Hoff's Hounds is amazing! You can tell they truly care about the pups. They send pictures and updates during boarding so I am always reassured that my anxious puppy is doing well. When my dog had a hot spot he kept licking, they tended to it and even put him in a cone and they also called to let me know, which is greatly appreciated. My dog and I love Hoff's Hounds!

My puppy had his first groom here this week, and I absolutely loved it! She did exactly what we were hoping for. They were very thorough with our request. They took great care my puppy chino, we will definitely be repeat customers.

This was my first time here and my first time getting my corgi groomed. I was told he did amazing with no issues. I was pleased with his haircut, although I wish more was taken from the front. Maybe I should've specified that more. It wasn't until later when we were going to bed that I noticed he had an ugly cut near his private area. I understand that trimming that area may be difficult, but I should've at least been told about it. That's really my only complaint. I love the shampoo they used. It's been a few days and he still smells wonderful.

Up charged on every service. Charged an excitable fee on 7 month old GR during his bath and nail trim. They didn't even trim his nails but charged me extra and the fee. He came home with a nasty rash on his throat after pick-up. Customer service is bad and wasn't even worth trying to have a conversation with anyone. Tried calling the owner and just got voicemail each of the 3 tries.

First, I want to let you know that my Stella girl should be okay, after she had to have TONGUE REPAIR SURGERY. Thank you to the dozens of you who have reached out to me offering prayers, support & condolences. Sadly, I can NOT say that I got the same care & concern from the OWNERS of HOFFS HOUNDS. I received a message from the owner last night AFTER I posted online about my experience. She admitted her "groomer" misinformed her & "down played" the "nick" she gave my dog. That's Problem #1. Problem #2: The owner did NOT bother to call us after leaving their facility to check on Stella. A phone call like, "I was informed by my employee that she nicked your dog. I just wanted to see how she was doing." would have gone a long way. Problem #3: The groomer is clearly unskilled, deceitful & poorly trained. Problem #4: HOFF HOUNDS admitted they needed to relook at their internal procedures for notifying the dog owner when incidents like this occur. They just figured that out now? This wasn't one of the FIRST protocols in place before they opened their doors for business? Problem #5: Upon entering their facility this morning with my husband, we were brought back to an office. There was a counter height table with four chairs. Myself, the groomer, & my husband all took seats. The owner remained standing. (Customer service 101 & general social psychology knowledge tells you effective communication skills are not just about the words you use. Body language and tone all matter. She remained standing, thus inserting her dominance & superiority & ultimately her defensiveness over the situation.) Neither the groomer OR the owner wore masks. My husband and I did. Problem #6: I wish I could say that the first words out of the owner's mouth were, "Ma'am, first please tell me, how is Stella doing?" NOT ONCE DURING OUR ENTIRE CONVERSATION DID SHE ASK HOW MY DOG WAS DOING. Problem #7: She did begin by apologizing. She admitted she didn't know how bad it was until she saw my pictures online & her phone was blowing up from people contacting her about it. Again, had she CALLED to check in on my dog she wouldn't have had to learn of her condition via social media & be surprised. Problem #8: As she proceeded to speak, I tried to ask what happened. She cut me off and told me SHE was speaking first. WHOA! Customer service at its finest at HOFFS HOUNDS. Clearly, this immediately made things go sour from there. As she (the owner) continued to speak, I choose to look at the groomer. The owner, STOPPED TALKING because I wasn't looking at her! Parents, teachers, anyone out there: you know how when you are talking to a kid & they aren't looking at you so you stop speaking? How many of you (I know I have) have stopped mid-sentence and told that child, "Look at me while I am speaking to you?" While she didn't say those words- again NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION and her choosing to stop talking, implied such. MIND YOU: she is STANDING at this time. Not once did she sit down & join us at the table to have a conversation. Problem #8: As you can imagine the conversation sadly did NOT go well. She cut me off while I was trying to get further clarification from the groomer & herself & she left the room. Not sure her exact words but they were something to the effect of "this conversation is over". She returned with her checkbook. She proceeded to write a check & I told her to wait. She then cut me off & said "What, you think I won't pay you the rest if the cost ends up being more?" I stated "Uh, no. Had you let me finish, what I WAS going to say is that I'd rather WAIT until I pick up my dog from the vet & get a final total incase the amount is LESS than what we originally paid last night." We left & went to the vet, informing her we'd return with an itemized invoice. Problem #9: We returned. I had invoice in hand. No "Hello". No, "How is Stella?" (Another MISSED OPPORTUNITY to show care/concern) I stated, "Stella is doing okay, thank you for asking." She replies she was glad to hear. Upon leaving, I warned the lady behind me to be careful they don't cut her dogs face. Just a word of caution. Legit. Well within my right to say. The OWNERS yelled at me to get off their property or they would call the police on me. The MALE OWNER THEN got close to me within two feet (NO MASK MIND YOU - I had my mask on) And he proceeded to intimidate me off his property. I stated that I was just warning her about her dog's face getting cut. He said, "We didn't cut your dogs face, we cut her tongue." I said, "No she has facial lacerations too, would you like to come to the car and see?" He replied, "No, I don't care." And something about not caring if I wrote about this experience on social media... So. People, go wherever you would like to get your dog groomed. If you have had a pleasant experience there great, good for you. However, I will not give my business to a facility that treats their clients or their beloved dogs this way.

My fur-baby came back so handsome and fluffy!!

From the moment my fur-baby and I walked in, we felt so comfortable and welcomed I LOVE the different play areas and the entire property was awesome! It was our first time going here, AND WE WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK!! I wish I had a before pic, but his after... INCREDIBLE! He's had to endure my failed attempts to keep him somewhat "groomed" during COVID-19, but he's back!! Clean, fluffy, & the freshest he's been in 2 months‍ Cierra was super kind & I 100% will trust that my precious fur-baby will always be in good hands, at Hoff's Hounds!!

    Rocket

My Rocket loves this place for Day play. He has so much energy at home and doesn't have a big yard for him. He get sooo excited when we get there, he makes friends and runs around. When I pick him up at 6pm, He is so tired and puts himself to bed by 8:30. We take him 2 times a week. Everyone has been great with him and patient with him. I love watching him on the cameras, I get to see him run around with his friends. And love the little report cards I get.

Just relaxing on the patio after an active day.

Please do not take your dog to this facility under any circumstances…read more My dog was injured twice in just three weeks while in their care--both times severely enough that he needed sedation, stitches, antibiotics, and pain medication. When we first started using this daycare, I noticed frequent billing errors and miscommunication, but I tried to be patient. Then things became more concerning. Three weeks ago, I boarded my dog while I was out of town. Within hours, I got a call saying he had been injured by another dog and had to be rushed to my vet for stitches. That alone had me seriously considering canceling his membership. But I decided to let him finish out the final week we had already paid for. On the very first day back, just hours after dropping him off, they called me again: he was injured--again. This time, they tried to blame him, saying he "escaped from his crate." Their stories kept changing, and I never got a consistent or honest explanation. Even the district manager admitted she didn't believe the injury was caused by the crate. When I spoke with the owner, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. He was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional--yelling over me, refusing to let me speak, and at one point told me, as I was crying over the phone, that he wouldn't "sit on the phone and listen to me cry" and that I needed to "pull myself together." I've never been treated with such disrespect and coldness. Since sharing my experience online, multiple people have come forward saying similar things happened to their dogs at this same facility. I trusted them with my dog's safety and well-being, and they failed him twice. Please don't make the same mistake. In response to Dogtopia and their comment, you only covered his stay because I demanded it. You also are responsible for his care so taking him to the vet because of his injuries caused by another dog is not going above and beyond. We were out of town so would you just leave him to suffer in his cage? You also state that his second injury is from escaping from his cage but if his cage was latched properly that would have never happened. I would also like to add that the vet said both injuries resembled each other they were just in different locations. This is not from trying to get out of the cage which your district manager Amanda agreed!

Our three pets were boarded at Dogtopia Alamo Ranch from 12/22/24-1/3/25 during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. As with many pet parents, we love our babies. We checked the monitors to see how each was doing, and I made several calls to obtain updates. We were told they were doing very well. The monitors said a different story. When previewing the monitors, my family and I noticed our elder pet-schnauzer rat terrier mixed (not a big dog at all) was often in the kennel. I called and was informed that he gets excited, and they place him there to rest/calm down. I explained that he is uncomfortable around big dogs, and it causes him to become stressed. This was the same routine for several days. I sent an e-mail asking if he could be placed in the Toybox with one of his siblings. I was told no because the lead said he was fine where he was, and they saw no reason to move him. No matter how I tried to rationalize and plead my reasoning. The response stayed the same: "No." Upon arrival to pick our pets up, my husband was informed that one of my dogs was chewing on his tail. When we arrived home and checked his tail, it had specks of blood, and approximately 6 " of his tail was eaten raw. Again, we called and checked on our dogs, but no one thought to share this critical concern. Additionally, our little one had old feces on his coat and paws, and dogs had urinated upon him. All three smelled horrible and were not taken care of. We will NEVER take our pets to Dogtopia nor recommend any pet owner who loves their pets to patronize that horrible, unprofessional place! We should have turned away when the young lady- I believe Christy was rude!

I got frustrated and pushed him out of the way - unfortunately, I have the most clumsy cat in the world and my pushed caused him to lose balance, he slipped off the counter and got his leg trapped in the oven handle, dislocating his hip on the way down. The cry he let out was the worst noise I've ever heard and I rushed him to the closest vet I knew of - Culebra Creek. I went in carrying my baby's car seat and my brother had the cat in one of those 18 gallon tubs (I had nothing else lol) I walked in absolutely hysterical, barely able to speak or breathe between my sobs. I felt so guilty. Both ladies behind the counter smiled gently and asked me what happened. All I could muster up was squeaking out "my....cat's....hip...." before one of them took the tub back to a room and the other handed me paperwork. They told me the doctor had just left for lunch, but they disappeared into the back room and came out a few minutes later saying the doctor decided to see my kitten before going to lunch. They likely heard me crying like a crazy person and apologizing over and over despite the kitten not being with me anymore. Once I calmed down and told the ladies at the front desk what happened, they both told me it's easy to feel guilty, but he's going to okay and he will forgive me quickly. The vet came out a bit later and told me they had to sedate him with some ketamine to get X-rays and nothing was broke. I kept asking what happened, but the vet would just repeatedly say "he's going to be okay". I'm sure he was trying to deescalate the situation and it worked. They asked us to come back in a few hours after my cat woke up from the procedure and was able to be monitored until he was ready to go home. When I went back to pick him up, they told me his leg was better, but he would be in paid for a few days and had extreme swelling around the hip joint so they gave me pain medicine and a steroid for him. They also were able to diagnose his eye which was goopy and looking pretty awful. The vet asked about it and I told them another vet I went to said it was noting to worry about it and gave me antibiotics for an "infection" . Culebra Creek told me it was an ear mite allergy and they provided him the first dose then told me to dose him each month. Now to the bill. I was terrified to know as they have a routine vet visit cost and an emergency vet visit. Here's everything that I expected to be charged for - Four X-rays - Ketamine sedation - Putting his hip back into place - Treatment for eye infection - Monitoring until he was conscious - Pain reliever for home - Steroids for home - 3 month supply of ear mite treatment My total bill was high, but MUCH lower than I expected - $500 for everything. I was floored as I expected to easily pay over a thousand for the emergency visit and everything else. 1000/10 recommend this vet for ALL your pet needs! They were empathetic, understanding, quick to respond, affordable, and most importantly were able to easily deescalated a hysterical post-partum mom that hurt her own cat and was devastated. I still feel guilty to this day about what happened, but I'm so glad Culebra Creek has the staff they do. (If anyone is curious, the vet never did confirm his leg was dislocated as it was visibly obvious - I'll spare you the details. I think they made the best decision by not reiterating the obvious to an emotionally unstable mom. I'm sure had I asked, they would have confirmed, but the empathetic looks I received when I said I caused the dislocation and the "accidents happen, he knows you love him and didn't mean to hurt him" was enough to confirm.)

I understand there is limited staff, and I realize they have to turn their attention to other customers and tasks, but I would have liked to watch our dog more through the back windows before committing to leaving her there for the day. I'm guessing there were between 70 and 100 dogs in the play area, and most seemed well-adjusted and content. However, it seemed a bit much, and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving our dog there. She loves playing but could not connect with any specific dog and was overwhelmed by the many dogs showing interest in her. We watched for at most 10 minutes, and the whole time, she was looking to hide, running from the other dogs with her tail between her legs. The staff was present, monitoring behavior and cleaning up, so the issue for me is the number of dogs, not the staff. I asked if there was a maximum number of dogs they allowed, and without a yes or no, I was told the number of kennels they had, which was over 250. The kennels can hold more than one dog at a time, so it's feasible that 300 dogs could be there if all the kennels were full. The kennels are in a climate-controlled warehouse-type area with individual chain-link "suites" and the regular areas. The difference is a little more square footage, and a webcam comes with the suite. I'd summarize this place as the big box store of doggy daycares where you'll get everything you need, but not necessarily the best experience for the pet. This review is based on my personal experience. I am not seeking a refund, to be made whole again, or for changes to be made. It is simply informative.

The ladies welcomed us with a warm greeting and eye contact upon arrival...thanks. When I approached Roseanne (bold specs and lively lipstick.. probably why I gravitated to her), she asked forour guy's name. I gave her his name and appointment time, then she directed me to weigh our guy on the scale. Additionally, she gave me instructions on how to turn on the machine. Here lies my problems: 1. Confirm appointment after requested (other ladies did..noticed w/others that followed us)...poor customer service. 2. Staff should weigh-in animals, not patrons... unprofessional. Roseanne's customer service skills were a bit lacking on Wednesday, maybe it was the pre-Thanksgiving I have to work Blues...not sure, but follow-up a request (name) with a confirmation. It keeps everyone on the same page. Next. I do not think patrons (even if they don't mind) should do staff's job of intake procedure i.e. obtaining weight, operating office equipment. If nothing else, it's a possible liability issue. I'll sandwich this review with a great appreciation for the male technician (name escapes me) for his quick, courteous and thorough service given to our guy. I did not hear him yelp (pun intended) in the back and he returned with his tail wagging. I appreciate your office's overall kindness in the past and on Wednesday. I explained that they had given us medication and I wasn't sure if he was having a reaction to it and we needed to see a vet The front desk stated that they were unable to see us right away . We ended up taking our dog to another facility who stated that the drug can irritate stomachs and that was probably the cause of the throwing up of blood & vomiting . When we told them what it was for and the concerns we had about his face they stated that we should probably eliminate chicken from his diet because that is a common allergy for Cane Corso's. Low & behold!! That was the cause. We wasted $100 on allergy meds instead of being given a week to trial at Alamo Ranch Hospital. Then when the conditions became worse, You did not see our dog right away. See the pets you prescribe medicines right away when something comes up that is alarming like blood & properly diagnose things!!! It literally was a CHICKEN ALLERGY!
