I've lived in the area full-time for a year and had no idea this old country store existed. There's…read morean old weathered grey sign down by the reservoir that says "Bait shop 3 miles" that I thought was from times past. Nooooo and Yesssss. I was doing a Yelp search for a deli and this place popped up. It's not in downtown Andes so the nearby function hadn't shown it. It's an old timey country store/corner store with its Coca Cola soda case and home made cookies. They've got a little bit of everything that you could possibly need from Crisco and vegetable oil to high end vinaigrette, specialty marinara sauces, and jams. They sell books on the area and a local author popped in to pick up some bread and drop off a couple of more copies up his book. There's also free used books; I picked up Sidney Poitier's "The Measure of a Man". The prices are high but typical for a place pretty far off any regular delivery route. They're open every single day except Christmas Day. That's unheard of in this area and that's why they get 4 stars. If their prices were a little bit less then they'd get 5 stars.

A very cute older couple runs the place and they are really friendly. It's kind of the classic country store with older guys having coffee over the coke machine. They have a deli, very good, very huge rolls, some camp gear, some canned goods, sodas, beers, some produce, etc. It's also a gas station and they take credit. While the owner sliced our deli meats he told us his life story. Really nice guy. The other owner said they served sandwiches all day too. ps, There's no cell service in the area - but this place is a wifi hotspot!
