Sharing in hopes they'll be able to use this as constructive feedback! I came in on a Saturday around noon to pick up a box of donuts for a friend's birthday. The mochi donuts are all sitting out in the open next to the register, so whatever was out was the selection left. Unfortunately as they were moving them up from the tray into the box, a few did get tossed around and ended up looking messy. They use the same chopstick to pick up each donut, so some also ended up with bits of frostings from different donuts all over them. Not ideal (since it was going to be a gift), but also not a big deal. I was most disappointed that when I gifted it to my friend and we tried the donuts, we tried them just two hours after purchasing and they were pretty dense and stale. Additionally, they had a really peculiar taste- it was reminiscent of the cleaning solution that a lot of local boba shops use. Remembering that they were sitting out in the open in the front of the store, it made me wonder if some of the fumes had somehow sunken into the donuts or if the cleaner could have gotten sprayed on it as they were cleaning. Maybe it was just bad luck on my end, but I'd recommend going as early as possible in the day to make sure the donuts are fresh and contaminant free.
