I'm usually a "leave me alone while I shop" kind of girl, but I do appreciate being acknowledged when walking in an area. Nordstrom does this well in a casual, non-overbearing way. In the Men's section, I found a couple nice pairs of AG jeans and shirt for the husband that I thought he should try on. As we approached the dressing room with another couple, two sales associates appeared to assist. Randy was ours. I sat on a small couch inside the dressing room. As my husband came out to show me the fit of each item, Randy would come in to check if we needed anything. As we exited the dressing room, he was there to take our items for purchase and put back the ones we didn't want. We browsed some more, then made our way back to the register -- Randy was right behind us. I didn't have my Nordstrom card with me. Randy walked me through the steps of securely accessing my account without the faintest sign of inconvenience. This young man was impressively knowledgeable, patient and friendly. He provided just the right amount of personal service.

Checked out the deals they had and was helped by a sales rep to choose everything I needed. Also got measured to get my suit tailored. It was supposed to be ready by Thursday but was called since it was pushed back to Friday. While it didn't bother me since I needed it for Saturday, I did pay the extra fee to get it sooner. Wish the tailoring cheaper was cheaper but it's understandable. This is l owe by home, so I may come back and hopefully not have to pay the extra fees.

I returned with my receipt, hoping for a straightforward exchange. Unfortunately, I was assisted by the manager on duty, Tyler (I wasn't given his last name). While I fully understand that return policies have fine print, I was shocked by his approach. Tyler was dismissive from the start, interrupted me several times before I could fully explain the defect, and spoke in a condescending tone that made me feel like I was being unreasonable for even asking. He refused to examine the pants closely or consider that a one-wear item might have a manufacturing flaw. I left without a resolution--not because of the policy, but because the interaction was so unprofessional that I no longer felt comfortable even attempting to negotiate. A useful warning for others: If you buy here, inspect your items carefully and keep all tags, because if a defect shows up later, don't count on management at this location to work with you. Tyler sets a very unwelcoming, rigid tone that completely undermines the brand's usual reputation for service. The Westfield Topanga mall actually has a huge indoor mall and an outside village area with another…read more50 shops or so. It is beautiful and has a lot of upscale stores, two food courts, and lots of specialty stores as well. It has a Nordstrom and Macy's. I believe the Neiman Marcus store closed. They feature places like Balenciaga, Prada, Gucci, and Boss, and have shops like Honey Birdette and Laderach chocolates. The mall is really beautiful with a lot of indoor lighting and is mostly two levels, but has a movie theater on a third level. We did not make it to the village across the street, but it is supposed to be really nice as well. This is a top mall in SoCal and worth checking out even if you just want to get some exercise and shop. We ate at the massis kabob for lunch. Great gyros plates. I believe the main food court is being renovated and some of the eateries closed, but like I mentioned earlier they added an additional food court. Very impressive mall. 5 star mall all the way.
