The security cameras of this Hobby Lobby likely have footage of me throwing a tantrum on the floor. No joke, full on-laying down whining and kicking. No, I wasn't three years old-this happened recently when my mom dragged me fabric shopping with her-and I couldn't get her to leave. (In case you're wondering, the epic tantrum session didn't result in a quicker departure. She just shook her head and walked away.) I still hate fabric shopping, but I've recently re-ignited my passion for miniatures and building dollhouses, thanks to the beautiful displays here that lured me in. What is impressive to me is the variety of "hobbies" that Hobby Lobby caters to. You might not find as much as a specialty shop, but they dabble in a little of everything. I like the way the store is laid out-it's pretty easy to find what you're looking for. And the home décor displays that are color coordinated absolutely make me smile every time I pass them. (Smart move-putting those up front so you have to walk past them to get to whatever you came for. Similar to how grocery stores put the milk in the back. Clever.) Since Hobby Lobby is owned by religious conservatives, you'll never find one open on Sunday and you'll notice the instrumental hymns being piped into the speakers. Like it or not, they are true to their values and I respect that. After all, many of their customers in this part of town are probably humming along with "How Great Tho Art" as they peruse the scrapbook paper. No shade being thrown-I'll be right there humming with ya. My only complaint is about the pricing. Stores that use "sales" on darn near everything just result in confused shoppers. Especially when they entice you to come in with a 40% off coupon-only to find that it can't be used on sale items, and, like I said, almost everything is on sale. Selection of products is great and they have amazing holiday decor and great deals, however the service is awful. The managers are always awful, lazy, and disrespectful. You think if you're paying 300 dollars at a store they'd treat you nicely. You want to void an item? All of a sudden you have to redo the whole order! But they just lie to make their life easier and the customer's harder. I've had multiple experiences where they were nothing but rude. I like yarn. I've got a yarn addiction. This place has the best yarn. Seriously. You need budget friendly yarn? This location. Great selection and great variety. My friend and I were looking for supplies for a project for her. We hit up 5 different shops looking for a brown blanket yarn. Nothing. She was wondering about trying to dye a mustard colored yarn just to make something work. We come here. There are multiple options. We are now deciding which brown blanket yarn to get. They don't have as many of the basics (I'm thinking the Lion Brand Wool), but if you're looking for some specialty yarn, this is the place. It's the only place I e found recently even carrying eyelash yarns, extra chunky, or sock yarns. read more

I went last week for the first time. Staff was a mix of wearing masks and face shields. I think it should be noted that face shields without a mask are not enough to protect yourself from COVID, however, the biggest issue I saw were that multiple customers were not wearing any masks. Went for some returns and to wander a bit! Audrey was great and helped us so much with our returns! The manager was a bit cross with Audrey when she was helping us. I'm all for good training and making sure your employees are following procedure, but I also don't appreciate seeing management treating employees in a belittling manner. Overall I love hobby lobby and will continue to come here with my crafting and decor needs. I just wish we could all show a little more kindness even on our hardest days. read more

Hobby Lobby has a pretty large variety of a lot of things. I go there when I'm looking for craft type stuff.

If you're bored, go here! No seriously. In n out is for burgers. I don't know how people go in n out at Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby is for burning a lot of time and keeping yourself entertained. Their stores are always really big and pretty well kept. The biggest thing is there is SO MUCH STUFF to look at. It seems every store has the same layout but I do still love exploring everything in there. It is tradition for me to make a big run here during Christmas because they have every Christmas decoration you can possibly think of. They really always have holiday decor but Christmas is definitely the most "all out" Hobby Lobby goes. The holiday decor is always to the left as you walk in but it tends to be spread around the store as well. I love how organized they keep it. They definitely keep things in themes (kitchen decor will be with each other, laundry room decor is all together, etc). They have the same sale tactics as like...Kohls. There is always a sale on top of the price tag, which is nice! They had wall decor for 40% off. I do miss their 40% coupon that they retired like a year ago. They also had a nice clearance section in which I was able to find a new condition canvas for $3! Thats a deal. I love coming in here just because there really is so much to look at and you can snag unnecessary things for your house. I also find it somewhat inspirational to get my shit together while I am in here; they have planners and pretty stuff that make me think that could possibly be my lifestyle. With this specific visit, one think that irked me a bit was the lack of mask enforcement. It is currently mandated in the county and I would like to see it being a bit more enforced. I kid you not, when I was in the store, there was a lady having a coughing fit right next to me without a mask on. Come on lady!! lol. It isn't even a specific store policy, it was mandated by the county and it is every business's job to make sure it is being followed. I have had to bad experiences at this store. I do not live close to this store. I am a Senior. Both issues were the same. Today I purchased many items. Baskets, Large Painting, 10 Embroidery Floss and other Needle Work Items. I get home and discover that the floss and Needlework items were not there. I called the store back and just like the previous time the employee did not put them in my bag. Neither time have they ever apologized or said anything other than come back and pick them up. Although I love your store that's it for me. Just a simple apology or I will talk to the person would of been enough. read more

It was serendipitous that I rolled up on Hobby Lobby. I needed a hobby store, but was actually buying dog food close by when I happened on their location here in The District. Inside I found pretty much what I've seen in their Sandy location. It's clean, relatively quiet, and full of stuff from frames to flowers to art supplies to model kits to home decor to.. well.. it goes on and on. I'm especially fond of the frames and art stuff, but you'll have to bounce around from here to other stores to hit sales. It seems like they put them on sale for like 94% off every couple of weeks. Hit a sale and you walk out with a house worth of frames for 18 cents. If it's not on sale, you spend near 2.4 million. Prices on the whole, though, are pretty competitive. Worth a cruise in the store, but in the end I think plenty of this stuff comes from factories far from here. Also, here's a strange side note about me. I really like rhyming places. But they make me think of Laffy Taffy. Which makes me think of the D4L song Laffy Taffy. So if I'm walking into a Hobby Lobby, you can pretty much guarantee I'm singing, "Shake that Hobby Lobby" in my head. And now you know. read more

I really love Hobby Lobby! This was the first Hobby Lobby that I went to and came here often when I lived in the area. Came by again while on a trip. Great selection of papers and other scrapbooking supplies. Also like the home decor items. The furniture is over priced. Can always count on the 40% off coupon on the mobile app. No unfinished wood crafts are sold here either for Halloween or Christmas is what I was told by the employees. This makes zero sense since those are two of the most popular holidays that folks make things. The review would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the unfriendly service. When a customer asks you a question, don't give them attitude, a blank stare or tell them that "everybody" does a certain art/craft one way and you think your customer is off their rocker asking for a product you don't have in stock. Be open minded. Be kind. Remember that the customers pay your salary. Remember that each person has their own personality, talents and thoughts and is not a Stepford Wife. read more

I am a huge fan of a competitor of this store. They do have some great items, but their prices are a bit higher and they do not take compeititor coupons. They do sell a larger selection of art products and doll house items if that is what you are looking at buying. Both locations in town are a bit of a drive for me and I will only go there if I absolutely need to. They are also not open on Sunday's so if you are in need of craft items on Sunday you will need to look elsewhere. read more

Hooray for Hobby Lobby! I was so excited when Hobby Lobby opened in Utah. Sure, there's Joanns, Michaels, and Roberts craft stores in the area....but Hobby Lobby has a lot of products in their house brand that is a great deal. Like alligator hair clips - 25 for $2.99. Much less expensive than the other craft stores. They have a fun selection of fabrics, and remnants are 40% off the bolt price (perfect for all the hair clips that my daughter is madly making) Just as an FYI. Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays. Though hobby lobby is one of my favorite home decor stores the customer service I received at this location was awful. My cashier makylle D was very rude and ignorant, I came from out of town and she didn't ring up any of my items correctly and overcharged me $60 when specifically asked if my order rang up correct she very rudely said yes and upon looking at my receipt I found none of my items were correct all because she wanted to go on break that second. I love this store!!!!!! It's so close to home and has pretty much everything and anything I ever need for every project I have! The sales are great and the selection for the most part is pretty good. I have had a few issues with decor being scuffed, but they're willing to discount it even more, and I can usually fix the problem. Also, I wish they had more of a selection with flat backed jewels. We have been treated well by hobby lobby, and the employees that work there are kind. However, the 50% signs are placed in places that are misleading to customers. We bought candles which were right next to a sign that said that all candles are 50%off, and they happened to be excluded from the sale. To put a general sign for a sale on each row and have one item from the row be on sale is misleading and left a sour taste as we were charged double what we expected. I hope hobby lobby will be less dishonest with their attempts to be competitive with other stores in the future. read more

The store is organized and clean and like every Hobby Lobby a lot of fun, but the service in the fabric department is awful. When laying out our fabric, a friend and I were trying to decide which one to choose, she rudley asked us to move someplace else, we had 5 different ones we were choosing from, we had no place else to set them, she stated she had people to help, but they were being helped by the other associate, Pam is who we dealt with, she was very rude, she also made a few comments about how she only had 10 more minutes, she clearly hates her job. If possible try to get anyone else but Pam to help you in the fabric department. read more
