On a positive note, we now have no shortage of Christmas and birthday presents. As mentioned, Mudd Studio offers wheel throwing and hand building workshops of various lengths (1 day, 3 day, etc.) They also offer studio membership. As a member, you have 24 hour access to the studio as well as use of the equipment, supplies, glazes, etc. My wife has never mentioned a negative thing about the place or people there - only that it is a positive, supportive and inspiring community. Its location in Chinatown (Smith Street) makes it a great addition to the local art scene. Support local businesses!

Our instructor, Paola, was fantastic--she explained each step clearly and gave us plenty of space to experiment and practice at our own pace. She struck the perfect balance between guidance and freedom, and I always felt supported. Between the two of us, we made four pieces: two cute little ice cream bowls, a pretty little green cup, and a small planter that I'm absolutely in love with. The class was fun, relaxed, and such a great way to connect--not only with each other, but also with the other classmates in our small group. I saw some…read moreTiktoks a few years ago of tufting class and was sad that we didn't have anything like that here. So when I was looking for activities, I was so excited to see this class show up! We had to reschedule one time but they were super understanding and I was easily able to reschedule on the Airbnb app! The owner Chiara, was super friendly and welcoming when we arrived! She went through all the steps and safety to ensure our experience was seamless. We brought our own designs and got them approved by her but she also has examples you can use as inspiration too. If you bring your own design, for first timers I recommend something simple with simple lines and colors so you don't feel too rushed. You also have to draw your own design on the canvas but done worry too much if you're not confident in your drawing skills. The process is very forgiving so it'll still turn out good even if you don't draw your design perfectly! We had so much fun and loved how our pieces turned out! I highly recommend booking a tufting class here to anyone!

I showed him the posts and he told me to sign him up right away. You have to register and pay online through their site. The Art and Tech Sunday Day Camp is perfect for our schedule. The hours are from 9AM-4PM. You can do full or half day. We need a little rest on Sunday's so the 1PM-4PM works out well for us. I'm glad I left a little earlier from Kaneohe to find their location. GPS takes you right there but there is on signage for OAT. I didn't know it was upstairs from all the restaurants. I called the number they have listed on yelp and they let us know to go up stairs. Two of the teachers greeted us at the door. They showed us around and explained what they were going to learn. His first art lesson was with Andy Lee. He is an artist for Marvel, Dragon Ball Z, etc. He was teaching Chinese brush strokes. My son jumped right in and started using the brush. After 2 hours of Art class he went to Tech class where he learned to make a vacuum out of a water bottle , card board and batteries. Yesterday day was his 2nd Sunday and he learned 3D pen art and how to construct a mini elevator/lift. He loves everything about OAT. They also give them a little time to play with big building blocks and robotic toys. He wants me to leave him there from 9AM-4PM so he can learn more. Maybe next session. I remember when Fishschool first started offering classes. There was one classroom, 5 buckets of…read moreglazes, one kiln room, and no sink, wheels, tools, and erratic air conditioning system. In spite of that, clay classes were great - some of the taught by the late, great Esther Nowell. Nowadays, it is as good as a large well organized ceramic school with wedging tables, slab roller, wheels, double sinks, and even more classes of varying subjects. The only drawback to this place is the parking situation - on the street - and sparse at that. It is an exciting clay studio with membership options. Fishcake houses the Fishschool and we go through the always dynamic and changing art displays on our way to class. Excellent food vendors take turns in the front with very delicious food during lunch. I am so proud at how far this little school has grown into a great option for people who want to learn and continue ceramics. I still take classes from them - the latest being Shisas with Dane Nakama. I built a huge one with hair and curly ques, fierce eyes and eyebrows. Love it!!!

She had lots of good suggestions and totally understood what I was going for. She created a Pinterest board for us to share photos which was super helpful. We met one more time before the wedding to finalize everything. Of all of my vendors, I think she was my favorite to work with! Florals will be one of the more pricey items on your vendor list, but I promise that if you hire Posy Parties, you will be SO happy with the results. I spoke with a few other florists before deciding to book with Manu; not only was she extremely timely in her responses, but her prices were very reasonable in comparison, and our consultations couldn't have been easier. I spoke with Manu over the phone several times, and emailed her pictures of what I had envisioned. I actually NEVER personally met her, as I was so busy the day of the wedding that I never got to meet her! Manu went above and beyond everything that I could have imagined with the flowers... People kept complimenting our beautiful bouquets and asking who we used. She turned our concrete jungle ceremony site into a beautiful fairytale. Many of my other vendors had never even heard of Posy Parties. Although Posy Parties is not as mainstream as many other florists on the island, I'm so glad that i went with my gut and trusted Manu with our flowers. I'm not sure who runs the gallery now, but you will still see his seascapes and mountainous oils. This place is so quiet and lush green. They once had lemurs, monkeys, and exotic birds. I could sit there forever...great place to meditate with art mixed in throughout the property...so aesthetic. No picture taking allowed of the art work. The garden has pottery pieces throughout which are art. Bonsai trees are blended in and art in itself. We try to make events of new upcoming island artists. We were greeted and asked to show our vaccination cards. Remember, it's up to a private business whether they want full COVID19 practice including mask wearing.
