Several times now the people at Rider's have helped me with programing my transmitter and airplane. I couldn't have done this on my own. This week they sent my broken Saito engine back to Horizon Hobby for repair. They did all the paperwork and packaging and covered the shipping cost. Two weeks later they called me to say that they have a brand new engine for me to pick up. No questions asked, no charge, not even for shipping. I can only imagine the heartburn I would have had to deal with if I had bought this engine online. We need to support our local hobby shop because their support is vital to us and our hobbies.

They often sell him the wrong items or are completely out of what he needs to get his RC car running. Most recently, he purchased a brushless motor they recommended, and we returned today hoping to buy a transmitter. To our surprise, we were informed that they wouldn't have any in stock until the end of August! To add to our frustration, they have a strict no-return policy, so we're stuck with parts that don't work for us. It's frustrating to rely on a shop that consistently misses the mark on customer needs and doesn't offer refunds for incorrect purchases. We won't be coming back and want to warn others to think twice before buying from them.

Hu?? really I said your joking right he said nope I'm like keep that oil and any other stuff I might need I wont buy anything from here! this could have been a great thing but to be like that cant even take 2 seconds to look at something with out wanting money or to get paid! Dean's Hobby Stop is a mecca of vintage kits, many in amazingly good condition considering they are 30-50 years old mostly, and at much better prices that you might pay on eBay. Not to mention you save the expense and risk of shipping if you come to the store in person. I live in Chicago and have family in the Detroit area, but I'll go quite a bit out of my way to come here whenever I can. Dean is a real gentleman and his wife and partner is a real gem too!

I'm in the Sacramento area of California and there is nothing like Dean's place out here. He'll always hold items for you until you're ready to call back and pay for them. They have everything from cars, model planes, warhammer and GUNPLA. I have never seen the neku bosou series and I'm so happy that I found them here. The store is owned by a super nice couple and I am all about supporting small businesses. The prices are also very competitive! Every thing that is marked regular price is 20% off and they have a monthly competition where they gift a buyer $50 if you bought at least $20 worth of stuff. At the time of this review, it was my second visit in 20 days and I still came out with a huge haul (see pic). They are super active on their Facebook page always taking pictures of their latest arrivals. They also hold things for you at your request so that's how I came out with my next series of cats! It also carries art supplies, games, and childhood gems from the past and present. They have an online catalog but also have many items that aren't listed. Recent purchases from here were stencils kits purchased as a gift for a young man in the hospital and he loved them. I purchased two games recently Yahtzee and chess and picked up curbside. The chess set is well made with durable pieces and a great value. Before the pandemic, it was a fun store to browse in and look at the variety of vintage and modern toys. They also carry that line of books about towns or cities history with vintage pictures. Tecumseh has a rich history especially and some local buildings and landmarks are well preserved.
