So disappointed on this visit. We loved the beef jerky from here. It had been a little while and we stopped in looking forward to having some more. WOW..this jerky was super dark and is absolutely hard and not even edible. It actually crunches because it's so hard, when you try to bite into it. This stuff isn't cheap by any means. read more

A friend suggested this place when I wanted a quality lunch. I've driven by a million times but didn't realize the deli side... DANNNGG!!! Best Tri tip sandwhich and less than McDonalds crap! You gotta stop here. Also, support local businesses! Especially those who aren't charging more (seemingly) with gas price hikes. Ps. The Staff is nice! read more

Just simply the best butcher shop in the Biltmore/Phoenix area. High quality product and their deli is incredible. I work very close so I stop here at least 2x a week and have never been disappointed. Try the smoked brisket! You won't regret it!! read more

Hobe Meats is a hidden lunch gem. A coworker told me about this place and I've been hooked ever since. They staff is friendly and their lunch sandwiches are incredible. I have yet to buy any of the meat from the butcher side of the shop. They have many options! The handful of times I've been to Hobe I've never been able to finish my lunch plate. They are generous portions and the food is fantastic. Haven't had a bad sandwich yet. I look forward to showing more people this place as it is one of my favorite sandwiches in town. read more

I've been going here for years. At one point we got a package deal. I don't usually go on a Saturday but got there probably around 2 or so. There was a lull in customers. They said a little earlier the price was packed. They have every kind of meat and if you don't see it, they will order it for you. And they custom slice and wrap things whatever you want. It's a great place. BUY LOCAL read more

Had good service by the woman who helped me today. She seemed knowledgeable. Came for the ribeye cap steaks. If you've bought them at Costco, these aren't close. Price seems good at $12.99 a Lb, but there is almost no marbling. Can't believe they're selling this as Prime. Can't be. No way. The woman helping me said this comes in in strips. Cooked it sous vide tonight and it was really chewy. Darn, I bought three steaks! Not going back. read more

I had heard about this butcher shop for years and when I started going next door for Asian I though the small patio would make a nice weekday lunch place. My first trip I thought I might have gotten banned for life. As I was giving the deli my order I realized I had forgotten to wear my mask. So, out to the car I went. Upon returning I wanted to look at some steaks while my sandwich was being made and I ended up on the wrong side of the meat display thinking it was a really strange shaped, open to the public, meat display. About that time the butcher came back and pointed out I was on the wrong side of the counter and I was looking for a hole to crawl into. I did pick up a couple of filets to take with me. My sandwich was good enough I have already been back for another. And the filets were very good. I liked the macaroni and cheese but not fond of their coleslaw. The staff has always been pleasant and outgoing. As a bonus they open mid morning so I can pick up a freshly made sandwich to eat at mid day. I'll definitely be back. read more

Doing Sandwiches Right Today, we went to Hobe Meats for lunch, after having driven by this place for years. I've had many sandwiches from all over the valley and the folks at Hobe Meats are doing up sandwiches right. Lookout, AJ's Whole Foods, and all the others; Hobe Meats is here. We really enjoyed our first visit to Hobe Meats . The menu has plenty of options, fillled with high quality meats. Hobe Meats offers great lunch specials. You can get a sandwich of your choice, side item with a beverage for 8-10 bucks. Today, my lunch companion and I had the pulled pork and a side of jalapeño mac and cheese and everything was delicious. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the sandwich was piled high. The staff at Hobe are incredibly friendly, helpful, and accomdating. The menu was explained to us, suggestions were made based on our preferences. If your in the area give Hobe Meats a try. Expect great sandwiches, salads, and the best customer service. Forgot to mention the other side of Hobe Meats is an excellent butcher shop, can't wait to give it a try! read more

Hobe is a great butcher! The meat here is fresh and flavorful. The prices are higher than the grocery store, but that's because the product is better than what you get from the store (plus you're supporting local business, which is cool). I make a point to stop at Hobe when I need meat for special occasion. read more

Great place for meat and service ! Times I've been in were great experiences and love the quality of meat.

This deli /butcher shop is my preferred place to buy quality meat and get an affordable lunch. Their meat case is well stocked with Wagyu brisket down to grass fed beef. I usually get their baseball cut sirloin (pictured) or their chicken breasts to toss on the grill. Their in house made jerky is an excellent choice instead of the mass produced sugar laden jerky sold at stores. The price is comparable as well considering the quality. Definitely check them out if you like top quality meats. Be sure to check out their exotic meat case while you're there. You never know when some buffalo or elk will sound good. As for the deli, I had their Reuben on rye and boy was it a meal! Piled high with meat, slightly toasted marble rye, sheesh and dressing. I eat a lot of reuben's and I will say it is a top contender in my book. All of their side look great as well and the variety is very good. Check them out, you will not regr read more

Hobe Meats has what your looking for, it's 100% USDA PRIME, and also choice beef. (I love the prime, because it has more marbling, and therefore, better flavor! You can also find wagyu, bison, and other amazing cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. Besides the filet, I always get my ground beef there! Makes the best gosh darn burgers you'll ever have from home! Looks fatty, but it's a perfect blend or fat and beef to give you that best burger you've ever had taste! I also buy the lean burger for other recipes! Great food and great prices for lunch. Place could have used air conditioning. Also the "communal" condiments where people were using their fingers touching lettuce and tomatoes grosses me out a little. But great lunch, pricey but amazing butcher shop and lots of cool jar and spice rubs. read more

They sell hanger steak! How cool is that?! I only looked at their offering and did not purchase anything but I can tell you that the cuts of meat looked extremely clean; lots of marbling in the beef. I love the small town butcher shop feel of Hobe Meats. We buy our sausage, chicken and meats here and have enjoyed a sandwich from the deli on several occasions. Their Tri Tip is outstanding. Single sodas for purchase in the cooler and you can find BBQ sauces, seasonings, buns, spreads and other various items as well. Everything is clean and their customer service is top notch. They offer suckers, hand sanitizer and personalized Hobe Meats pens by the registers free for customers which I think is neat! 5 stars for quality, cleanliness, customer service, location and plenty of parking. read more

My first time there will also be my last. I stopped in Friday afternoon to get pork butt, a whole chicken and a rack of spare ribs. I also got sandwiches from the deli and a bag of wood pellets. Spent over $120 in total. When I took the ribs out of the fridge on Saturday and unwrapped them I got kicked in the face with a real bad fishy smell. I paid $8.99/lb for these so I was very disappointed but I decided to cook them anyway and after a 8 hour smoke they still smelled fishy. No way I'm serving that to my family. They were closed Sunday so I had to wait till Monday to talk to someone. Basically I'm out $27 bucks because they won't stand behind their product. They don't seem too interested in trying to help, I guess it's my fault for not hanging onto my receipt but when I go to a "high end" meat market I expect my meat to be fresh. Go to the meat shop on 2nd Street and Buckeye. read more

Had a disappointing experience on my first visit today. Have been looking for a locally owned establishment to purchase meat from as I haven't been impressed with the popular options or grocery stores. After receiving multiple recommendations from friends I checked out the website and decided I'd stop in to pick up one of the packages listed on the website. While it isn't extremely far from me it was a 30 mile round trip drive. Upon arrival I asked about the packages and was told that they had to be ordered in advance. The young man I spoke with told me he could give me the same items but it wouldn't be the same price listed online. I expressed my frustration and could hear another staff member suggesting that he should give me the package at the prices listed online. The gentleman I initially spoke with told the other staff member he couldn't (or wouldn't) do it. After hearing this I made the decision to leave rather than spend the money I would have on a large package of meats. It baffles me that the website doesn't provide any information stating packages must be ordered ahead of time. If I can get the same items why can't I get the same price? This leads me to believe they use some of the lesser cuts of meat in their advertised packages. I'll continue to seek other local options based on my initial experience. read more

I have been using Hobe Meats for years and have been consistently pleased with the quality and service. However, this time was exceptional because of Joseph. I needed turkey wings in advance of Thanksgiving. Joseph followed up on the special order and when things were delayed (beyond his control) he stayed on top of it. This is the kind of customer service I miss...someone who cares and takes pride in their work. As long as Joseph is there and this type of customer service exists, I will drive across town to use Hobe Meats. read more

Since moving to Arizona 13 years ago, I never purchased meat from a shop like this; but I'm gonna start! They had the standing prime rib roast I wanted, tied and seasoned it for me too! Best place to buy the best quality meats - you can't go wrong here. Prime rib, filet and tomahawk has been the best!

Very helpful and friendly employees. First visit to Hobe Meats. Bought the grillmaster bundle meat package which consisted of: 4 ea Boneless Chicken Breast Halves - 2 ea Center Cut Pork Chops - 2 ea Bratwurst Sausages - 2 ea Mild Italian Sausages - 2 ea 8oz Petite Sirloin Steaks - 2 ea 7oz Bnls NY Strip Steaks - 2 ea Lean Ground Beef 1lb pkgs My STRONG suggestion is chicken should be bagged separately from the other meat. Didn't notice until I got home. The chicken was not frozen and leaked in the bag onto all the other meat packages. Called and was told the paper is coated with wax and probably the meat was not compromised. Offered to exchange, but it's a 30 minute or more drive from my house and the person I talked to wasn't very enthusiastic. Opened a couple of the packages and it didn't look like the other meat got any chicken leakage on them. But common sense for a butcher, I think, would be to keep the chicken separate from the other meat. It bothered me all the meat was frozen except for the chicken, I don't know why. Also bought a ribeye steak (which was put in a separate bag) and was very disappointed as it was full of grizzle. Hardly any edible meat on it. Cost $22.00. First time going to a butcher shop and I must say, a disappointing one. read more

This is one of the best places to grab lunch in the area. During Covid, while working from home, I walked over here for lunch multiple times a week. THIS PLACE USED TO BE DECENT. We've been customers since the 1980s But now the staff is blasé and lies blatantly. The items in the freezers are most often with freezer burn and multiple layers of labels With the plastic tubs falling apart Or cracked. Twice we've bought bones that when defrosted were rotten. The short stout female clerk has the worst customer service and lies about everything as if it is her "sport" but most of the others are like that too. A few times we've purchased sirloin and they have charged for filet mignon. And they don't give you the receipt most likely so you don't see that they overcharged. There are better places with better quality and better prices. And way better customer service. read more
