The park must be infested with them as we didn't venture off the paved path! Of course now we are paranoid that our two dogs are tick-ridden. read more
