BUYER BEWARE. I would not use AW Heating & Cooling again…read more
I paid nearly $20,000 for a Breeze33 mini-split system installed by AW as the primary heating system for my northwest Ohio home. It has struggled to maintain adequate heat during very cold weather, forcing us to use space heaters and heated blankets while my winter electric bill reached approximately $1,000 per month. Based on its actual performance, I do not believe this was an appropriate primary heating solution for our climate.
I also experienced repeated heating failures and refrigerant problems. At one point, my family had to stay in a hotel for nearly a week because we did not have adequate heat while waiting for service.
To be fair, AW was initially responsive and repaired at least one flare fitting under warranty. Over time, however, communication became less cooperative, interactions became rude, and service delays became much longer.
During another heating failure, AW was taking so long to respond that I contacted Airstream Heating & Cooling simply to restore heat. AW later inspected the system but did not identify the refrigerant-loss problem.
The following winter, VonDeylen evaluated the system and found a bad flare fitting and no refrigerant. I also have photos showing the system displaying a PC02 Breeze33 protection/error code.
I ultimately paid $873.63 out of pocket for corrective repairs and requested reimbursement from AW. They refused. I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section, and AW declined to resolve the matter through the AG's voluntary dispute-resolution process.
After spending nearly $20,000, I expected reliable heat, competent installation, and reasonable support. Instead, I experienced repeated failures, additional repair costs, poor winter performance, and extremely high electric bills.
If you are considering AW for a major HVAC installation, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and getting all equipment, sizing, and installation details in writing.
I wish I had done that before spending nearly $20,000 with this company.
