Doug, the owner is very knowledgeable and professional. He fully explained all work to be completed and the quality products his company uses.The crew arrived on time, did an outstanding installation job and clean up was very good. When Doug came to inspect the roof and gutter installation and collect the balance, I signed another contract with his company! The roof and gutter experience was so great we've hired Evansen Builders to replace all the window trim and fascia. Since his roof and gutter bid was so great, we didn't even get a second estimate for this work. I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. A little backstory: We are a military family and were not able to be here for the inspection and closing of our house due to being stationed in Virginia. We're first time home owners and being from the coast, it's also our first time maintaining a basement. The previous owners did a below-par job rigging our sump pump pipes and our inspector failed to mention it in his report. Paul noticed and explained how the way they rigged it was not efficient. While we were inspecting the front of the house where it currently drains, we found out from my neighbor that it previously had drained out the back of the house. The problem was it was flooding/freezing his garage since he is on lower ground. No matter how far you run the drain line out, it still goes down to his yard. Our previous owners rectified his issue by running varying sized pipes from the sump pump at the back of the house to the front of the house. This made the pump work even harder and the pipes were dipping in some places and higher in others. We were able to discuss the pros and cons of having it pump out the front or the back. Ultimately we don't want to have an issue with the neighbor and we'd have to install an expensive french drain if we ran it out the back. So we made plans to amend the situation in the spring by replacing the pipes, making them the same size, supporting/securing them to the ceiling better, and making sure it's pitched. We also plan to upgrade the way it flows out of the front yard. The main reason for his visit was to replace our sump pump which had been out of service for a few months, likely due to the bad rigging and who knows how old it was. He did this quickly and installed a new one in a timely manner. No pressure to make the other fixes until we are ready. We have a 5 year warranty on our pump and a one year labor warranty should we have any issues with the install! His rates were really great and we are happy with the price. We called around to other places and he was extremely competitive in comparison. Very satisfied and will recommend Morris Plumbing and use them again in the future!
