Employee pulling off the bar code noting it was a 3-piece set after I called them on being fraudulent, unethical and is false advertising.

I have been to this location several times and it had been fine. The employees are not very helpful but what can you expect in this day and age. What I didn't expect is some very unethical behavior and fraudulent behavior from a supposed "Christian" owned store. They got me on two items but I caught the other two and called them on their unethical and what I think is fraudulent behavior. At minimum it is false advertising and unethical. I was at the store on 8/17/21 on W. Saginaw Highway in Lansing. I was in their 90% off clearance isle. I found two sets of Galvanized Three-Tiered Metal trays that I had looked at before. Since the bar was missing, they put them in the 90% off area. Great. I didn't need to use them as a set with the bar even though they have a hole in the middle of each. I can work around that. I noticed that instead of all three pieces in the set being $3.99 (90% off $39.99) that they had marked each one individually. So, the largest tray was $3.99, the next $2.99, and the smallest $1.99. Since they were packaged and sold as a set and even the tag on the largest piece said it was a 3-tiered set and I assumed marked down due to a critical piece missing, I thought the individual prices must be a mistake. I was told because the center bar was missing that they decided to make it 90% off but separate each piece. I noted that is false advertising and not only unethical but fraudulent. So, she called the two different people to try and see if she could sell me the set as advertised, all 3 for 90% off and was told no. What I didn't catch was that they did it with two other pieces that I did purchase. So, I paid more than the advertised 90% off for the two out of four pieces from a Metal Wall Baskets with Hooks set that I didn't realize they separated. So instead of getting three baskets with a bar for $3.50, I got two baskets for $3.98. My guess is someone else purchased the 3rd basket for $1.99. I took pictures of what they did which apparently made them quite angry as they were giving me really dirty looks. I had stopped shopping at Hobby Lobby for about 6-years ago due to some unethical behavior but went back as I am starting a side craft business. Now I'm really done. Christian organization, not even close!!

The kind of thing you'll find at Hobby Lobby... Awesome (fake) gold gilded deer head!

My mother and I visited Michaels on Marketplace Blvd (Store #1590) in the evening on August 16. The…read morestore environment was in ideal shopping condition- clean, organized, displays kept presentable, and easy to navigate through. Had several workers even ask us if we needed any assistance. Extremely kind, upbeat, and positive. The entire experience in the store was about as average as any typical shopping experience would be at a huge retailer like Michaels- until we got to the register to make a return, and purchase what was in our cart. As the cashier was completing our purchase, my mother was confused as to an item being scanned multiple times and inquired whether or not there had been a mistake. My mother was hastily responded to, and assured without any explanation that it had been corrected- my mother was still confused as to what items were scanned onto our total, and if it was correct. The body language, demeanor, and tone of voice that was used in response to my mother still being confused was insulting, unprofessional, and simply uncalled for. It reflects extremely poorly on your Brand, who you have working behind registers, and the overall relationship you have with customers. If this employee was supposed to be exhibiting the Core Values listed on your companies website, she failed miserably. Values: "Make People Happy" - Definitely didn't make my mother happy, or any customers standing behind us in line. Or myself. I didn't even have a Yelp account, the experience really was that bad. "Keep it Simple" - Nothing is simple about being blown off when you're confused about where your hard earned money is going. "Innovate & Learn" - The experience definitely makes one believe your employees have no idea how to explain the most basic things to customers, and haven't been paying attention during the yearly training seminars they're required to go through. "Do the right thing" - Doing the right thing probably wasn't acting like your customers are complete morons and that you shouldn't have to repeat or further explain the answer to a question. "Have Fun" - Well, this didn't happen. One poorly trained employee can ruin the entire experience and mindset a customer has, and their feeling towards a brand. I know for a fact my mother will not be going back, and I know that quite a few individuals who are very involved in arts and crafts won't be going back either.

Alex was awesome! Super kind and so positive. Thank you for my great experience at my favorite storeread more
