While there are several large commercial motels across the river, the Arvon offers better prices and a more convenient location. We have had a great stay at our hotel. This is an historic little hotel which I love and it's super cute and the rooms are nice and clean. It's in a nice location and the staff is very nice. My favorite part has been it has a restaurant adjacent with a bar my boys and dad have absolutely loved going to daily. The wait staff especially Aria was amazing at the Celtic Cowboy restaurant have been so nice. And there is a brunch as amazing brunch as well. This has made our weekend family trip so nice. I've never checked myself into a hotel before. It went easy and smooth. Rooms are not very big. Bathroom was decent size.

Do not use this hotel for group bookings or business stays. Unskilled management led to a lot of problems for my group booking. Rooms were not provided as contracted. My guests were inconvenienced by hour late airport pickups, room layouts that didn't meet needs and long waits at the hotel front desk. The manager, Yannack, put blame on staff but all of the problems started and ended with him and the lack of care he showed throughout was unprofessional and disappointing. It does not appear that group bookings are this hotels specialty. Very disappointing stay and I would never trust this hotel to accommodate my business group again. read more

I stayed at this hotel last week. I missed my flight into GTF and called this hotel to tell them. When I arrived one day late (after prepaying for 3 nights), the desk clerk summarily informed me that I was a "no show," and she would need to find my reservation and see if I could get a room. After much argument -- including tears from the clerk and her trying to tell me that I couldn't have a room for the night (this was at 10pm), the situation was escalated to the manager, I finally got a room for the night. I have been traveling for my entire career and I've never experienced anything like this. I only got an apology when I wrote a letter to the manager. Mind you, I was surprised that no effort to monetarily make me whole was made. This place may be historic, but it needs to refresh its customer service. In addition, the fixtures and carpeting in my room were dated and stained. Lastly, I know they tell you this when you book your room, but many of the rooms do not have windows. Where I live you cannot have a bedroom without a window per fire code. Very strange. read more

Lovely historic converted hotel. It was a carriage house at one point. There is a small garage for parking, which is a nice perk for a downtown hotel. The room we had was spacious and clean. The only issue is there are no outside windows - the 'window' in our room was a frost pane that faced the hallway. There was a surprisingly good continental breakfast with burritos and frittatas to microwave, as well as coffee, cereal, and coffee cakes. That was a perk I didn't expect since it wasn't included in the Hotels.com listing! Overall nice place, docked a star for lack of external windows. Good walkable location for downtown GTF, especially if you're going to a show. read more

When I stayed at the hotel arvon. The front desk lady bri was very rude. And was too busy to help me cause she was watching her tablet. In that little back room. Even though I had palm sized blood stains on my sheets. In a room I literally checked into not even twenty minutes before hand.. there was bugs in the piece of flooring that separates the bathroom from the room. And not dead ones I'm talking live bugs just crawling all around that one piece of flooring going into the seam of the floor I took a video of it and she didn't even want to see it I thought it was disgusting I recommend nobody to stay in this hotel it is very gross and not professional what so ever.. read more

Excuse the length of this review. This hotel is billed as a "luxury hotel " in Great Falls. We stayed here years ago, and opted to come back and give it another go. We booked online with a third-party, possibly a mistake. At check-in I asked if there was any choice of rooms and she said no. They are "full." She put us in room 101, a tiny indoor room, no window, as many of the rooms in this hotel have. It was the first room right next to the lobby and restaurant entrance with traffic and a tile floor, and very noisy. But the bigger problem was it was very very cold -and dark. I immediately asked for an upgrade. The fairly expensive room quickly became a very expensive "suite" on the second floor. There were two large windows in the room, but they don't open. This room has a sitting area and a king bed and the same bathroom as the other rooms. Appears wheelchair accessible Appointments are modern, but of the cheapest variety. There is a "kitchen "area, but not a functional one. We ordered food from the restaurant near the lobby, as they promote, went down to get it and brought it to the room, Expecting dishes and silverware. Please see pics - only two teaspoons and a butter knife LOL. No plates even !?! No napkins. No salt. Nothing. After a trip back down to the restaurant for utensils we ate ok food (don't get the corned beef.) It was very cold in this room as well, so we went to bed early. The thermostat on the wall is a joke. I don't think it is operable to guests. I called and the gal at the desk told me she controls the heat from there. It registered 75 but it was maybe 60 in the room. I searched for extra blankets and there were none in the room. Called down again and she was nice enough to bring one up. She also adjusted our thermostat, but it literally took until 3 AM to warm the room. We were cold virtually all night, and then too hot. In the middle of the night I got up to try to adjust it and the digital screen was quite impossible. Couldn't open a window. Thought we should start our day with a hot shower. The bathroom reminds me of a Motel 6 bathroom, truly. The shower control is very difficult - starts cold and you have to step WAY back to get out of the way- and when I finally managed to turn it to the highest temp, it was barely warn enough - also probably controlled centrally. Went down for the "included breakfast" and it's a "grab-n-go" situation now - she said "due to covid," (although restaurant restrictions are now lifted?) Kinda one thing after another. What finally prompted this public yelp was there is a big "comments" card in the room inviting suggestions. Searched everywhere and there's NO PEN OR PENCIL anywhere. (Who carries a pen anymore?!) Typical of the stay! LOL I think they remodeled and run this hotel as cheaply as possible, without much care at all for guest comfort, and upcharge it as a "luxury hotel." It would be so easy to change a few simple things, and create a different experience for guests. Not smart. I would have been ok with it for the original price - not delighted, but OK. We have stayed in everything from top five star plus resorts to the simplest Airbnb rooms. It's not the money, per se. But being honest, were very disappointed for the price we paid at Arvon. Stayed here for 4 nights for a work function. Hotel is quaint and quirky but not great if your traveling for work. The Wifi was extremely slow and unreliable and the tv service was out once during my stay. Also the rooms are small and there was no desk so I had to do my work sitting on my bed As many of the other reviews stated there are no windows in many of the rooms. I inquired at the front desk about moving but was told they had no rooms with windows available. According to the front desk person I spoke to about half the rooms don't have windows. It can get claustrophobic if you have to spend any amount of time in your room. It's very unfortunate they don't disclose this when booking. I suspect they don't as I think it would deter many guests from booking. Unfortunately it is what is giving them the bad reviews They would be better served disclosing this up front and avoiding an unhappy guest who likely won't come back but also leaves with a bad experience and may leave a bad review Unfortunately on my next trip I will find another alternative read more

Nice, clean place to get away from chain hotels. This place was very nice, unique, privately owned hotel. The rooms are small but just what you need for one night. One HUGE plus to this place, that they don't mention, is their private parking garage so you don't have to park on the streets. Also breakfast vouchers to Celtic Cowboy are nice. The breakfast is better than the dinner. Overall this is a pretty cool place. read more

I travel often for fun, and I like to avoid hotel chains if I can- because many cities have cool, unique hotels... Great Falls has a neat one here!! To start- I was very warmly greeted by the front desk attendant (if you check in late, the door may be locked), and given a parking pass (free parking). This is a historic building... There are only 33 rooms here- I was on the 3rd floor. There is an elevator! The room was modern and everything seemed very new- no signs of wear and tear. Great pillows! The bed was a little bit firm for my liking (but then again- I like beds as soft/pillowy as possible). Very modern, spacious bathroom. There is a restaurant next door- the Celtic Cowboy- where they serve breakfast for guests until 10:30am, breakfast is free after a $10 voucher they give you upon check in. I did not eat here, but the restaurant looks nice! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel! read more

My husband and I loved our stay at the Arvon. We stayed for 4 nights, and found the place charming. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.We had an extremely early morning flight on the day we arrived in Great Falls, and I needed to put my head down for a little nap. We arrived at the hotel early, before the check in time, but they were able to check us in. Our room was cute- not very big, but the king sized bed was comfortable. The room also had a frig, microwave and coffee maker. It also included a sitting bench. It did have 2 windows in the room, but they faced inside the hotel. The room worked for us. They also have their own parking garage behind the hotel. It was our first visit to Great Falls and thought staying downtown would be a nice place to stay. The Arvon did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my stay at this quaint, historic hotel. The rooms are well appointed, warm, and comfortable. Beware though if you need a desk; while a lap desk is provided, the historic-sized rooms don't allow for a ton of furniture. I slept well in a very quiet room, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Parking is convenient in the garage across the alley, which I really appreciated because it snowed about 5" the night I was there (no scraping snow off my rental car! Yay!). Staff was friendly and welcoming, and after a long drive through tough weather to get there, having an attached restaurant was beyond convenient. The renovations done here are immaculate, bringing modern touches and comfort while preserving historic decor. I love the vibe! I'll stay here again next time I find myself spending a night in Great Falls, and highly recommend the accommodations here over the run-of-the-mill chain choices in town. read more

We checked into the hotel after 5 days on the Smith River and were greeted with a friendly check-in. There is interesting art throughout the hotel, don't forget to stop and check it out if you have time. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed and great shower. The Celtic Cowboy next door did not disappoint either. We had a great meal and enjoyed the traditional live Irish music. What a cool place. It is small but the rooms are well appointed and have such a unique blend of the western and restored history and downtown. It is s unique experience staying here and I would definitely recommend it. You kind of feel like you are in Ireland somewhere when you peer out the window. But you definitely know you are in MT when you walk down the hall and see all the art depicting the old west and native Americans. This hotel was lovely. We were greeted like friends at the front desk. She talked us through the parking, which is in a secure building behind the hotel, you need a key card to access it. The rooms were spacious and the beds were great. We had a double queen and never felt cramped in the room. It was cozy without being dated. Beautiful art covered the walls and every thing was clean and well lit. The shower had plenty of power behind it and the shampoo/conditioner and soap provided were good. Fantastic place to stay! The staff is excellent...knowledgeable and super friendly! Staying here was a treasure. The rooms and the hotel itself was extremely, extremely clean as well as having so much character! I loved learning about the history of the building and looking at the art displayed in all the hallways. I was afraid I was going to have to stay at a chain hotel in Great Falls but lucked out finding this hotel on Kayak! I think the price is extremely reasonable as well... The price includes a delicious free breakfast next door at the Celtic Cowboy and an airport shuttle. Marcus and Angie were extremely personable. Stayed here for New Year's Eve! We got the queen size suite which was a very nice room! Staff was friendly and the room was clean! Stayed here unexpectedly. Great little historic hotel! Very clean, friendly service, nice rooms and bathrooms seem very new. You get a $10 voucher for a buffet next door at the Celtic Cowboy which is pretty good. Or wait till 1030 for some menu options. Beware that most rooms don't have any exterior facing windows at all (there's a small window to the hallway but provides no sunlight). We were not informed of this until we already checked into our room. Felt like we were staying in a box. Thankfully we're not claustrophobic or it would have been a big issue. Also not sure how this isn't a fire hazard. The staff was rude when I asked if we could move to a room with a window. I was informed the entire hotel was already full but later saw many groups checking in after us. Also, the staff should do simple things to be nicer, like saying "hi" to guests when they enter the small lobby. read more

She was so personable and welcoming, the perfect first impression to a hotel that surpassed our expectations. It is historic yet with all of the modern amenities. The artwork throughout the hotel is amazing. Breakfast included in the room rate at the adjacent Celtic Cowboy was a real value with a hearty selection of items - the French toast bread pudding was very tasty.
