Was looking for a good place for my son to get a haircut. I called to make an appointment and it took three tries before someone picked up. In the meantime I had also reached out through Facebook to book. Made an appointment and we arrived five minutes beforehand. There is nobody to check you in. The front is a waiting area and there is a wall which separates the stations from the front. A barber who was free asked what we were in for and I told him we had an appointment with T. He gestured to the other side from where he was and we looked back towards the two barbers there. Both had customers. My son went back when beckoned and was told by T to wait. It took a bit and I was not very happy as we had an appointment. Finally it was his turn and he went back for his cut. The atmosphere here is chaotic and there was a little child running around and seeking attention. Pretty sure he was there as his dad was a barber. I don't mind except that he kept getting into things and yelling. The haircut was meh. And when I asked how we pay, I was told cash only. No mention of that on their Facebook page. When I asked cash only? I was informed there's an atm in the corner. Also was over charged because the price for a teen haircut listed on their Facebook page is $20 ages 13-17. And men's $25 for 18 and up. T said $30 and it's 17 and up. I didn't argue and even gave him a tip but we won't be going back. I feel ripped off and the whole experience was not positive. If you want a military style cut which I saw a ton of, this is your place. But for anything else I'd go somewhere else. read more

Called to ask if there was a wait on a Friday night. The guy on the phone laughed at me and said no. Went in about 2 minutes after, both guys are busy. After standing there for 5 minutes with 0 acknowledgement, the one guy sitting there on his phone called to another guy cutting hair. That guy then proceeded to look at me say "yeah?" What do you mean "yeah?" I explained I was a walk-in for a haircut after which he said "well we are busy. You can wait and we will get to you when we are done." What happened to not being busy? And being rude to potential customers is a good way to NOT have repeat business. No idea how this garbage establishment has 4 stars. read more

Went in today for my first time. I went in to get my hair colored, conditioned and trimmed. I came in feeling aight to leaving feeling my best self and beautiful. My hair feels so much better and I love the color. The atmosphere was really dope and great music. I sat in KB'S chair and I will definitely go back to her. She was sweet and told me everything she was doing as she was doing it. She had a cut before me and that boy looked like a whole new person when she was done with him. I didn't even know this place existed in Southlands. What a surprise! I took my daughters here to get their hair done in anticipation for the first day of school and was really impressed. It has your neighborhood barber shop feel, a barber shop on one side and a beauty salon on the other (hence the name) it was very welcoming, was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. The place was packed, so I would like to safely assume that they are doing good business. The clientele was diverse and was a great environment. It's great to see a multicultural barber shop/salon in this area, it is a great reflection of the neighborhood. We will definitely be back. BTW... Review is specifically for Tee only. Everyone else is good and I've gone to most of the workers there to get my hair cut. 4 months I told this guy I wanted a Low Taper Fade because I have an undercut so it doesn't have a bulky look and he proceeds to give me a low fade and mess the top of my hair up so bad. Fast forward to today, my barber wasn't in and I thought "how bad could it be?". So i do a walk-in and decide to give him a second chance. I say " low taper fade" with "1 inch off the top". Proceeds to tell me that "1 inch off the top, isn't gonna make a difference" Like tf, that's what I'm paying for. Midway through the cut he does the same exact thing giving me a fade all the way through my hair which leaves the undercut to be bulky. Moral of the story, TEE is the worst barber there. There was a gentleman that told he could cut my sons hair the next time he needed it. I came here and Im beyond grateful that I did. Brandon , Rico and I believe Stan have cut my sons hair. Majority of the time when I take my daughter to get a hair cut I am worried, she has mixed hair and it grows super fast. I straighten it before cuts to make sure it is even and comb it out for the stylists. First time here and will be back 100%. T was so nice to her and made her comfortable in the chair. If I based my review on my first visit here, it would be 5 stars. I walked in without an appointment, got in a chair right away, and got my hair cut very well. I was incredibly happy with the job the guy did on my bangs because he gave me exactly what I was asking for. I paid and walked out content with my visit. Now, if I based this review off my second visit, I would give it one star. The sign on the door says "walk-ins welcome," but I waited there for an hour with only two stylists available. Neither of them ever came up to me and instead just worked on the men who came in after me. Eventually I went up to the woman stylist there and she said she was booked for the next three hours and that she didn't cut women's hair. The other stylist there didn't cut women's hair either. So let me ask you this: why would you name a shop "His and Hers" if on a random day, you wouldn't have anyone in who can cut women's hair? And why would you have two big signs on the door read "walk-ins welcome" if you actually have to make an appointment most of the time to get seen? WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN ANY OF THAT? So basically, when they're on, they're on. They can do a really good job with women's hair IF they have anyone in who knows how to do it. They do allow walk-ins, but apparently it's very rare for you to get anything done within an hour of arriving if you didn't make an appointment ahead of time. read more

I would not recommend going here unless you don't care what people do to your hair. I give it a 2 star rating because they cut my hair and did not hurt me. I went there earlier today for a walk in, and gave the stylist one request, leave my bangs/front of my hair long. He asked me "is cutting this much off okay: and showed me like an inch or so protruding from the top of his fingers. From my experience the top part is the length removed, not the bottom part. He also managed to cut his thumb. I asked for one thing and they ruined my hair. I would not of cared if anything else was messed up, but my hair was lopped off. I regret paying. I was going to give this hair a chance, but once I got outside and ran my fingers through my hair I realized how much he ruined me for six months. read more

I went in the place looked good my son was about 5 or 7 at the time and it was my first time going to here to here, so I didn't. Expect much. My son went to the barber. Brandon was cutting his hair he was my friend, so I expected him to do my son's hair good. Later when we got home my son's hair was good but later, he told me. When he accidentally moved his head Brandon said in a threatening way "Stop moving I'm trying to cut your hair" I was shocked Brandon is still my friend I have not confronted him about because I think it's not that big of a deal. A few years go by, and I went back to the barber shop because I was in a rush and my actual barber far away. We got there and I thought Brandon was going. To cut my son's hair but it was a different one after we were done and walked out the store. My son told me he was very rude my son said the barber told him when he moved his head the barber told him. "Look you're a big a*s kid stop moving" I was angry. And my other son said that he was rude to him too the barber asked "Where's your Daddy and your brother" my son responded. I don't know who the barber was but my boyfriend asked him why he was being so rude to my son and he literally tried to fight my boyfriend. Bro barely gave any care when cutting my hair and messed up my fade and the top of my hair he didn't even pull scissors out and tried to cut the whole thing with clippers resulting in my hair being super choppy. This was my first time as a patron of this establishment, and I had been looking for a new barber because of location and distance from my home and business. KevTheBarber greeted me upon walking in the door and asked if I was looking for anyone in particular - if not, he or someone would be with me right away. And although they were really busy, I found the wait time to be very reasonable. Kev called me back, asked me what style I was looking for, and gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Chris does a perfect job cutting my hair the way I like it every time. I started cutting my own hair back in 2000 because no matter where I went, no one could cut it the way I liked, probably because I have super coarse hair that grows in all different directions. I usually do a fade on my own that takes me anywhere from 45 min to an hour to get right. I've probably tried 3 or 4 times to get it cut from different people over the last 16 years, with no success. Every time I would have to go back and fix it which would be a complete waste of money. When I found His & Hers, my first cut was by Chris and have gone back to him every time. Saves me time, is worth the money, and I leave completely satisfied about my haircut. 5 stars for sure! read more
