The tour guide Joseph was so kind and full of energy. The video you watch when you get there is a very heart felt explanation of the passion to continue this community. They own 800 acres and the property is built on 20 acres, it was built between 1971-1975 for the main spaces that are shared. 45 people live there but could range to 80. They show how the products and structure are made. I had no clue about silk casts and loved the hands on understanding and history. They have concerts, events, gatherings. Etc at the amphitheater. Check out the website. The cafe is closed. You can stay as a hotel guest overnight. They offer apprenticeship also.

Clearly what the original architect had in mind many years ago never came to fruition as it really hasn't changed in years. Is appears to be a small artist community but we didn't see anything going on at the moment so couldn't tell if it id still active or they make everything south in Scottsdale at Cosanti. There is a gift shop where you can watch a brief video on the history and learn about their wind chime creations. Personally I've received many of the wind chimes over the last 20 years for housewarmings or Christmas gifts. Each is unique. The greeter in the gift shop was friendly and stated there is a tour available as well. We didn't have time for the tour but purchased a couple of small gifts. He suggested visiting the Scottsdale location as well which is called Cosanti. I had no idea it was located in Scott's well. Will check it out.

He didn't hover over us, just let us do our thing and that was the best. He goes into some detail regarding the history of Jerome/Cottonwood which was interesting. We had so much fun that the 2 hours we were out there felt like 15 minutes. He even let us take the spirit box and EVP with us for the night! Super cool experience and would highly recommend it to anyone that likes to ghost hunt!

Ranch Trail #62 from Senator highway is part of the Prescott Circle trail and has fabulous 270…read moredegree views from west to east taking in the Sierra Prietas to the west, Thumb Butte, the San Francisco Peaks and Prescott Valley. Access the trail from the Watershed parking lot on the east side of Senator highway near Goldwater lake. The trail starts in scrub oak and within 1/2 mile you will have nice views west including Goldwater Lakes. This first part is unshaded so best to do early if you are going in the summer or hike fall through spring. As you turn to face north the trail is nicely shaded and pines and oaks take over as you meander in the forest. In late October the fall colors were stunning. You can take this trail about 5 miles in to the junction with 9854, and go back the way you came, which is the most scenic; or shorten your round trip by 3 miles by taking the 9854 south for 0.8 min, the taking the Watershed trail #299 southwest and back to your parking spot. Watershed is a rough, hilly and rocky ATV trail, but on a Saturday in peak leaf viewing season, I saw no ATVs or even other hikers. #299 has views to the south giving you a full 360 experience, but it is not a particularly attractive trail other than a nice flat portion in the pines so if you have the time, go back the way you came.

Upon arrival we had to wait a few minutes longer than start time, but it was because agent ensured we were able to tour without any other group issues! We had John T as our driver and this was one of the best tours we have had in a very long time! We laughed so hard, we literally cried. He was knowledgeable and funny and accommodating, and we would recommend this tour and John T to anyone even thinking about it. In terms of difficulty, there were moments that were a little harrowing, but we were definitely at ease with our driver. The views and experience more than make up for it though! Please do yourself a favor and utilize this company and ask for John T. Because we booked more than one tour with them, they even accommodated a deal for us on our next tour! Such a great time had by all!!

The trail guide points out numerous topographic, geologic and historical areas. Finish up with a walk along the gardens. There are many benches along the way and also a children's play area.

The sourdough peanut butter & strawberry jelly sandwich really hit the spot after walking all the way out and back to/from the cornfield in the warm sunshine. You can adjust it however you'd like and make it so you can put your feet up. The parking lot is also pretty spacious so there should always be plenty of parking and the theater has plenty of good films to choose from. However, if you come here at night be very cautious in the parking lot as it can be pretty dark and it's easy to get lost too if you don't know where you parked. But I would still recommend going to this theater to watch any movie that is currently showing. Give it a shot.
