I was looking for a good sandwich and looked them up on Yelp they are in our neighborhood I tried the Tri-tip sandwich on pretzel roll and it is the bomb!!! Juicy and full of flavor topped with melted Havarti and a creamy horseradish sauce it was so good. Hobe Meats is a hidden lunch gem. A coworker told me about this place and I've been hooked ever since. They staff is friendly and their lunch sandwiches are incredible. I have yet to buy any of the meat from the butcher side of the shop. They have many options! The handful of times I've been to Hobe I've never been able to finish my lunch plate. I had heard about this butcher shop for years and when I started going next door for Asian I though the small patio would make a nice weekday lunch place. My first trip I thought I might have gotten banned for life. As I was giving the deli my order I realized I had forgotten to wear my mask. So, out to the car I went. Upon returning I wanted to look at some steaks while my sandwich was being made and I ended up on the wrong side of the meat display thinking it was a really strange shaped, open to the public, meat display. About that time the butcher came back and pointed out I was on the wrong side of the counter and I was looking for a hole to crawl into. I did pick up a couple of filets to take with me. My sandwich was good enough I have already been back for another. And the filets were very good. I liked the macaroni and cheese but not fond of their coleslaw. The staff has always been pleasant and outgoing. As a bonus they open mid morning so I can pick up a freshly made sandwich to eat at mid day. I'll definitely be back. read more

We really enjoyed our first visit to Hobe Meats . The menu has plenty of options, fillled with high quality meats. Hobe Meats offers great lunch specials. You can get a sandwich of your choice, side item with a beverage for 8-10 bucks. Today, my lunch companion and I had the pulled pork and a side of jalapeño mac and cheese and everything was delicious. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the sandwich was piled high. The staff at Hobe are incredibly friendly, helpful, and accomdating. The menu was explained to us, suggestions were made based on our preferences. If your in the area give Hobe Meats a try. This deli /butcher shop is my preferred place to buy quality meat and get an affordable lunch. Their meat case is well stocked with Wagyu brisket down to grass fed beef. I usually get their baseball cut sirloin (pictured) or their chicken breasts to toss on the grill. Their in house made jerky is an excellent choice instead of the mass produced sugar laden jerky sold at stores. The price is comparable as well considering the quality. Definitely check them out if you like top quality meats. Be sure to check out their exotic meat case while you're there. You never know when some buffalo or elk will sound good. As for the deli, I had their Reuben on rye and boy was it a meal! Piled high with meat, slightly toasted marble rye, sheesh and dressing. I love the small town butcher shop feel of Hobe Meats. We buy our sausage, chicken and meats here and have enjoyed a sandwich from the deli on several occasions. Their Tri Tip is outstanding. Single sodas for purchase in the cooler and you can find BBQ sauces, seasonings, buns, spreads and other various items as well. Everything is clean and their customer service is top notch. My first time there will also be my last. I stopped in Friday afternoon to get pork butt, a whole chicken and a rack of spare ribs. I also got sandwiches from the deli and a bag of wood pellets. Spent over $120 in total. When I took the ribs out of the fridge on Saturday and unwrapped them I got kicked in the face with a real bad fishy smell. I paid $8.99/lb for these so I was very disappointed but I decided to cook them anyway and after a 8 hour smoke they still smelled fishy. No way I'm serving that to my family. They were closed Sunday so I had to wait till Monday to talk to someone. Basically I'm out $27 bucks because they won't stand behind their product. They don't seem too interested in trying to help, I guess it's my fault for not hanging onto my receipt but when I go to a "high end" meat market I expect my meat to be fresh. Had a disappointing experience on my first visit today. Have been looking for a locally owned establishment to purchase meat from as I haven't been impressed with the popular options or grocery stores. After receiving multiple recommendations from friends I checked out the website and decided I'd stop in to pick up one of the packages listed on the website. While it isn't extremely far from me it was a 30 mile round trip drive. Upon arrival I asked about the packages and was told that they had to be ordered in advance. The young man I spoke with told me he could give me the same items but it wouldn't be the same price listed online. I expressed my frustration and could hear another staff member suggesting that he should give me the package at the prices listed online. The gentleman I initially spoke with told the other staff member he couldn't (or wouldn't) do it. After hearing this I made the decision to leave rather than spend the money I would have on a large package of meats. It baffles me that the website doesn't provide any information stating packages must be ordered ahead of time. If I can get the same items why can't I get the same price? This leads me to believe they use some of the lesser cuts of meat in their advertised packages. I'll continue to seek other local options based on my initial experience. read more

Bought the grillmaster bundle meat package which consisted of: 4 ea Boneless Chicken Breast Halves - 2 ea Center Cut Pork Chops - 2 ea Bratwurst Sausages - 2 ea Mild Italian Sausages - 2 ea 8oz Petite Sirloin Steaks - 2 ea 7oz Bnls NY Strip Steaks - 2 ea Lean Ground Beef 1lb pkgs My STRONG suggestion is chicken should be bagged separately from the other meat. Didn't notice until I got home. The chicken was not frozen and leaked in the bag onto all the other meat packages. Called and was told the paper is coated with wax and probably the meat was not compromised. Offered to exchange, but it's a 30 minute or more drive from my house and the person I talked to wasn't very enthusiastic. Opened a couple of the packages and it didn't look like the other meat got any chicken leakage on them. But common sense for a butcher, I think, would be to keep the chicken separate from the other meat. It bothered me all the meat was frozen except for the chicken, I don't know why. Also bought a ribeye steak (which was put in a separate bag) and was very disappointed as it was full of grizzle. Hardly any edible meat on it. Cost $22.00. THIS PLACE USED TO BE DECENT. We've been customers since the 1980s But now the staff is blasé and lies blatantly. The items in the freezers are most often with freezer burn and multiple layers of labels With the plastic tubs falling apart Or cracked. Twice we've bought bones that when defrosted were rotten. The short stout female clerk has the worst customer service and lies about everything as if it is her "sport" but most of the others are like that too. A few times we've purchased sirloin and they have charged for filet mignon. And they don't give you the receipt most likely so you don't see that they overcharged. There are better places with better quality and better prices. And way better customer service. read more
