I stopped at Hobby Lobby tonight looking for a piece of furniture for my office and for my hallway. I found the pieces I liked but couldn't find anyone to help me. Granted it's a Friday night around 6:30 so maybe they didn't have all of their star workers on the schedule. So I walked up front to tell one of the young ladies that I wanted to purchase some furniture. She asked where the furniture was so she could call someone up. I asked if I should go back to that spot and she said they would meet me over. I heard her make the announcement so I proceeded to the flower wall. This is where I waited. And I waited.....I waited.... I heard her call Nathan? Neil? To register 1. I'm guessing he got there faster than the furniture helper as I decided I would be standing there until close. As I walked past the register the same young lady was standing there talking to another young lady and talking to a male employee(he could be the one to help me) and none of them even glanced at me as I walked out without making any purchases. My husband said we could go back tomorrow but no thank you, I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

They have deals but make sure you read the fine print. They do often have some sort of stipulations such as only for items more that $15, or buy 1 and the deal is on the 2nd item. They do have decent deals throughout the store and this is definitely a big store. My wife and I like their selection of home decor and picture frames. I often get my art supplies from here as they seem cheaper that nearby stores. It's part of a strip mall with a huge parking lot. Service is decent and there seem to be someone always available to locate any items. Their website is also pretty easy to navigate. read more

Came in to the store to pick up a couple of things. During checkout I mentioned that an item was on sale and the cashier Gabriella informed me in a very pleasant voice ( you know the voice I'm talking about) that she knows and is checking. I decided to keep my mouth closed for the rest of the checkout. I get home and of course only one sale item got the sale price the rest didn't, also I was charged $25 for 2 sharpie markers ( correct price 1.69 each) . I called and spoke to a manager Tim who was not concerned at all, didn't even ask the cashiers name... I wanted to do the return over the phone but of course I can't do that either. Looking at all the reviews now I guess I got the same treatment as everyone else. read more

I am writing this review to recognize Angel and Jessica for their outstanding customer service. But a little background first... I have been shopping at this location for many years and for the most part have had awful customer service. Not only are the staff hard to find but when asked questions come off as bothered. I am often ignored (even when the manager is standing right next to the entrance) due to staff either engaging in conversation or working without acknowledging the customers. I shop here because I need supplies and it is hard to find the items I need anywhere else, but otherwise would never return based on the service I constantly receive. This is why when I had an exchange recently, I was very pleasantly surprised to be treated with not only respect but kindness and enthusiasm by Angel. The manager assisting was Jessica (which is the only person I have ever had a positive experience with in the past) and she was great! Both of these people are the sole reason for this review and I truly hope that they can be a positive influence on the other staff. read more

Every time I have been in this location the staff are rude. Today was the icing on the cake when the cashier called my daughter "disgusting" (she had a toy by her mouth) and while I was waiting to speak to a manger regarding the cashier's attitude the cashier wiped the shopping cart I had been using with sanitizer, it was the only cart she cleaned at that time. The manger didn't seem to care too much about my experience. I later called the store to tell another manager my experience and I was told the reason they clean carts is to prevent foot and mouth disease in children. I totally understand keeping things sanitary! However, this was not the cashier just sanitizing shopping carts, it was a very passive insult that the cashier, Kristin, seemed happy to do. Many other times while shopping the staff never greet me or ask if I need help finding anything, which isn't a big deal, but I do remember the one time I sought someone for assistance in finding scented oils for candles the lady looked at me like I was bothering her and that I was crazy. I can usually find anything I need arts and crafts wise here, and their framing department does a great job too. Just wish it wasn't so pricey, and also wish that all frames came with hanger hooks, etc. already attached. But that's just a personal gripe! Not sure why it hadn't occurred to me to review the Hobby Lobby--love this place. Even though we call it the Slobby Lobby, or start to sing Utada's "Meet Me in Hotel Lobby" replaced with the lyrics 'meet me at the Slobby Lobby' every time even mention the place: it's still an awesome find. Now, I have decorated a psychic gallery (back when the North Star was rocking Lake County) with candles and fabrics from this place. I've found bottles that I've been able to put love spells and brews and salts and Hoodoo into. I've, found furniture here that has doubled for tarot cabinets. Have found trunks that I've carried traveling mysteries in... We've found fabric for 19th century clothes at the HL, science experiments, drawing supplies, calligraphy pens, ink and pen nibs, stamps, picture frames, lucky charms and glass doohickeys. Halloween lights and Christmas doo dads for that year we did a tree totally in silver and blue. We've gotten candy and votive cups, brass candlesticks and coffee mugs. We've used the place for its clean bathroom on occasion, spent time browsing just for funsies... We've gotten table supplies for trade shows, foam board and wood pieces, mini solar lights, baskets, easels and sketch pads...It's been a go to place for us for at least 8 years. The staff has always been helpful and sweet: even when their swamped. Everything's neat and organized. It's a great place and their sales are spectacular. Closed on Sunday...so don't go then...otherwise go and be crafty. read more

I love this place, especially the seasonal areas, which is usually filled with fun and new items which tend to get you in the holiday mood by the time you leave that area. The downside is that the seasonal area is picked thru quickly so you do need to get there early for once something is gone, it's not restocked. So what you see on the shelf, is all they have in stock. Sales... sales... sales, is another big things at this place. Just about every time I come here you can find good sales. It is not uncommon for me to come in here and stroll thru looking for what is on sale and would be a good birthday/anniversary present. The store is huge so if you have a hobby, more than likely you'll find it here. Not to mention, the home decor section is really good too. Hobby Lobby is one of those places which is a great place to walk thru and come up with ideas or get unexpected deals on those rainy days and you just want to get out of the home. Be warned that Hobby Lobby is closed on Sunday's but personally I respect this and think it is good that they take off at least one day a week. The only downside is that I find checking out can be a long experience. The lines generally build up quickly and the cashiers seem to be very, very slow. Partly because they are naturally slow moving, but some take extra long to wrap up the breakables. read more

This is my favorite store. I basically live here and have spent thousands over the years. That being said, the customer service is terrible. Unfortunately, the majority of staff is just rude. Fair warning - Hobby Lobby WILL beat you over the head with how Christian they are. Politics and faiths aside - the store had the stuff I wanted and a few things I didn't know I wanted. The only problem I had was that areas weren't clearly labeled and there was a lack of staff to ask about where things were. But a good enough experience to warrant returning because I must try their store brand yarn. read more

Love this place! Need a quick gift for a friend? Go here. Get the gift, the wrapping, AND a card and its perfect! Associates are friendly, not over the top, but are helpful. I can always find a child's gift here. I'd also rather support this family owned business and pick up something more unique than go to a Walmart for a generic item. read more

I go to the store on a weekly basis. I went in there today and was going to purchase a shelf when I was at the cash register I asked the lady if it was on sale she rudely said no I can just tell by looking out it is not on sale. Then proceeded to ask me if I want all the other items after she rudely was telling me the price of every single item is if I didn't have money to pay for my items. I often go to other craft stores and usually they are pretty helpful by telling me to sign up or download the app for their store to get coupons this lady in particular did not even inform me about any of that. read more

Although the fabric was good quality I was very disappointed on how my fabric was unevenly cut. My daughter was having a birthday sleepover and we thought it would be a fun idea for the kids to pick out their own fabrics. However, when all the girls came home to make their blankets my husband and I were extremely disappointed to find out that their blankets were unevenly cut. The lady who cuts the fabrics should be more experienced and more accurate. Also, when I called to complain, just so it didn't happen to any other families, the store manager was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Incredibly disappointed. Next time we will be going to Jo Ann's Fabrics across the street. read more
