Hobby Lobby, why have thou forsaken thee?! I'm accustomed to the atmosphere of the Hobby Lobby's in Texas and the excellent customer service that they provide. I notice, since being back in the New Orleans area, customer service is not second nature for many places and you can tell the disgust of employees in the way they respond to your inquiries and requests for assistance. I was a 3rd wheel for a trip to find stencils. My accomplice asked 3 different associates and were given the most vague directions every time. The employees all seemed to busy in their own world to even navigate us to the location and only pointed and said things like "deep left" and "far middle" but Hobby Lobby is more like a stadium on the inside so that was not good at all. We eventually found what was needed after browsing aisle by aisle. We continued our browsing and ended up on the spray paint aisle. We were looking at the wooden letters and there was a couple on the aisle testing out the different spray paint cans. They found what they needed and left. 2 minutes later one of the lackluster associates approached my accomplice and I for spraying spray paint and didn't give us a chance to explain the culprits were a couple who were already well on their way. The irony is that she received to move to show us stencils but proudly came over to scold us. We checked out afterwards. The cashiers were quick and 2 lanes were open so we were well on our way. Overall the store was organized as Hobby Lobby's always are, clean as usual, and a lot of the items were on sale for 50% off. The experience was bitter sweet but I definitely wont end my long time relationship as a loyal customer for a few mishaps.

They don't have the biggest mattress selection, but they do carry the high end brand names and I did look over the Sertas that they offered, since I already had an idea of what I wanted. They didn't have the exact one that I had in mind, but the selection was decent and the prices seemed fair, even if they weren't the lowest I encountered. I will say one thing for this place- the staff might be the friendliest of any store I've been to. I was greeted upon entering and I was asked by at least 4 different employees if I needed help, as I made my way around the store. I can see how to some that might be annoying, but if I had needed help, that kind of service would have been much appreciated. I hate having to search through a store and chase down an employee. I would probably return just for the friendly service alone.

Our 2nd time to this location. We normally go to the one in Jefferson. Probably 1 of the top…read morerudest staff I ever encountered. I was hunched down on my knees, looking at books on the very bottom shelf. Not an easy feat when your over 55 yrs old. While I was looking, a heard a "excuse me" above me. A employee standing over me. So I said "yes?" And all she said was "excuse me" again and made some hand gestures. So apparently she wanted to put more books on the shelf above me, never-ending the other 5 other shelves of books they had. Not even a thankyou or anything. Just a snotty look. We wont be back this location anytime soon.

Red White and Blue Thrift has gone completely downhill under the so-called "management" of Samantha…read moreGreen. To put it bluntly, Samantha Green is by far the worst General Manager I have ever encountered anywhere--and I'm not the only one who thinks so. She has zero respect for customers and clearly doesn't care about the people who shop or work there. The energy she brings to the store is downright toxic. Every time I've come in, I've witnessed her either having an attitude with customers, talking down to them, or flat-out belittling them for shopping at a thrift store--as if she doesn't work there herself! The hypocrisy is shocking. Her nasty attitude, constant rudeness, and cruel behavior create an environment that feels unwelcoming and uncomfortable. I've personally heard her make snide comments about the customers right after they leave, mocking people for buying donated clothes, and treating them as if they're beneath her. It's disgusting, it's classless, and frankly, it's just mean-spirited. On top of that, she's lazy and unhelpful. If you need assistance? Forget it. Samantha Green will either ignore you or make you feel like you're bothering her by simply asking a question. She brings no professionalism, no warmth, and no leadership. In short: Samantha Green is an unkind, bitter, and unprofessional manager who is dragging down the entire Red White and Blue Thrift experience. The store could be great with the right leadership, but until they replace her, expect to be treated poorly. Red White and Blue: You need to find a new manager. Samantha Green is not only bad for business--she is bad for basic human decency and completely out of alignment with the values your store is supposed to represent. Samantha Green is a nasty, evil presence who is destroying Red White and Blue from the inside out. Until she is gone, this store will continue to rot under her. Wake up. Get rid of this woman. She is driving your business--and your reputation--straight into the ground.

One day the Pirate says: I'm tired of all this bargain basement, thrift store, upcycled, found on the side of the road crap we have. (maybe he didn't say bargain basement or upcycled, but he was wearing an eye patch....no that's not true....maybe drinking whiskey at 9am? Yep definitely true) I saw a review for this place and popped in one day.......Ohhhhhh.......Ohhhhhhh....... yep I was in furniture store love. It's not cheap, nor is the quality. So the Pirate is tired huh....Well I'm going to get exactly what I want then. Our affair started with several trips to view a davenport, that's what my MamaToo called hers. It needed to double as a sofa and comfortable bed for guests visiting. Davenports tend to have boxy cushions that can be removed revealing a day bed sorta thingy. I went maybe three times over several weeks. It was an investment afterall. Katie was there from the beginning to help, no pressure...take my time...she'd send pricing quotes for different configurations and pictures, did i need a swatch sample? I gave my orange retro couch the old heave ho and passed it on to a herb smoking musician and have never looked back. Next came the side table a few months later Then they had a warehouse sale and we bought a sideboard ( Ohhhhh I love that piece) then another side table for whiskey for the pirate.... a few small gifts for friends over the years from their in-store selection and various pop up shops they host. Katie was my gal.....who put up with my thoughts and hesitation to invest.... never any pressure Then I bought a new dresser (I dragged my old one onto the side of the road, helping a man load it into his truck....hey...why I am loading it.....) and then I bought a slim book case that I had been eyeing for months was snagged at their showroom sale. Of course I needed the nightstand match now....so I bought that. and then one day i looked around and I was finished...no more to buy....no more...nope.... Over the last 3 years I have loved everyone and my darling Katie..... AND then my gal hooked me up for a VIP sale..... probably the best deals ever and since dear Angelique needed a desk, I picked up a desk top and a single chair......and a market umbrella for future festivals and what not. The Pirate doesn't complain anymore, but he still drinks Whiskey at 9am. He is happy with my choices and considers this mid century modern look his now......I need a bigger house or a new studio...sigh tell them CrazyRe' sent you

They didn't have tons of gift items when I was there. But they did have some pretty amazing modern house decor. As befits a store selling modern furnishings everything was clean and well laid out. The store was easy to move around in and everything was clearly marked. The staff seemed to be in a meeting when I arrived (30 minutes before closing) but a salesperson did offer to help me and the one other customer in the store. She checked back in with me while I browsed but was definitely not pushy. I really want/need the copper chair they had on display...but first I'd have to figure out where to put it.
