It is also close to Kanab, where Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is, and Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. There is plenty to do in the area. There is a main, large house that has a few bedrooms - it includes a big living area, kitchen, etc. But, I opted for a completely separate cabin right next door and I loved it. It was so clean and fresh. There's a separate bedroom area, bathroom, and full, huge kitchen. It was cold, so there was a beautiful (fake) fireplace and a heater that kept the cabin nice and warm. It has a very cool Southwestern décor that is perfect. There are birdfeeders all around with hummingbirds, and a variety of small birds - and the scenery is beautiful in the area. You turn into a secluded drive (if you don't see the sign for it, you'll miss it) - cross a little bridge over a creek, and go up a hill to the main house. You are immediately greeted by the adorable and sweet Rocket the dog. The innkeepers, Terry and Audrey, are a wonderful and welcoming couple. In the morning, they were a great team cooking a fabulous breakfast; both are very interesting, kind people. The breakfast was delicious eggs and homemade pancakes, along with fresh fruit, orange juice, and a great cup of coffee! Plenty of good eats! The cabin was filled with a lot of DVD's, and more magazines than you could ever read about the area. There is also high-speed wireless internet. There is a regular TV and DVD player, but I don't know if there is cable TV. Consider yourself lucky if you get accommodations here - is a great place to stay, and deserves its fantastic reviews!

The hosts made amazing breakfasts every morning and even surprised us with a cake during our stay in celebration of our 10th anniversary. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The house is full of interesting history. The hosts gave us excellent restaurant advice too. I hope I get to pay Purple Sage Inn a visit again in the future!

Adding to this nostalgic atmosphere is Kathy, the host, who provides meaning and memories for everything in the home. While stepping back in time is enjoyable, and discovering something new in each room is entertaining, the experience of staying at the inn is very much modern and comfortable. If you are ever in Kanab, a stay at the Inn is a must. Kathy's attention to her guests enhances the pleasure of staying at the inn. Her attention to detail is boundless. The coziness of the bed and bedding, along with her thoughtful care of her guests, does not go unnoticed. And, of course, one cannot compliment her breakfasts enough. Delicious fruit, beautifully displayed, fresh juice of your choice, and mouthwatering entrées are all part of the experience. If you don't already have plans, Kathy will help you with her ideas, resourcefulness, maps, and brochures. Her husband, Tory, available when he can be, is also a gracious host and tends the bountiful garden that supplies much of Kathy's cooking. The two are so much fun to get to know and share conversations with, and it's clear that they are just as delighted by their guests, whether they've come from across the globe or just a state away. I didn't expect to make such lasting memories, but I can confidently say that you cannot go wrong choosing the Purple Sage Inn.

Living near the beach has it's perks but one thing we don't experience at home is snow.  During our stay we experienced light snow flurries.  It was magical walking through the snow and watching the farm being snowed on.  It was like the scene at the start of Citizen Kane with the snow globe shaken up and snow landing everywhere.  I loved feeling the light pieces of snow landing on me. Very nice cabin.  I loved how well insulated it was.  I noticed the temperature went down to 11F at 6am.  Inside the cabin was toasty with the portable heater set on low. Kitchen had a mini-fridge/freezer which was able to hold 3 of my ice packs plus a quart of ice cream.  I might have gotten a half gallon of ice cream in but then none of my ice packs would fit.  There was a microwave, plates, and utensils. Lots of farm animals to check out.  We saw chickens in the chicken coop.  Goats in their pen.  A donkey.  Cows.  A few cats.  A very friendly dog owned by the staff. Staff was very nice and informative. I loved staying at the Arrowhead Country Inn & Cabins

Even though we stayed during the last week of March, the temperatures were in the teens at night and the 30's during the day. It lightly snowed which was so beautiful to see, while not really affecting the roads. The cabin had two space heaters, one for the bathroom and one for the remaining area. They have a total of seven cabins, a gift shop (with wonderfully handmade scented goat milk soaps, lotions and more) small restaurant, pool/spa (open only when warm), a farm with goats, cows, mules, chickens (one duck), miniature ponies and one cat. I just don't know where to begin as it's obvious every detail has been well thought out and executed. The gift shop is just full of lovely handmade items. The goat milk is sourced from yes you guessed it, the goats on the farm. The breakfast that is included with your stay each morning is made with eggs from the cute chickens on the farm. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows are provided. The bed has a nice extra pillow top, making it super comfortable. A mini kitchen comes with; a small refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, dishes, glasses, microwave and plenty of towels/washcloths. The shower (in the garden cabin) is huge and wheelchair accessible for those who need it. Towels, soap and shampoo is provided. There is a small table inside as well as outside by the front door patio. I really appreciated the thoughtful binder (found inside the cabin) containing loads of information about the surrounding area. As it gave me many ideas of how to plan my day. They are located near the east entrance to Zion National Park and close to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. You can walk around the grounds and say hello to the farm animals. I chatted with the chickens, goats and the friendly cat. The chicken coop is huge with an automatic door (so they can go in/out) that closes at dusk. Keeping them safe from pesky predators. The goat barn is cozy with heaters. They were a bit reluctant to come out, that is until they thought I had food! The birds visit the grass area in front of the cabin, hopping around and pausing now and then to gaze back in my direction. I'd love to see this place in full spring bloom. With all of the trees and plants blooming. This place feels like home. Definitely will plan to visit on my next trip this way.

At 500 sq. ft, it feels spacious and serene, with a sitting area over looking the river below, blackout drapes, soaking tub, seperate walk-in shower, pillow-top mattress, workplace, and a 55" TV that my man really appreciates. But the best part is the large private balcony with seating and a direct view of The Watchman, one of Zion's most iconic peaks. Sunrises and sunsets from here are epic. Your stay includes, wifi, parking, year-round access to the outdoor pools and hot tubs, fire pits, fitness center, bathrobes and slippers, ac/heat, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and fresh coffee each morning near the lobby. On-site you'll also find a restaurant by the name of Anthera, and a spa, both of which I recommend. With 53 rooms, the property doesn't feel like just another standard hotel. What truly sets it apart though, is what lies just behind it, the lush riverside gardens. Ending your day sitting by the river, listening to the water move past as your thoughts quiet and your whole body softens. In the morning expect to see a lot of deer grazing in the grass areas. It's genuinely spellbinding. If the restaurant on property doesn't interest you there are other walkable options nearby and this property does not allow pets. Breakfast is available for an additional fee.

The pool and hot tub area are fantastic, especially after a long day of hiking. You really can't beat the location, it's just minutes from the park entrance, so it's easy to walk or take the shuttle. Everything about our stay was top-notch. We can't wait to come back.
