I was looking for a new hair stylist in the Ridge Meadows area and was pleasantly surprised to find…read moreMoz Hair Studio. I have really fine hair and it is extremely difficult for most stylists to cut properly. I checked out their Facebook Page and liked the pics of the styles, they had done for other clients and was quite impressed. Also I saw a comment on the page from a prospective client asking whom could do the best make over for someone. The answer that was given was anyone in the studio could do it without a problem. I thought was a really cool answer because none of the hair salons I have been to in the past could say the same. I called Moz and spoke with Cynthia and she assured me that she could cut, style and colour my hair without a problem and that she had a lot of experience with fine hair. On the day of my appointment, I was 10 minutes early and I spoke with Gail at the desk and she asked me to have a seat and went to get Cynthia for me. The hair salon itself is very clean, which is a big thing for me. All of the other stylists seemed to be enjoying themselves as they worked. They also 100% recycle all of the product packaging that they use in their salon, which is another important thing for me. Cynthia introduced herself and sat me in her chair. I told her, I needed a change, but not sure what, so I let her create a style for me. I was really pleased with the result and it was quite eye catching. Thanks Moz!

They barely spoke to me did not understand my hair and didn't even try to shape it to my face. I was in and out in 30 minutes. So...2/5 stars I…read morestopped by Classic Salon around 1:30pm today and asked if it'd be possible to get a haircut. I was told to come back at 2 since everyone was busy...I asked the hairdressers if she thought there would be an earlier slot as I had to go to church at 3pm and she seemed confused by my question. I could tell off the bat that there was a bit of a language barrier but as an immigrant, I decided to give the hairdresser the benefit of the doubt. I came back at 2, I didn't get her name, but my hairdresser did well at checking in on me and making sure the haircut was good. What I disliked about my experience was that there was a sign outside that said "women's haircuts $25", not starting at, just that they were $25. The hairdresser charged me $35. Again, I figured it was okay since most places in the area charge about $40 for a haircut. Around 2:35 she was about finished and she asked me if I wanted her to blow dry my hair, I asked if there would be a charge for that and she said yes, so I told her I didn't want to blow dry my hair as I was going to be late for church on Good Friday. She repeated "no blow drying" and I agreed, she then proceeded to section my hair and start blow drying it which took 15 minutes... I thought maybe she was being nice and didn't want me to leave the shop with wet hair. As it was getting closer to 3, I told her I had to go. I repeatedly asked her if I could just pay her as I was in a rush. Still, she took her phone out and started taking pictures of my hair, then continued to trim some pieces off for details. All this caused me to miss the last bus that'd take me to church on time, so I had to pay for an Uber. This was really frustrating as I told her a number of times that I needed to leave and she did not seem to care. In the end, she charged me $45 (she charged me for blow drying it), for a haircut that was meant to originally be $25. I did not tip. She mentioned that it was a good price because downtown haircuts are about $100. I grew up in South Vancouver and haircuts are usually about $20-30 for women, so...Not a great experience.

Jeanie and Tui worked well together, responsive, most pleasant, and with great skills. I enjoyed what I can only call the best pedicure I've ever had, and I try to get foot massages/pedicures every chance I get when traveling. This was reasonably priced, came with foot and calf massage after a nice warm soak, exfoliation, toenail cuticle care, buffing, 4 coats, hot towel, bottle of water, all delivered to me in a full on massage recliner. Pure bliss. My daughter was equally pleased with her dip gel manicure and Eyebrow Threading. She found both to be quick, efficient, most reasonably priced, and professionally executed. Great choice of colors, too. We will definitely be back when next in the area.

Being new to the area I wanted to find a salon that would be close, skilled and enjoyable…read more I feel fortunate in my choice of this location. I'm not sure if the name is accurate lol. They were available for a same-day appointment, reserved only a few hours in advance. The only detractor of the location are the parking costs of being in "Downtown" New Westminster on a Sunday. From the moment coming in to the salon I was joyfully greeted by Trish , who was happy to accommodate my request for a little distance from other unmasked customers, even though it meant starting up a new pedicure chair. As an immuno compromised person, I still take care in enclosed spaces. I can sometimes be made to feel a burden by such requests even with available space. There was a substantial amount of nail polish colours to choose from and no extra charge if you selected something sparkly. My nail technician, Amy, was friendly and professional over the rough state of my feet. When you have a busy schedule and pedicures aren't possible, some places put a lot of effort into trying to make you feel bad about your feet being rough. I was very glad that this place wasn't like that because it definitely changes the enjoyment level of something that is meant to be a relaxing bit of self-care. Trish noticed my broken fingernail and suggested fixing it. she said the price for, a polish change versus full mani was only five dollars so I went ahead with the full Mani Pedi. There was a bit of a hiccup with both my color choices not coming out the way they seemed on the examples but both Trish and Amy were helpful in sorting it out to my satisfaction. Amy thoughtfully touched base with me throughout the Mani Pedi to make sure that nothing hurt and I was feeling OK. Lovely service that included hot towels and leg massage. I look forward to visiting them another time.
