I've brought HipPops for work events and I've also had them while hanging out at Dania beach, and every time they are out of this world. I love their vegan options and variety of flavors and toppings. Usually I go for their oreo pop with milk chocolate and oreo toppings - you can't go wrong. But I've also ventured out and tried the vanilla vegan with dark chocolate topping and the toasted pistachio - wow talk about an amazing combination. Great food truck dessert option. I follow them on facebook and they we at my neighborhood park tonight. Very simple concept. Pick you pop and they have sorbet, gelato, and icecream pops. Then pick your chocolate dip. White chocolate, Milk chocolate, or semisweet. Lastly you pick 2 toppings. They easily have 15 or more fresh toppings. Great variety. I went with an Oreo gelato pop that had a whole oreo inside it. I got it dipped in semi sweet chocolate with crushed almonds and oreo pieces sprinkled on as my 2 toppings. I am not a big dessert person but I loved this as a special treat. The price was about $6 a pop and as a treat, it was well worth it. The guy in the truck was very nice and not a creepy ice cream truck guy. I hope they come back to my neighborhood park again. read more

I went to the Amacoa food truck night in Jupiter and saw HipPop's food truck there. I ordered the Oreo pop dipped in milk chocolate with Oreo pieces on it and my friend ordered the coconut pop with white chocolate and coconut. They were both delicious but mine was obviously better. Service was fast and and the vibes were good. I'd def buy another next time I'' there. read more

Cute concept, dessert food truck. To start off with- I'm not sure why this food truck has ONE $, because for what you receive, it's expensive. I ordered a margarita boozy pop, it was the length of my pinky finger and was $4!!! Despite it being overpriced, the margarita popsicle has pretty good flavor. Didn't taste any alcohol in it, but I'll assume it was there. Another negative was my pop had lime rinds in it!! I understand it's a unique "concept", line rinds in a margarita pop, but they were not edible. And there were a lot of them. I know they offer several different dessert items, and I would be open to trying another popsicle (maybe dipped in chocolate), or a shake, but wouldn't run back to this truck by any means. Saw this company on The Profit a few years back and finally got to visit their truck outside my complex this weekend. Everything was super tasty and loved the ability to customize most everything. Also ordered their godfather (not pictured) but it looked and smelled amazing as I sent it home with my mil. I tried hip pops a while back at their weekly Plantation food truck event and had the opportunity recently to try them again at another food truck event. Their pops are made from either gelato, sorbet or yogurt. You can choose if you would like your pop drizzled, half dipped or full dipped in (dark, milk or white) chocolate. Then you can add a variety of toppings from a variety of nuts, sprinkles, coconut flakes, pretzels, Oreo cookies, etc. You can also opt to make your pop into a smoothie. I ordered the mango with coconut flakes. Nice little chunks of sweet mango that paired lovely with the coconut flakes. Great tropical flavor combination on a hot Florida day. The great thing about there pops is their not only delicious & refreshing but you can come up with endless combinations/variations. So what do you do when you want to serve ice cream to up to 1,000 people in a couple of hours? Call HipPOPS! These ladies came into our breakroom and set up the line. First select from the list of gelato pops, then pick a dip and last a topping. there was much to chose from but my company brought the choices to several so it wasn't overwhelming. The ladies approached our long line with humor and patience as the line seemed to go on forever. Don't even question the taste... it was delicious. I would love to find them again. Enjoy! read more

After seeing the weekly Yelp recently regarding Food Trucks, I realized that I haven't reviewed one before, at least not that I recall. But I do recall HipPOP's early years! I remember looking forward to seeing them on Thursdays at the University of Miami back in my college years-- just so you know, I was never a student there. Just a frequent visitor to see friends on campus and help coach a local dance troupe, so yes I paid for parking, and for sure it's worth it for HipPOP. Fast forward to present-day, I see them on Mondays at Arts Park in Hollywood, and they are my go-to truck for dessert! I love the concept of gelato or sorbet on a stick that's dipped with chocolate and covered in your topping of choice -- all for only five bucks! My favorite flavors are Pistachio, Oreo, Banana, and one spicy chocolate flavor that's been discontinued (it was less spicier than their current spicy chocolate flavor). I usually have them covered or drizzled in dark chocolate and topped with hazelnuts or oreos (and if I feel like it, I get half and half). Amazing to have on a nice warm day, especially in SoFlo. They also have yogurt and sorbet but seriously stick to the gelato it's that rich, creamy and decadent! They have many flavors such as chocolate, vanilla bean, mint, pistachio etc! So I got gianduia flavored, which is a mixture of chocolate and hazelnut. Amazing choice if I can say so myself! Second step: I went all out by getting my gelato dipped in milk chocolate! If you are treating yourself, I recommend you getting it dipped and lastly I got my gelato popped by adding the hazelnut chucks at the end which were caramelized!!!!! Yummmmm: it was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Hippops truck has their schedule on their website so you can locate where they will be in south FL for that particular day. These pops are soooo good with countless flavor combinations bound to satisfy any craving! We visited this truck at heritage park in plantation. They have food trucks there every Tuesday night. I got the salted caramel dipped in milk chocolate and coated in crushed Reese's cups. My sister tried the cheesecake dipped in white chocolate and Oreos. The cheesecake base was really good quality. The woman working there was patient and helpful. My only complaint is that the portions are way too big to eat in one sitting without feeling sick and if you got a gelato base you can't really take it home with you for later. I would rather have a slightly smaller pop for a fraction of the price and not feel overwhelmed or like I have to waste it. For sure need to get these again. read more

If you have never been here - the gist is - they take traditional pops - and go ape s*** with them. HipPOPs has been a staple in the South Florida food truck scene for a while now and really the only of it's kind (that I know of) down here. The service is always great and you will identify them as the truck with the biggest line at almost every food truck meet up. But, give it a shot...the wait in line is totally worth it. So what exactly do the do? They get delicious flavors of gelato bars, dip them in chocolate, then dip them in whatever toppings you want. The combinations are endless, and pretty much everything works together. For the most part I've almost always gotten the hazelnut gelato with various toppings. A few times with milk chocolate and candied hazelnuts (AMAZING), a few times with white chocolate and crushed almonds (AMAZING). With all the other combinations - I will try something new in the future, but it's hard to stray from my true love - hazelnut. They have pop flavors like Mexican Chocolate Chipotle and Pistachio (the wife's favorite!) and sorbet flavors as well like Mango and Grapefruit. Is there anyone who doesn't love HipPOPS???...ok so maybe I wasn't the biggest fan the first time I tried them, but turns out I just ordered the wrong combo (plain pear) and since then I've been in love. Steven's go-to is the pistachio pop dipped in milk chocolate and then dipped in crushed pistachio. I must say he's created a winner here cause I don't even whine when he orders it over and over again and never tries something new. I figured it was better to avoid the fruit based bars and stick to the creamier flavors but I've since tried another fruity bar (it was purple so something berry?) and it was amazing!! I happened to spot two food trucks while I was driving on 441, so I decided to stop by and see what they were. I hadn't heard of HipPOPS before... turns out they're fairly new. The owner was very friendly, and explained the different flavors, dips and toppings. He won me over when he said they had hazelnut (nutella is my kryptonite). I got it dipped in milk chocolate and topped with crushed hazelnuts, costing me a very well-spent $5. Oh man. This was one of the tastiest things I've eaten in a long, long time. It tasted exactly like nutella, and on a hot day, this cold treat was perfect. I very well could become addicted to these. Glad to see a 954-based truck, and up in my neck of the woods! Of course who wouldn't be hooked on a delicious gelato popsicle that you can get dipped in chocolate and then rolled in all different kinds of topping goodness? My friends and I ran across the Hip Pops truck at Wynwood Art Walk and were immediately very excited. Gelato bars that you can customize with flavors and toppings?! Yes please! There are a perfect amount of gelato/yogurt/sorbet flavors and topping choices -- enough for some variety but not too many that you can't decide. I chose pistachio gelato with dark chocolate dip and crushed pistachios as popping. IT WAS DELICIOUS! My friends had naked lemon sorbet, naked mango sorbet, and original tart yogurt with milk chocolate. Everyone absolutely loved their choices. The lemon sorbet had mint and lemon zest in it... it wasn't like that artificial sorbet you buy in a drugstore. The bars are a really good size... we all ate our own and loved them, but agreed that if we had not been as hungry, we could have split a chocolatey one (mine was super rich... yum). The prices are on-target too. I would definitely seek out the Hip Pops truck at another event and I am keeping them in the back of my mind in case of an event, as they do catering. I have been a loyal pop-lover for many moons. This is more than just a food truck people. Grand PopMaster Tony and his family are always a welcomed site at any food truck event. My all time favorite and go-to pop is the passion fruit flavor, naked (i.e. no toppings)! I always get the pops naked because they're delicious just the way they are. The Nutella and mango flavors come in at a close second for me.
