Found my tire deflated after leaving a mattress store nearby. Couldn't make the 50+ mile drive home with temporary and stopped in to Hogan at nearly 4:40 on a Friday. Though busy, Morgan at the front desk and wonderful mechanic who;s name was something like Heneretta (?) kindly accommodated our needs, pulled a good size screw from my tire, plugged it and sent us on our way with a smile. I brought my daughter's car in for a wheel alignment on 9/29/25. I asked for the report of the before and after on the suspension settings. I noticed after I left the car listed on the report was not the car I brought in, different model and year. I returned to the N.Beverly store to request the correct paperwork for our records. I was told that only a manager could fix the issue and none was there, but they would email me the corrected paperwork. That was six weeks ago with no response. The only proof I have that the work was done is paperwork on the wrong car! Time for a more professional shop. read more

I have used Hogan tire in the past with ok service. If you have an appointment and willing to spend slightly more than other service centers, then you'll be happy. Just don't expect them to plug a tire for you to enable you to get your vehicle back on the road without an appointment. I asked with the added incentive of replacing all four tires at a latter date but they couldn't accommodate a simple ten minute task that would have greatly helped me out with ferrying kids around. They of course were more than happy to quote me on the replacements (which in that time could have fixed the tire). I'll never consider Hogan again as they could try to be more accommodating for such a simple ask. read more

I dropped my car off early morning and got a front end alignment done, they finished before expected time , went to pickup car and it went back out of alignment, they refunded me and took it back for a re alignment and found out my car had a broken tie rod causing it to go out of alignment anytime it was aligned. these people helped me out and went above and beyond my expectations. Booked an appointment to get my ac fixed because there is a leak in a hose and I can't reach it to fix it myself. I get there and as soon as i told the guy my year make and model he told me that hes pretty sure they cant do it because its a newer system. So I wasted an entire day waiting for an appointment. If this person knew just by my truck info that he couldn't help me, why is there not a system in place to check the reservations and let people know in advance? I do wish to say the person I spoke with was as helpful as could be given the circumstances and seemed very apologtic. They did go double check under the hood but basically told me I have to go to the dealer. read more

What other business takes walk ins or late arrivals before scheduled clients? I have used Hogan in Beverly for over 10 years, a repeat customer who has been mistreated and wants to share my experience with others considering this facility. Twice in the past 3 years I have taken my car for the seasonal tire changeover for a scheduled appointment, arrived on time, informed them that I would be waiting and received confirmation at that time that my car would be ready in about 1 hour. Twice, while sitting there, they took in another car whose owner arrived after I did for tire work before mine. This time, after more than the described hour for completion had passed I asked how much longer it would take and was told it would be another 1.5 hours "because we are short staffed today". I asked why I wasn't told that when I arrived or at some point during g the hour I was waiting, while the guy whose car they took in ahead of mine looked embarrassed. Let's just say they did not have a good answer. I am not a difficult client, have been patient and respectful, but I don't like how the staff at Hogan Tire in Beverly has treated me. Their prices were better than the chain store and I made an appointment that went like clockwork. They finished when they said it would be, and didn't charge me for an alignment that I didn't need. Ask for costs prior to any work that you have done at Hogan's. I have owned cars for 45 years and I have always been told the repair costs prior to the commencement of work. I had a tire with a slow leak and it was determi es to be a valve stem leak. The valve stem was repaired for a whopping $35. They charged an additional $5 to press the button to reset the TPMS light and an additional $3.47 recycling fee....for a tiny valve stem. The same they charhe for a tire. The next morning the tire pressure on the repaired tire was 24 psi (from 32 psi). I brought it back to Hogan's and they attempted to gaslight me stating that "it's normal to lose that amount of pressure when it's cold out". Not that much. I had them check the pressures and refill all tires. They also refused to refund the bogus recycling fee. If I need tires, I will go to a competitor. read more

Brought car in 3 days ago for slow leak in rear tire. Was told I needed stem replaced - $93. Very next day, tire is low again. Go back and asked about work on stem and was told that it was front tire - which was never even low - that they replaced stem on. Couldn't really get a straight answer on why they had done work on a tire that had no problem - lots of "umming" and looking to the ceiling. Then was told rear tire had puncture but because of the location it couldn't be plugged, BUT, of course, they could sell me another tire. Took it to my auto shop who plugged it for $20. This shop, and perhaps whole chain, is, unfortunately not what it was. My advice for tire repair is to find a reputable dealer and seek their advice. I will not return here and, when I do need tires, will ask my auto shop not buy from Hogan. read more

Burned twice... Got an incentive to get a Synthetic OIl change for $47 plus 2.75 disposal fee... Was charged 79.00 which was 10 off 89 dollar regular change...Needed oil change ...wont be back...have purchased Firestone tires previously buy 3 get 1 free...when checked out was told only honor 75 off so is really was by 3 get 3/4 tire free...false advertising..Massachusetts AG needs to correct this type of advertisement. I had to get an oil change today. Trying to avoid another place I went online yesterday to the website and they let you schedule oil changes online. Entered all my info and took a look and they had a 10:00 appointment available so I grabbed it, timing was perfect. I get the a little early and there was a line which was fine. When I get to the front of the line they ask for all my info again, ok. Then they tell me they have to check to see if my truck will fit in there bay, it is a pickup. The decide it will but it would be at least 3 hours before they could get to it. There I stand at now 10:25 and they can't do it until after 1:00. They offered me an appoint for tomorrow but what time would that be, Thursday morning? Why offer an appointment if they don't keep a schedule. I did hear someone say that someone broke down in front of the shop by why do they get to jump the line that is already scheduled. Was not very pleased with the treatment. At 10:00 maybe they should have been finishing up on the previous appointment but to be 3 hours behind is just not right. I did find someplace else and I am all set now. read more

Tires. Round black things on the car. You use them up fast when you are ripping around at track events. Well it came time for me to lose the ALL SEASONs the car came with. I purchased at set of winter tires. Why get them at Hogan? Well their prices were with in reason of all the rest. Perhaps it was the closeness to the train station which allowed me to hop a ride and get to work that day. The price was good. They had the car ready for me when I arrived to pick it up. So why the bland review. Well the rims were all greased up from the hands of the staff. Just after I had the car cleaned. Then the bums tried to take my valve stems caps. When I asked them about the caps they stared at me like I was mad. Well I was mad, reallly pissed off actually. I went into the service bay and found them on a work bench. So I am on the fence about using them again. I will be back to get summer tires once this fall weather comes to an end. I am just not sure if I will use them again. read more

This is an update to my initial review a year and a half ago when I first bought a full set of tires from Hogan. Since that review all my experiences with them have unfortunately been negative. 1. I set an appointment weeks in advance to change my tires over to snows. I made it for the first appointment of the day and said I would need to wait for it and was told it would be 1-1.5 hrs. My plan was to get it done and get to work on time. The morning I arrived I reminded them I would be waiting for it and was told it wouldn't be ready for several hours! They knew my plan -didn't care, no apology. I had to reschedule. 2. Made an appointment online and listed exactly what I wanted done: oil change and tighten a drive train bolt to correct torque per manufacturer's maintenance specification. My appointment was confirmed. When I dropped it off was told they couldn't do it because they didn't have a torque wrench!! What mechanic doesn't have a torque wrench? That's nuts. And they advertise specifically that they are a full service mechanic and do manufacturer scheduled maintenance. 3. I just brought it in again to do the snow tire change. While waiting for my car, I listened to the big guy (same fast-talking guy who doesn't have a torque wrench) quote insanely inflated prices for repair work to two different distraught customers who clearly knew little about cars. What I heard and saw convinced me that they are scammers. I went online and saw multiple reviews corroborating my observations. Very disappointing. I'm done there. Never going back. read more

Buyer Beware! This is no longer the same Hogan Tire(Beverly location) that we knew and loved. After having been a customer for over 20 years they totally tried to scam me. Told me I needed new front and rear brakes, including calipers, pads and rotors. Told me they could get the job done that same day for $2200 and some change. After they gave me the price I talked with my son and he said the price was high and to ask them to give me back all the old parts. I called back and asked for that and about 10 minutes later they called back and told me they could not do the job. Few days later I went to Ira Toyota and they did rear brakes, pads and discs. Toyota said my calipers were fine and my front breaks were perfectly fine. What a disappointment. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 8:15 am morning at Hogan tire's in Beverly. Dropped my car off for an oil change and tire patch - that's it. Went back to Hogans at 11am. The car hadn't moved. I waited in the lobby walking past the boss and another guy. At 1:10 PM I gave up and wanted my keys. The friendly guy said that the car was done at 9:30 AM and that they texted me. I got no text because the owner put in the wrong number. Should have known when I saw the white hair and how much he struggled to enter my info into the computer! They saw me sitting in the waiting room they thought I was with somebody else but for several hours? What about when I was the only one in the lobby! Unbelievable never again. Made an appointment online for two new tires, oil change, and some suspension work. They quickly followed up via email, ordered my tires before I got to the shop, got the work done faster than I expected, and even applied unexpected discounts. They didn't try to sell me extra parts, labor, or more expensive tires - just did what I asked. That's what I'm looking for in a shop! Very happy with these guys. Will come back. Recently brought my car in for estimate because tail pipe was dragging and need to get sticker, no loud exhaust noise or smoke etc, just low tail pipe... They gave me $1486.43 estimate, said I needed new catalytic converter, muffler and tail pipe. I immediately said no thanks, after I noticing: 4 guys in the office, 1 guy in the Bay..I took it to another local guy a mile away, he said I could probably use a new muffler and tailpipe $400.00.. he showed me there was nothing wrong with my convertor. solid as a rock. read more

After buying tires the folks in Beverly could not get my low tire pressure warning light out and the dealership charged me $250 for a new sensor and reprogram. After my less than stellar review I got a call from one of the Hogan's himself and shortly thereafter a check in the mail. I gotta give Hogan credit for following up and resolving the issue. The tires I needed are not everyday tires so research was needed to find the tires and get them ordered. They found them and put the order in while I was there. DO NOT GO. recently had a flat tire and had my car towed to hogan to be replaced. Hogan had done a full set of tires for me less than two years ago and we had purchased some warranties from them so it made sense fo go back there. When i went to pick up my car the two men at the front desk were extremely rude and short with me. When i inquired about the warranties purchased they told me that because it was on my past receipt with $0 next to the line item it meant i didn't have it?? Except for the fact that most line items had $0 listed next to them. He then proceeded to tell me that "he didn't do the work" previously and that 2019 was "WAY back" and they couldn't look my car up in their system. My family has taken 6+ cars to them over the years and the service gets worse and worse. He could've at least politely explained the different warranties and what to do next time. I've always gone to Hogan Tire because not only were the prices right, but I felt they were honest with me as well. However, There was a time when my husband was sitting in the lobby and he over heard one of the workers joking about trying to see how much money they could get some lady to pay for services. He told me the guy had glasses on and he was the taller of the two. I don't usually go when that guy is there so I thought nothing of it and kept going since it was mainly for oil changes. My Last visit there I asked for and oil change and a tire rotation. They came out to tell me I had to do my front breaks. I said ok, but I'll have my friends dad take a look because he orders me certain break pads that I like to use. He then said ok, but you also have a few other things wrong. I said alright what is a quote for that. He gave me the starting quote for each side... I was able to have my mounts and struts, and my front breaks done all for less than the price they quoted me to "start" with at Mike's Garage. Mike from Mike's Garage was up front and knew exactly what the price would be no more no less. He does not do something that doesn't need to be done etc. Anyways, after I had that work done I had to get a car alignment done. The guys from Town Fair Tire told me my tires were not rotated at my last oil change like I told them they were. They said it looked like they hadn't been done for a while. And this was all in the same month. Needless to say, I used to go to Hogan because I trusted everything they did and I trusted their word. I gave them a shot after what my husband over heard them saying. But as it started to look more and more like the truth... WARNING: The Hogan technicians are shady. Get a second opinion; it could save you $850! I have been a loyal Hogan Tire Beverly customer for years. But I recently went in to get a noise checked out on my front driver side wheel and got a ~$1250 quote for replacing both driver and passenger side front axles and sets of wheel bearings. I was suspicious right away. I just had my the passenger axle and bearing replaced a few months earlier. I went to another shop and the mechanic confirmed the passenger side was fine and did not need to be replaced. He also noted the labor charge was excessive. I got a quote for $400 to do the same job and saved $850 by doing so. I will look elsewhere for all future wheel service. Watch out for the mailer with free offer to balance wheels, you may get taken for an expensive ride you didn't need to take. read more

Went to Hogan to get a tire checked and repaired or replaced, get lug nuts replaced due to another garage replacing some with the wrong size and my lug wrench (and AAA's) wouldn't fit on the lug nuts, and an oil change. Was given quotes over the phone of $153 to replace the tire (installed) and do the oil change. They got a price on the lug nuts and asked if I wanted all of them replaced because the sizes were odd due to "swelling" - yeah, I had never heard of this either. I asked how much, they told me $50.00 and I said yes. The lug nuts that were delivered to them were the wrong ones so they let me take the car, I paid for everything in advance and dropped it off again that night so that the next morning they could put the correct lug nuts on first thing. I picked up the car, brought it home and looked over the bill. The lug nuts were $30 more than I was quoted over the phone and everything else - tire and oil change were not exactly what they quoted either - one more and one less. The person that rang me up gave me one discount from them and I had a 5% AAA discount. The total I paid ended up being more than $10 over what the total should have been. The next day, after they replaced the lug nuts, when I went to pick up the car I spoke to one of the employees there about this. He was nice, but kept coming back with - the lug nuts were the wrong ones and these were more expensive. I kept saying - maybe that's the case, but no one told me about this. I gave the go ahead when it was $50 to replace all of them, not $79.00. He finally understood what I meant and kept going through the bill. He said that he couldn't figure out how the person that rang me up came up with this number, but he could see that they owed me money. He told me that Mike the manager would call me the next day and get this straightened out for me. That was just over 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard a word. I don't feel like going back and getting into an argument with anyone. Just thought that I would document it so that others are warned that what they verbally quote you may not be what they actually charge you. Make sure you get it in writing. Usually I get all of my work done at Bill's Auto Repair in Woburn - Bill is INCREDIBLE and is ALWAYS busy - with his lot always filled(he's efficient at getting the work done too, just has a constant flow). I went to Hogan this time only because my tire was flat, I and AAA couldn't get the lug nuts off (even with AAA's 4 ended lug wrench) and they filled the tire with air - but since I didn't know if it was a slow leak or not I didn't think I'd make it to Woburn from Beverly, so figured Hogan was safer. When I dropped the car off, there were only a couple of cars in the lot. When I came back the next night about 45 minutes before they closed the mechanics had already left for the day and the employee that rang me up was just sitting in the waiting area watching tv. When I dropped the car off later that night so that they could start on the lug nuts first thing in the morning - my car was the only one there. The next day only a couple of cars again when I came to pick up mine. So I'm not sure this place has many customers. I guess if you quote a price and then change it later, that could have an effect on people coming back. I understand that we all make mistakes, but this should have been immediately rectified - but it's apparent this isn't important to the manager. Would have been great to have a local place to go to. My mechanic at No. E. Auto lab in Beverly recommended a certain tire for my SUV. It was out of stock and I intended to travel before he could get them for me. I found them online at Hogan. Convenient for me and they could install them in 1 day. That was the positive. And the price was the same that my mechanic quoted so that was good too. Hogan said 1 hour to install, it took 90 minutes. When I was settling my bill, the price was $60 more than I was quoted the day before, I asked if that included the $60 off for getting 4 tires. He adjusted the price, without any apology or mention that he may have overlooked that I qualified by buying 4 tires. Reputable businesses always tell me when I'm getting a "deal" or discount. Not only as good customer service but to give themselves props. I was very disappointed to know if I hadn't read that discount online, I would not have received it. read more
