Cool Stuff Games is a great spot for those into TCG, board games, and many more. I collect Pokemon cards and came here after an event to check it out and see if they had any singles for sale. They had a case that wasn't too big of a selection but had a pretty good variety. The staff was super nice and helpful and was able to let us know the prices of any of the cards we asked. They have their own prices and do go by TCG Player but the prices were still fair and only a little bit above what we saw online. I left with a couple of cards. The space itself is super welcoming and seems like such a cool spot for those into the hobby. They had a lot of "cool stuff" for sale (great name!) and there was a tournament going on when we were there, which was pretty cool. Overall, a nice spot for cool stuff! read more

I did not know we had these types of stores around here. This is one cool store. I stopped in thinking it was a comic store but to my happy, surprise it was more. It's big inside with a good amount of tables. They hold tournaments here for games like Pokemon, Lord of the Rings, Digimon, D&D, chess, and so on. They also sell games here, playing cards, some and candy bars. One cool store to check out. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The games all look so fun. I was glad to hear that they are thinking about a beginner's class. I am definitely interested in Digimon. This is one cool store to check out with a fun vibe to it and awesome staff. Out and about with a cranky 8 year old. I was mentally doing Mortal Kombat Fatalities on him in my head. Away, Forward, Away, A. Away, Forward, Away, A. Headed to the grocery store when he yells "Pokemon" TF? Pokemon?! I see the store and decide to indulge him. I hadn't seen one since I left Jacksonville but gave a scroll inside. I was able to let him run lose and find a mental safe space looking at Magic cards. When you walk in the door there is maybe 3 seconds of weird looks then everyone goes back to their games. Once I make it clear that I rather wonder around on my own, he leaves to go aid another patron. I can't remember how long we ended of being there but the sun was down by the time when left and I had a handful of scary messages from the kids mom. Super friendly staff. The place was already in full swing with some type if tournament. Lots of gaming space. Most people already seemed grouped up. And no surprise it was mostly 99% boys. I was happy to see a small groups in there as well. They are stocked with all the most popular stuff and board games are cheaper than other places. Friday's easily the most popular night. Pretty 'cool' place, I didn't realize it was here for a long time. It's clean and welcoming, and the staff is friendly. It is very Magic oriented, and very well appointed in all things Magic. Plenty of events going on, plenty of players. The bathroom is also pretty clean. However, they don't seem to be very interested in DnD players. There's no adventure league or anything DnD related on their calendar, and their DnD merchandise is barely existent. -1 star for that. And they don't let guests use their microwave (which can easily be placed in their waiting room), which is pretty standard in most other gaming places. Not sure if they're trying to discourage food caused mess (just get plastic covers like Tate's then), or force you to buy their food. Not sure, but -1 for that. They 'tolerate' DnD but do not provide sufficient space to feel welcome. So, some very good features but overall 'meh' read more

I like this place, I travel to FLL / Miramar often. At least once a quarter I stop in to see what they have on their shelves. Many times the pricing is much better than Amazon. In fact, I almost always purchase something when we are here. I've never stayed to play a game, but there is a ton of space, everyone seems to be having a nice time as well. The employees in the shop are also friendly. I've been here at least 3-4 times and just realized this last time I never wrote them a review. We have been coming to this store for Magic tournaments since we moved down from the Boston area a few years ago. My kid and I both play and we find the scene competitive but healthy. Many good players and few bad attitudes. The tournament rewards were a little behind the norm but lately that has been improving and attendance is strong especially for healthy formats and prereleases. Recent negative is that the online discount can't be used for over the counter purchases any longer. I think this issue could be resolved with a different approach to keep it from being exploited. What more do you want? Items are always a fair price (they can actually compete with my Amazon Prime membership), usually in stock, and customer service is generally ok. Sure, you're surrounded by teeny-boppers occasionally, but that's just part of the gaming community. Once a month (on rotating Saturdays) they welcome the public for open board gaming. Just show up with your games and competitive spirit and settle in for the long haul. They have snacks to fuel you (although they could get some Virgil's cream soda up in there) and people are welcoming, smart, and open. Try it! You might like it. P.S. If all you want to do is use their space as a place to play card games because your mom won't let your friends in the house, then you will probably love this store. IF you actually want to BUY something? Forget it! I have NEVER been to a store with such crummy customer service. The staff is a bunch of lazy guys who hang around behind the counter and ignore you while talking to their friends, or texting. Everytime I come into this store to pick up in order or just see if they have a certain product, I will stand by the counter and wait.....and wait.....and wait.....trying to get someone's attention so I can actually pick up my item, ask a question, or buy something. I have walked out of the store several times in disgust just because the 3-5 workers in the store won't help. Another issue is product availability. They hardly ever have enough of anything, if they have it at all, and with the way they get their new items shipped you have to wait almost a week more than other stores that got new product on release day. I don't event buy new product from them anymore because the staff is so completely unknowledgeable about anything when asked, and they hardly carry anything if it's not a CCG game. If they don't have the product they'll ask you to order it, which is kind of not the point of a brick and mortar gaming store. I want to play the game NOW, not wait another week till someone drives the product down to you that you should have already had. I also find their policy on certain tournaments to be rather misleading. They will schedule tournaments, and if enough people do not show to their liking they just won't run the tournament. Screw the people who wasted their time and gas money to get there. The only thing this place is good for is picking up online orders from their website (I'll be honest, the online prices are very good). But even I tend to avoid using them for that anymore because of my first reason, customer service. They lack any real management and since they're so far from the main store in Orlando, I guess it's hard to do anything to shape the store up. I really hope someone from the main store reads this and tries to fix the situation. It's terrible. read more

I love board games. I love getting a group together for a game night and enjoying a good night of healthy competition and most importantly, fun. I have attained a nice collection of party games and am always on the lookout for new games. I was on the hunt for a particular obscure title and the internet led me to this fine establishment. Walking in, the person behind the counter immediately greeted me and offered his assistance. The title I was looking for was not in their stock but they said they could have it shipped from their Orlando store and ready for pick up the next day. Not bad. I like that kind of service. All the while, the gentleman was very polite and helpful. The store is pretty big with varied inventory for the casual gamer to the hardcore, intense gamer. Very clean, well lit, and with lots of tables to host gaming sessions. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. I just wish they had a closer location. Picked up a couple of games from here. I shop at their online shop all the time and didn't realize they have a brick and mortar shop. Great selection. However, we board Legendary the Marvel Deck Building Game a few weeks ago and it had missing cards. Not their fault but they offered little help besides "call the manufacture directly to replace them." A friend had brought the DC Deck Building Game so I was really excited to pick up Legendary. Since it was the holidays, it room a while to get he replacement cards and I still haven't gotten a chance to play. Also picked up Mysterium, a solid co-op game. Tip: Their online shop gives reward points but the store doesn't. However, they offer free shipping to the store so order online and pick it up! read more

The staff is friendly enough and are helpful so this review is not a reflection on them, but they are basically charging scalper prices for their Pokemon product. They wanted $169.99 for an Evolving Skies booster box when the MSRP is $149.99. Pokemon is not that scarce anymore that you have to jack up the price that much. I went right down the road to T'z Games and got a booster box for $120.00 and to Hey Wanna Play and paid $145.00. Absolutely ridiculous to charge that much. Excellent selection of MtG singles and a large competitive scene. They play host to large groups of magic, yugioh and pokemon players. It's a great place to go for a game, and a better place to go for a competition. The biggest problem is with a large crowd of this type of gamer you do tend to get a very distinctive odor throughout the store. They just moved to this location from the old one a couple months ago at most...the new store seems to be larger and have a more open feel. They have some board games, and all of the TCG's Im aware of. You can order online and have it delivered to their store...they also have the prices from the internet in their shop, which can't be beat. The biggest downside is sometimes the people who go are far too competitive, and of course the aroma of the unwashed masses. read more

These guys changed their location, so I feel I should revise my review now. Again, speaking as someone who DOESN'T come here to play games: The new location is HUGE. My gripe with their previous location was that it was super small, and in order to browse the board game selection, you had to stand directly over the patrons as they played their games, which was a bit awkward. That's no longer even remotely the case. Better still, they've greatly expanded their selection as well. It's actually worth coming here just to browse now. Cool Stuff Games still has, bar none, the best prices on board games on the market (if I'm mistaken, please feel free to message me otherwise). These guys will save you $10 to $20 consistently on new board games, and that's just amazing. Unfortunately, I live a bit too far to make it worthwhile to regularly commute to this newer location, but I was very impressed during my visit. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I placed a order with them on 2/15. This was a order for cards needed for a event I was going two on 3/1. Their website said the delivery time frame was 5 to 12 days. This was from Maitland FL to Miami. Something that normally takes a few days. So when we reached 2/27 and my package hadn't arrived I called the company and spoke with Anthony. He told me that time frame was just "estimated" and "there is no time frame for arrival". I then requested at refund since my order hadn't arrived and I had to order the items at a local shop to have them when I needed them. So Anthony said he'd enter the shipping claim and refund my money since I requested to cancel the order and get a refund. So checking my mail box yesterday, the order I canceled was in the mail box. So I call the company today and get Anthony again. He tells me "that all the orders that shipped on that day when to the wrong UPS warehouse(a very large amount of orders) and I was the first to complain that I didn't get my order". So rather then canceling the order like I requested(which he agreed to do) and refunded me for the items I no longer needed, they decided to send me the order. Now I have to take more time(which is money) and send it back to them to get the refund I requested a week ago. Best part is at first I was to send it back out of pocket, then only after did they "find a way" to email me a pre-paid shipping label through Fedx. But the repackaging, materials and time to send it back are at my expense. (Edited 3/24) As a added note. I decided to drop the order they mailed to me after canceling and when I got there, the guy at the register told me that this other representative could handle the return. He was standing two feet behind him texting on his phone and continued to text even after heard the conversation and was asked by the other rep to handle the return. I recently started coming here instead my other local shops and now have been coming at least 3 times a week. My friends and I love coming here buying some packs of our favorite card games, getting some cheap drinks and snacks that they have for sale, and spending hours just playing and meeting cool people there. I can honestly say this is hands down the BEST Locals in South Florida. No one has better deals on what they sell. There is a huge amount of space here compared to other locals around Florida and the staff is great. The system they have for buying/selling singles is amazing and saves a lot of time.
