Hobby Lobby was started in 1970 by David and Barbara Green who took out a $600 loan to start a miniature picture frames making business out of their home. Two years later they opened their first store in Oklahoma. Today they have more than 900 stores and it is the largest privately owned arts-and-crafts retailer in the world with locations in forty-seven states. Their corporate headquarters is in Oklahoma. Hobby Lobby was one of the first businesses to open in Dania Point. Hobby Lobby is the greatest art supply store around. I first discovered this company when looking to purchase art supplies for my daughter and this store has everything she needs. They stock the supplies professional artists need as well as more casual arts and crafts. No matter what you like to create you can find the right supplies here. You can find yarn, material, beads, paint and brushes, canvas, clay, cake decorating tools, and just about anything else you can think of to create your masterpiece. You can start a project from scratch or purchase a ready made kit. The options are endless. In addition to art supplies they have beautiful seasonal home decorations. The displays they set up in the middle of the aisles are eye candy. Besides the holiday items they have all kinds of every day decor. Candles, frames, floral, pictures, and various knickknacks are just some of the items you can decorate your home with. if you need a birthday or hostess gift this is the place to go. With over 70,000 items, they truly have something for everyone. Other items you can purchase include party decorations, picture frames, baskets, and and even small furniture. If you can create with it or decorate with it chances are they have what you are looking for. They even offer custom framing. There are a few important things to note. They are a Christian company so they are closed every Sunday, all day. If you visit their website you can find a 40% coupon of any one item. You can just show the person checking you out the coupon code on your phone. Most items have a sale going on anywhere from 30 -50% off making the items very affordable. I have found Hobby Lobby to have the best stocked selection of artist supplies out of all of the area art stores. In addition they can carry a lot of unique home decor items that you won't see anywhere else. This is a fun store to browse and shop for gifts for other people and gifts for yourself.

Walking farther down the aisle I see an MS - could that be it?

Oh boy, this store is so creative and I can spend hours in here. This new store at Dania Pointe has been open for a short time but it definitely rotated through the holidays! Tonight, I enjoyed looking through all the Spring and Summer clearance items. There were so many choices and my cart filled up quickly. I rated this store a 3 because there were so few employees on the floor if you had a question you had to walk all the way up to the cashier and wait to ask the question. Plus, after being in the store for more than an hour we started looking for the restroom. No luck we didn't find it - so back up to the cashier stand we go again and her answer was "in the back corner". Which is where we just came from the fabric area and I just didn't see a sign. So this time we walked each aisle and finally we saw the sign. Funny thing is the restroom sign was lower than the material rack in front of it. So if you are in a real need I hope you have bionic eyes so you can see through the fabric rolls.

This store seemed larger than most of the other locations I have been to. Store was too cluttered for my liking. Tons of stuff everywhere. The store was not organized well at all. Aisle did not turn the same way. Extremely weird set up. The back of the store where the planners are located was not to organized. I stopped in this location hunting for planner stuff that came out not to long along. No one around to answer questions. One viewed the 3 employees setting up the holiday section and the one person on a register. O.K. to go to if you know what you are looking for and you hopefully know where to find it because you won't find an employee to help you. Wasn't greeted when I entered or left. They seemed even more overpriced then most other Hobby Lobby's I have been to.

Painting was so relaxing, and the studio allows you to bring your own food and drinks, which made it feel even more like a fun gathering with friends. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable experience!

After a brief hiatus in 2020 due to COVID, the event returned in 2021 in a smaller format at The Backyard before expanding to larger venues like Revolution Live and the War Memorial Auditorium. I recently attended the Indie Craft Bazaar at the historic War Memorial Auditorium, which has just undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation by the Florida Panthers. The venue--flexible enough to host concerts and large-scale events--was the perfect setting. The bazaar runs from 12-5 PM and features over 95 vendors, with free admission and parking. It's also very family-friendly. I had a great time browsing a wide variety of handmade, artisan, vintage, and locally made goods. There was everything from jewelry, live plants, and clothing to crystals, candles, bath products, accessories, stickers, crochet flowers, baked goods, and stationery. One standout for me was the upcycled concert T-shirts from Backstage Trends. They also offer fun extras like free swag bags for the first 100 guests, DIY activities, and food and drinks from The Federal. Plus, you can even go ice skating next door at the Baptist Health IcePlex. It's easy to pair the Indie Craft Bazaar with other activities in Holiday Park and make a full day of it. I'm so glad I finally got to experience this unique and vibrant market!

I'm sad they took away the canvas painting options as that was the reason we drove 30 min just to come to this specific location. My fault as I should have called first to double check if they still offered the canvas painting. This is the only location I knew of that did that. Oh well. There is a huge selection of pottery pieces to choose from. Prices vary pending on your selection. Came here with my daughter and she selected the cute little tea set. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the price at $54! But this is what she wanted so I cannot deny her happiness. Haha. I mean I can but I didn't know want to. It took me a while to find what I wanted to paint that was practical. We have so many pottery pieces the kids make that are just for decoration. Love when we make plates, mugs, bowls or any kitchen pieces as they are most practical. I chose the geometric vase! The vase was $37. There is also an additional $8/per person studio fee to use everything (brushes, paint, materials). This stuff can add up quickly. Our total was $117! Ouch. But fun and you can't put a price on fun experiences. Lol. Once you pick your piece, the staff will bring you a bowl of water and a paint palette. All brushes located at the tables. The you select the colors you want and put onto your palette and bring back to the table to start painting. We took our time and was here for 2 hours. But our pieces were meticulous. Ha. They also offer coffee here which is a nice bonus. Once you're done painting your piece, you can use the blow dryer to dry the paint, this prevents smearing. Give the finished pieces to the staff and they will label it for the final touch of glazing and thus completing the process. It takes about 7 days and they will call you when it's done so you can come back and pick up the finished product. Can't wait to see ours!
