Worst bodyshop I have ever been in my life . I had an accident where my passenger door needed to be changed . They changed the whole parts and kept all the old plastic interior the old ones never changed and I was getting a lot of air into my vehicle. I had to go back to them and complained then they had to take my vehicle back and didn't. Even offer me loaner and I paid for a rental out of my pocket because my rental thru the insurance was returned and the case was closed . read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. This is the 2nd poor experience I have had with their service department, lesson learned. Started with purchasing the vehicle here, I knew what I wanted and found it there through Ford's site. Salesman didn't have to do anything and once he knew a sale was being made, poorly communicated. Vehicle currently has 10K miles on it. The vehicle clock and WiFi were not working and auto updates were not occurring. Set up service and they could not figure out what was wrong after having it a day and a half. Told me to take it home, connect to my home WiFi, and allow update to occur. Well, that didn't happen. Called them back and set up another service appointment for them to troubleshoot, aka we have no idea what is wrong. Asked the service tech what the next step was and did not get a good answer. Asked to ensure warranty was covering this and she said they couldn't guarantee it because the vehicle was not providing any codes to suggest something was wrong, even though they knew something was wrong and the fact that it was not giving codes was a clear indication there was something wrong. She then followed up by saying "well, we need to know that we are going to get paid and I want to eat tonight". Needless to say that illicited a spirited response from me considering I spent $62K on a car that had an obvious problem. When scheduling the follow up appointment, I asked about who was going to pay the gas to have the vehicle driven back and forth. She ridiculously said since they were providing pick up/drop off and I wasnt actually driving it, they shouldnt have to provide the gas. Clearly she had no idea what she was saying and has been poorly trained. It was still my gas! Called the next day and spoke to the service director, not manager to get an update. They reportedly forced a manual update and they were now getting error codes, but since it was end of the day, they needed it another day to figure out the codes. She told me I could get a loaner while they tried to determine the problem. When I called her back to arrange, she had left for the day and ended up speaking to the service manager who advised they didn't have a loaner available until later the next week. They had my vehicle for 2 1/2 days at this point and were not close to even know what to fix. I had scheduled a third appointment for the following week and they were to pick it up Tuesday morning. By lunch time, still not picked up. Called them to inquire what was happening because clearly they would not have it ready by end of the day. Service tech proceeded to make excuses and after sharing my displeasure about how bad their service was and my review would reflect it, she proceeded to ask if I still wanted them to pick up the vehicle. Needless to say I said no. I have since taken it to Maguire in Hershey and they have determined what the problem is, I have a loaner, and Ford is sending them the new part. I would not take my bicycle to Hoffman as they clearly do not need my business and could care less. You would have thought the service director, manager or someone would have called to clear this up but my phone has not rung. Just shameful. read more

BEWARE- DO NOT take your car to Hoffman Fraud ... I mean Ford ... for any Customer Satisfaction Program (technically a recall). My son took his car there because he believed he had the issue described in the letter he received from Ford. A diagnostic had to be done to determine if in fact his car had the issue described in the letter. Since his car did not throw that code, he was charged $106 for the diagnostic. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Ironically, there was NO mention of paying a diagnostic fee in the letter if the car didn't throw the code. There comes a time when a business can step up and help a customer in need in a unique situation, and unfortunately Hoffman failed miserably to help to take care of a previous customer. My father purchased a new car many years ago from Hoffman that he kept in storage and never drove - didn't really find out until his death, and all of his important paperwork was destroyed in a fire. So we had no paperwork, no title, no registration - nothing for this car. We eventually were able to find the dealership he purchased it from - Hoffman Ford in Harrisburg. Upon my mother's original call to Hoffman, she was told that since the car was purchased more than 7 years ago, they have no record of the purchase and can't help her. I stepped in to help, and through social media was able to find someone very helpful at corporate Ford. They were able to see the purchase of the car from Hoffman, and seemed sincerely like they wanted to help. After some time of this person doing research, they had an answer. They said the dealership can request a replacement SMO from Ford, and Ford will send that to them and with that document they can sign over the vehicle and that document can then be used to tag and title the car. So I called Hoffman and ended up speaking to a sales manager, Dave Smith. I talked to him about the situation, he took my information sort of begrudgingly, and said he would call me later in the week. I never heard back from him, and called and left messages. I then talked to another manager at Hoffman, who said Dave would be working the next morning and would make sure he gave me a call by 9:30. Of course, no call. Eventually after many calls I was able to get Mr. Smith on the phone. He said he couldn't do anything. I asked why they can't request the SMO from Ford like the person at Ford said, and he said that when they looked up the vehicle they saw it was sold to my father's company and they would need proof that he was with that company (he was the sole owner), and I said no problem, I have all that information. Then Mr. Smith said that it would be too much work. The person at Ford said it's a 5 minute process. Mr. Smith seemed to take zero interest in helping out in this unique and melancholy situation. I offered to pay for the time, or any expenses in doing this. He said he can't help me any further, and even went to suggest using a lawyer. All this because he, or someone else there, doesn't want to spend 5 minutes to try and help in this situation. As a business owner myself, this kind of attitude and unwillingness to go a bit extra to help out a previous customer is beyond frustrating and incredibly disappointing and hurtful to my mother who is trying to work through getting the estate taken care of, and that can't be done until this vehicle situation is sorted. So - thank you Hoffman for making an already incredibly difficult time even worse because you won't lift a finger and spend 5 minutes to help out a previous customer. read more

Today, I brought my wife 2008 Land Rover in for The Works and ended up getting new back brakes and rotors, and other items include 2 brake lights, which were $60, which is crazy, in my opinion. It's is strictly based on my customer experience. my advisor was Jerran and it's clear he doesn't care about his job or the people he is serving. if I didn't call I didn't get an update on when my parts came in, setting up the appointment and never called me back after letting me know they had to order an additional part and was left in the dark if the part was ordered, if my car would be done in the same time frame, if I would be able to get a loaner car. I run a business and had to reschedule an appointment cause I didn't hear back. had to make other arrangements to ensure child was picked up from school. and when I call the next morning I can't get him or a manger on the phone until I tell them I'm on my way over then and then I some how get a call from Jerran and them telling me my car is done. as I expressed to the manger I brought my car here for a reason but to be treated like my money doesn't matter or my needs aren't important is insulting. and Jerran whole demeanor was just screaming your upset for no reason. making statements such as " I can't pull a car out of the air and I'm not the tech" only thing I wanted from him was proper and accurate communication without me having to call for updates and getting excuse of how busy he is. was my 1st and last time coming there simply because if that is the kinda employee they have, I will never spend another dollar to support it. read more

If we could give this place zero stars we would. We special ordered a 2023 Ford-350 Lariat approximately 1 year ago and where so excited when it finally came in. Unfortunately we where quoted a trade in value of only $44,000 for our F250 that was in excellent condition with low mileage and was worth closer to $60,000 on Kelly Blue book and at other dealer websites, etc... We did our homework and no way where we taking that kind of hit. To add insult to injury Hoffman Ford promptly listed our special ordered truck on their website with an inflated price tag of well over $82,000 when we where only supposed to pay in the neighborhood of $75,000... they where marking up the price to make money off the next person. This place obviously only cares about making a profit and does not have loyalty to their customers what so ever!! We tried for several weeks and left numerous messages for our salesman Mason but never heard a thing... all we wanted was our deposit money back and to never deal with this place again. I had an appointment for an oil change and a complimentary car wash scheduled for 11am. I was able to arrive early so I stopped in at 10:06 to see if I could shave some time off my visit. I sat and waited for an oil change and for an hour and fifty minutes. I don't mind waiting but, when I would inquire about my vehicles status it felt like I was an inconvenience. I was told there was a delay because of the increased demand for vehicle being washed. I just believe that for a service center of this size an oil change should be routine. Also the highly requested car wash wasn't that great either, I still had snow on my truck. Just food for thought. Service starts with the customer. So I get home and after the sun come out I see a big scratch on my door. I really wish I went somewhere else. DO NOT USE THEIR AUTO BODY SHOP! Hoffman has had my vehicle for almost a month and a half and they have been everything but reliable. Instead of diagnosing all the issues after my accident to order all the necessary parts so the customer is not stuck waiting for week after week to get their vehicle back they only ordered to start what they could see at a glance instead of investigating. I've been told on almost a weekly basis I'd be getting my car back and then they need to order more parts again. How do you not make sure you have all the parts you needed. Last week it was painting and ordering more parts and again this week was told I'd have it back by Thursday at the latest and once again they are ordering parts. They continue to keep dragging this out week by week every week a promise to have my vehicle back and every week they have to order more parts. They have no sense of urgency for their customers. This has been nothing but a game to them and a complete inconvenience to me. They have done nothing but try to blame it on my insurance agency but my insurance has been nothing but prompt and reliable they choose to take no responsibility for their inability to provide better service and place blame elsewhere. I will never use their body shop ever again and will definitely never give them the opportunity to sell me a vehicle. They lack consideration and reliability for the customer and I will never entrust them with my business ever again and they can forget any type of recommendation to others. I have recently moved from Los Angeles and needed a new Ford dealership. The nicest thing about Ford is you can use their Ford Pass app to set up your service appointments. I was happy to see I could get in for my oil change and checkup within a few days. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and my appointment was found right away. I waited for my vehicle in their waiting area. It was a nice area with a fire place, couches, tables, and complimentary soda, water, and coffee. I felt very comfortable waiting for my vehicle. When my vehicle was done, they came to get me. There was no need for me to check when my vehicle would be done. Their prices a reasonable for a dealership as well. When you pull into the dealership, there is also parking right in front of the service area and they will move it back to there when they are done so you do not have to find your way out when you get back in your vehicle. Asking for a statement and no one can return my call, but calls the police station to file charges for theft of services. How can I make payment when no one returns your call. I've purchased more than a few Explorers from this dealer. In the past I've never had issues. That changed last August when my truck was in an accident. When I called Hoffman, the person that answered was not very friendly and quickly stated that they were not accepting towed in vehicles because they were too busy. I've never heard of this policy. When you purchase a vehicle from a local dealer the expectation is that dealer will service and repair that vehicle. That's convenient for the customer and profitable for the dealer. After 2 weeks, multiple communications, and $1000 in storage fees, they finally allowed the vehicle to be brought in. Little did I know that it would take them 78 days to finally complete the job. I first reached out to the owners and a sales person. The sales person advised they they don't get involved in service issues. Crickets from the owners. I then reached out to Ford Corporation who initially told me that the dealers run their own business. That's funny since they all where the same logo. That person then called the dealership to get information and follow up but no help since the dealer was blaming the delays on my insurance company which wasn't true. The insurance representative reached out to us more than the dealer did. We were promised completion 4 times but they kept finding something new and having to order new parts. One of the last parts ordered was a grill. I'm not a mechanic but since the grill is in plain sight on the outside this should have been one of the first parts ordered. So 78 days, three monthly payments, multiple phone calls and emails later I finally got the truck back. The employee who took my credit card payment even messed that up by forgetting one of the charges so they had to do it twice. No apology when I picked up the vehicle, no call from the Hoffman brothers or anyone else to follow up. Horrible customer service. I've purchase my last vehicle from them and from Ford. read more

I have never left a review in my life, but felt like I had to say something about my visit. My sun roof wouldn't close after my battery died with it open. Was able to make an appointment to get it fixed that same day, which was great. I took it to hoffman and "spoke" with Tim. He never introduced himself and never really let me tell him anything about the car, just brought me into his tiny office and started typing immediately. It was really weird. I tried to talk over him typing and tell him the situation but he really didn't seem to care. I needed to let him know that I had a meeting later on and that I'd be waiting at the shop for my car. He then finally looks up at me and tells me thats not a good idea, it could take a long time. Fine. But whoever took my call in the first place said I'd be fine to wait. Not a huge deal, I called a ride. Then the ignoring continues after I sign a $350 quote of some kind which he never explained until I asked. After that he kinda pointed out the waiting room from his chair (still not looking at me??). I really couldn't tell if he was being rude or just had no concept of customer service. I sat until I had to approach him again for an estimated wait time he said he would check (again, never even turned his chair around to look at me). He said he would check but never gave me a time, so after an hour an a half my ride arrived and just as it did my car pulled up from the shop. Sun roof was closed but they came out with a quote for $1500 to fix/replace the sun roof module........cmon. I had to tell my friend that my car was ready, pay $150 for the labor and ran out of there. Again, I have never left a review in my life, but I was just honestly laughing by the end of my experience. read more

Bought a Jeep and the salesman was terrific. However, a month later the jeep kept leaving us sit, we thought was the battery or maybe we left the lights on? Hoffman thought it was the ignition switch, which they had Brenner replace under warranty with a $100 deductible. Three times the car left us sit after that. With extended warranty we paid every time we had it in for service, after 3 visits and $100 every time, the car left my son sit at 10 at night. After the second towing, I took the jeep to Hondru who finally figured out the battery cable was loose. I called Hoffman to get back all the deductibles, but no reply. Service Manager never called back, neither did the salesman. Such a shame, we thought it was a good experience, but $400 in deductibles is not acceptable, when the jeep probably just had a loose cable. read more

My husband and I purchased as Used 2014 Ford F150 truck from Hoffman at the end of May 2019. The truck seemed great, had some mileage on it, but in really good condition otherwise... so it seemed. We had gotten the last servicing report performed on it from February 2019 when the truck had been traded in by the previous owner. They showed work performed on the steering, brakes, spark plugs, and standard maintenance work. We were assured everything on the truck was in top notch shape and good to go with reassurance there would be no issues spring up that would impact us. WELL WE WERE VERY WRONG. The Spark Plug issue was all 6 being replaced due to Misfires... at only a little over 10k miles later, same problem starting occurring and we took it to the local Ford Dealer in Denver, CO where we had recently moved it. Here the same problem with misfires was occuring again due to the boots that fit over the spark plugs never having been replaced, causing the new spark plugs to get damaged and all boots and 1 spark plug having to be replaced or the vehicle would continue to get worse and inflict further damage. We also had to replace the front brakes and rotors with less than 10k miles from purchase time due to them being worn down to the metal of the brake pads. After the spark plug and boot problem being revealed, we contacted the Service Manager at Hoffman Ford and requested them to cover the expense of the new boots and 1 new spark plug replacement as the problem occurred due to them not fully correcting the issue back in February and only fixing it half way. They refused, said it is not their protocol as the boots were fine when they inspected them and it was our problem. We also mention the front brake pads and rotors being beyond passable PA inspection level and down to the metal and the Service Manager stated they had measured them at 11/16 so were fine as well. We spoke with 3 Ford Dealerships near us and all of them mentioned there would have been no way for the brake pads to be at that level and then need replacing less than 10k miles later, and if any of their service departments ever replace spark plug THEY ALWAYS REPLACE THE BOOTS WITH THEM SO THAT THE NEW SPARK PLUG DOES NOT GET DAMAGED. Being as that we knew we were going to get no where with them taking ownership and responsibility for their neglect on servicing they performed in February 2019, we hung up on the Service Manager and decided to advise all those who are looking for a vehicle or needing servicing on one to AVOID HOFFMAN FORD AT ALL COSTS AS THEY PERFORM HALF COMPLETED WORK OR HAVE SUCH LOW STANDARDS ON WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE THAT IT CAN BECOME A RISK TO CONSUMERS. We have no reason to lie, make up stories, or slander a company that we placed our trust and money to unless what we have to say is the 100% truth. With how the economy is, being middle class ourselves we are handing out our experience and advise to others like us to go elsewhere and stay away from Hoffman as they put on a great front, but are completely unsupportive when things start to go wrong. Unfortunately, I gave your company several attempts to make me a happy customer. I am not one to complain but I am furious with the outcome and service I received from Doug. I purchased a used ford Ranger that should have never been approved for inspection due to existing ball joint problems. The day of purchase took back vehicle to Hoffman Ford and was told it was fine, 2nd day after purchase took to a mechanic in Reading and he stated it should NOT have passed, brought vehicle back to Hoffman and was told it was fine. When inspection was due last July took the truck to L.B. Smith and I have the records indicating it failed due to the upper ball joint. Again, took back to Hoffman and they put a sticker on without any repairs. Now after two years and a total of 11,000 miles from date of purchase, Hoffman claims that the upper ball joints need to be replaced. If you are interested in pleasing your customers, you would have made good on replacing these upper ball joints. When clearing 2 other service centers, stated they were bad. I will not recommend Hoffman and will express my unhappiness to others because your company would not make good on this problem from the original purchase! read more

All I needed was a battery replacement and it took them 4 days!!! Then they couldn't find my keys when I came to pick it up. No one was friendly or helpful. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER! Friday before a major snow storm, I spoke with Patrick Roell and was informed that due to a prior oil change, the only one performed since I had bought my car, was performed incorrectly and had completely stripped the oil filter housing screw, and was not in drivable condition, as they were unable to install the oil filter. I had Patrick confirm to me that the housing was destroyed and was likely caused by over-tightening of the oil filter by a non-Ford service center. I have done oil changes of my own before. I know how to change my oil and filter. I have also had a garage, which I have gone to for years for my other vehicles, perform dozens of oil changes, and I have NEVER had a problem. I was immediately suspicious of the diagnostic and asked to speak to the Services Manager. I was told that he was out moving cars in anticipation of the storm. When I explained that I would wait for him, I was told it would probably be hours before he could call me. I left my name and number and asked for someone to call me ASAP. I was never called. On Monday morning I finally received a call from a shift supervisor, Sheldon. When I explained to him my concerns, he continued to say what I had already been told. That the damage was caused elsewhere and that they could not install the oil filter. I asked him for the part # of the oil filter that was used prior, and verified that it was the correct one for my vehicle by my regular garage. They also explained that they hand tighten their oil filters and had not heard of over tightening to the point of destroyed threads. Upon calling back and speaking with Sheldon, I explained to him what my garage had said. He continued to state that it was not caused by them and that it didn't change that the filter could not be installed. I asked for him at this point to provide an estimate. When he called me a short time later, he said that it was going to be $260 to replace the entire housing, including labor. I decided to go in for myself at this time. I did not provide any notice that I was arriving, but showed up at around 5pm on 1/25. When I went in and asked to speak to Sheldon, the gentleman at the counter, Sean (He had Red hair, and I did not catch his name), went to find him. I saw that he began speaking with someone in the back and I was then told that Sheldon had left already when he returned. I then recognized the Services Manager, Joe Fischer, who was leaning back against the wall. When I confirmed from him, that he was the services manager, I asked him if he was aware of the situation. He said he was and that they had already explained the situation to me. I then asked him for a simple thing. That my car be brought in, and put up on the lifts, and the damage shown to me. Once that was done, and I could take some pictures, that I would be more comfortable authorizing repairs. He told one of his mechanics to bring the car in. I did not wait long before I was told that the car was up on the lift, and I was accompanied by Sean and two mechanics to my car. Once they removed they removed the heat shield, I was able to look upon the "destroyed" threading. To me, it seemed completely intact. I began to take pictures, which I still have, and asked where the damage was. They did show me a tiny bit of threading that appeared negligibly damaged. When I asked if that was what was preventing the oil filter from being installed and making my car non-driving condition. I was told yes. I then asked for an oil filter and was handed the correct one by one of the mechanics. Wouldn't you know...I INSTALLED IT MYSELF ON THE FIRST TRY! The technicians stood there, jaws agape, in disbelief. They removed it, put oil on the gasket, and attempted to install it again. The one technician half-heartedly tried to put it on and "had difficulty", but yet again, I had no problem installing the oil filter. My experience mirrors the other reviews. The service department is terrible. You receive different answers from service write-up, the supervisors, and management about the same issue. They make you feel like it is your fault when you question them about anything. I wish I could give "zero" stars. It is like a time-warp at this dealership...first the outdated look of the place and in the dealer's response. Their customer service demonstrates why so many people dislike the car buying process. The Fast Lane Oil Change is horrible. The first time I bit my tongue but this has now happened to me twice in the past 6 months. I dropped my car off to have a simple oil change. There was no waiter other then the ones currently being serviced. I told the guy I needed the car back by 3 pm so I was leaving to run errands. I dropped the car off at 11 am and he told me only about an hour till it is done. He confirmed my contact number and I left. Never heard back. 4 hours later I showed up and my car wasn't even touched. He stated my paperwork got misplaced, the same excuse as before. I find it hard that a big dealership like Hoffman Ford can lose my paperwork twice in 6 months. I was not offered anything except, "we will get you in next". I will not be coming back. They lost a 12 year customer. read more

I don't know where the other folks came from or what the problems were, but my wife and I have had excellent sales AND service from Hoffman. The folks in both departments know us by name and have always treated us with respect. When a technician will take an hour of his valuable time to educate a new owner of a diesel powered vehicle of the ins and outs of driving and maintaining that vehicle, THAT'S service. More than once they have intercepted or rectified a problem. The vehicles have always been ready when requested and if not, we are informed directly why not and when they will be ready. The sales staff are knowledgeable with their products and willing to answer any and all questions. If they don't know, they will find someone who can answer the question. This level of service built this company. That is why we have purchased SIX vehicles from Hoffman Ford. read more

Today was the most frustrating experience I have ever had! We had a 10:00am appointment to get some warranty work done. We had a 2 hr. drive to get to Hoffman Ford so we left our house at 7:45am. When we got there we got in our loaner car and drove around the Harrisburg area to kill some time till our truck was done. The service department was supposed to call us to let us know what needed to be done and let us know how long it would take. After 3 hours and no call my husband texted the service department to see where they were on the repairs. Response was out to lunch , will call when I get back. 3 hours latter , still no call so we drove back to Hoffman's figuring the truck would be done. We find out that they didn't do a thing except try the retractable running boards. The major problem with the radiator wasn't even addressed!! At this point we already had8 hours into this service. We had to return home,another 2 hour drive and when we were about 10 miles from home , the truck started to power down because the engine was overheating!! We had to stop and let the engine cool so we could make it the rest of the way home. 10 hrs total and no repairs at all!! I do not recommend this service department at all unless you have time to waste!! I wouldn't give it one star but I had to in order for my review to post!! read more

Purchased a F350 from them. It was easy and great price compared with other dealers. I asked for an "on the road price" from 5 dealers in the area. Only Hoffman and one other would give it to me before I showed up in person. Hoffman Ford was the best price so I went with them, 90 miles away but saved a couple grand was worth it. I talked to the manager and thanked him for the strait-forward way my deal was run. The owner then came over and talked to me about trucks, and giving me more info on the best way to break it in. I'm giving the service department a five star. I travelled up from Florida in my FORD F150 and had an oil light on and when I checked my oil I noticed the coolant was extremely low. I stopped by the service department and explained my travels (on to Ma. in a couple days) and my concerns . I did not have an appointment. They explained the oil light was just a reminder and the technician in Florida must have not reset it. This service department also took the initiative to check and top off other fluids and check the tire pressures. All at no charge. For some this might not seem like a big deal, but as a woman traveling with two small children I am very thankful for the piece of mind to continue my travels. On my travels back to Florida at the end of July I will certainly have this dealer service my vehicle before heading homeThey just gained a service customer when I'm in town! read more
