I had my car washed there a few days ago. When I arrived home, I noticed that my chrome strip on the rear quarter panel was missing. I called the Colonie facility and asked Alberta, an assistant manager, if she could find my strip as things were very quiet while I was there. She asked for some info from me and said she'll call me back. Thankfully, she called very quickly and said that she found it and it was in good condition! I returned to retrieve my item and a team member offered to put the strip on my car! I could have done it myself as it's a simple fix but he offered and he was very nice to do so. I tipped him and he appreciated it. A big relief for me as it was from an older model car and a replacement for my car would have been an effort! I didn't get the young man's name but he was just as helpful as Alberta! Super service! read more

I take my SUV to the Hoffman's car wash on Central avenue and Colonie two or three times a year. I was there about 3 months ago just after winter and had the car cleaned. I paid the $44. It's always the guys at the end that don't seem to clean your interior very well. 3 months ago the dashboard was not wiped at all. The area by the odometer was not cleaned. The computer screen was not cleaned and the dash window was not cleaned at all. Today I paid the $50 so I could have the undercarriage washed as we just got back from the ocean and the dashboard was left with white towels dust all over it after they wiped it down. The area where the odometer is was not wiped at all. The trunk area of the SUV had not been vacuumed and although there was a chair back there I had pushed the chair up near the seat and they just did not vacuum. I get charged monthly to get my interior and exterior car washed. The last three weeks that I've been here there has been one lane open to do the interior of the cars. Today I called to complain about this as there was five cars in front of me. If I had waited it would've taken them over an hour to get to my car. I called to complain. They told me there was two lanes open. That was a lie. She then tells me that the one main line merges into two. That is also a lie. I've been to the car wash hundreds of times it's not how it works. There's a reason you have a rating of 2 out of 5. I pay almost $50 per month for unlimited car wash (for years) and the location right near my house and work is CLOSED. The main reason I subscribed is because of location & convenience. i asked for a refund for the month that I wasn't able to use my membership. The customer service MANAGER told me that he can not give me my money back for the month because I had auto pay take out the monthly fee on the same day as my last car wash which I had to drive to Latham for. Then he continued to tell me there are several other locations 3 of which are on central avenue. He was rude ! The customer service is absolutely horrible. I went online to make an appointment to have inside detailing done. Arrived on time had a confirmation and was told there was nobody in to do the detailing. I said well what are we gonna do and all they said was well maybe try another location. I have tried to give this Place the benefit of the doubt countless times. You guys should go to Buffalo and learn from the folks at Delta sonic. The tire shine splatters down the side of your car - even if you never get it but once every other month (so don't tell me it's a build up). Went to Troy Schenectady location drove in the attendant put another car practically on top of my new car and the woman left her car in drive and kept hitting my cay car the way thru the tunnel played on horned and they finally stop the rail to see we were both on same . I didn't want to go to the Hoffman Car Wash, because I'm still pissed about the Playland. But it was Christmas Eve, and the other car wash was closed, so Hoffman was going to get my business. The car was a mess on the inside and out, and I was going to be taking a long drive with the family. Mostly, I just wanted the inside cleaned, but $25 took care of the inside and out. Having a clean car isn't something in which I put a lot of stock. If people want to judge me on the cleanliness of my car, that says more about them than it does about me. That being the case, I can't remember the last time I went to a traditional car wash. But it's certainly been over a decade. However, we did have the car detailed in the not too distant past. Our minivan was filled with years of debris from raising two kids on the go. Think cheerios, chips, granola bars, trail mix, and the like. For comparison's sake, that detailing job cost around $250 and was worth every penny. Was my $25 car wash perfect? Certainly not. The dash board wiping left behind some dust. There were corners that were cut, and some cleaning foam was still present on the passenger seat. That said, the car was about 80% as clean as it was after the prior detailing for about 10% of the price. And to me, that was awesome. Even after having to drive two miles west to this Hoffman location, since the one by Fuller Road doesn't do interiors. My floor mats are stunning, and my wife didn't sneeze from the accumulated dust on the dash. I'm not crazy about the lingering smell of the cleaning products, but am still glad I opted not to get air freshener. That stuff is never a good idea. All said and done, I may try another car wash in the future just to have a better base of comparison, but I was more than satisfied with the results for the price. I can't say all is forgiven between me and the Hoffman family, but this location has made me a fan. read more

This is my go-to place to get a car wash. I grew up two streets down so maybe that's a part of it. I always buy the deals, like 2 full services for $50, something that saves you about $10. Its always nice to know you have an extra one when you need it. I like the full service, it is a little pricey, but for me, it is easier than dragging my vacuum out to the driveway and fumbling around with it. Although the line was flowing out to central, it only took about 25 minutes for me to make it all the way through. They do a nice job, i love the lemon air freshener. Your car doesn't come out detailed, because that's not what you paid for. You get a decent clean, inside and out and a towel dry at the end. I heard some people have bad experiences, but never me. This car wash is usually busy. Really busy. They are also the only place that does everything it does. It is a tad pricey but if you don't want to clean your car, they get the job done adequately. I took my Miata into Hoffman car wash to clean the interior and exterior of my vehicle and they forgot to clean the interior so before I left I asked someone to run it back through and instead of running it back through the car wash they took it over and vacuumed my car slightly. If I wanted to bend over and vacuum my car I could've done it myself for free. That's still left me cleaning the interior windows and wiping it down inside luckily I don't allow my vehicles to get too dirty but I am annoyed at the low-quality performance by Hoffman car wash. Three bad experiences makes it a no go for me. This last trip I paid for both the inside and outside to be cleaned. Cup holders weren't wiped out, mud still on the inside door panels, grease spot on exterior remained, making me question if the car was even washed. Under the seats weren't vacuumed. I have been there three times in as many years and left dissatisfied each time, seems like that would make it the standard, not the exception. read more

As a long time customer - 30+ years - I was disappointed with the service this week. I paid $130 for detailing and was told that vacuuming the interior was not included. When checking in, the counter person said a full service wash was included in the detailing. it made it sound like that was a free service, but I don't see how you can detail a vehicle without washing it first. However, when I reviewed my credit card statements. I was charged full price for January and February. Thinking I had coverage for February so I went through three times in February. I always get the "ultimate full service" and recommend the summer breeze interior scent. While the staff tends to do a good job with the exterior every time, they are inconsistent with their interior jobs. I often find I regret tipping the staff the moment I sit in the car. They frequently miss things like the center console area between the front seats where dirt collects around the cup holders and gear shifter and the doors and steering wheel are almost always not cleaned. Last time I went there were literally specks of mud on my steering wheel and on top of the center console that would have been easily cleaned with a rag. They basically do a good job hosing down my rubber matts, wiping the dashboard off and vacuuming some of the debris out but not all. I basically think that for close to $30 before tip, this attention to detail isn't too much to ask for. If there were a better place in town as close or on my way from work to home as this one, I'd go there instead. I literally only go here because it is the least worst option at the moment. read more

My car is now 8 days old and I went to get it washed yesterday as I have the unlimited car pass. When their staff went in to drive it something in their pocket had to have cut into the seat and cause about a 2 inch tear in the brand new leather. The Jeep is a lease and this not only ruins the seat and I'm sure it will now get worse over time but it will also cost me to have to repair it. Wow! What a rip off! I thought $44.00 for a car wash was kind of ridiculous, but I thought at least the car would come out clean. Nope! Still gas stains by the gas cap, side view mirrors still covered with bugs, dirty water spots on the bumper! The interior is still very dusty and the moonroof has some kind of gross haze on the inside. Worst of all whatever fragrance they sprayed in it made both my daughter in law and myself have allergic reaction. I had the interior done to clear the pollen and this just made it worse. Wanted a simple car wash on my Ram 1500 Bighorn. Told the worker checking people in for car washes that my truck needs a car wash where my car can sit stationary at and the robotic machine can spray my car and clean the outside. I said that my mirrors would get taken off if I didn't do this. At many other Hoffman Car Wash locations, they offer this. I asked where the nearest one was, and the worker couldn't tell me even though there were many other locations around Central Ave in South Colonie. I've personally gone to one before where this was available around Central Ave. The worker then proceeded to say that my car's mirrors wouldn't be an issue and that much larger trucks go through there every time with no problems. The second my car started to get moved through the car wash, it ripped both of my electric folding side view mirrors forwards and almost ripped them right off. In the event they did come off, they wouldn't have done a thing about it. I told a worker once I got out of the car wash, and he said that that is what usually happens with people's mirrors and that they should be fine. Thank god that they are fine, but in the event that they weren't, they wouldn't have reimbursed me for new ones. They shrugged it off when I told them about my mirrors. Very nice workers, but unreliable as shit. Don't ever bring your trucks through this Hoffman's Car Wash. Bad: Over-priced for detailing and specialized cleaning. Music in lobby is weird/screechy/nice changes sound just when you begin to get a headache. They cannot change the station. No Wi-Fi while waiting takes all your phone battery charge. Good: nice people, clean lobby, has vending machines and sells greeting cards and some small gift items. When they opened they were GREAT. They added 2 TVs and a stop sign. The killed was a BARICAID at the entrance that is a pain in the FDSA. Today only the center lane let people through. Others were blowing their horn and yelling. I walked up and yelled at them - they did nothing. We were stuck. Could not go forward. Could not go backwards. SUPER PAIN. I hope a few more cancel. Looks like they've changed their process and put in the express line. Kudos for doing that but now you're made to drive your own car through and you don't get the door sills wiped down at the end. I guess they call that full service now. So now I don't get my coffee or a bathroom visit and get less service for the same money. Was given attitude by the greeter for not being aware of the new process yet and then get called forward to enter the wash to then get cut off by the same kid cutting in with a full service. Nearly takes off my front quarter. Thankfully my reactions were good this morning. HCW this isn't taking care of your long standing customers. Update 7/21.
