I needed specific tires for my Electric Vehicle. I went in at 7:30 in the morning and told Minas what I was looking for. He gave me a quote for tires, mounted and balanced for a total price. I had researched online for the tires I wanted, and he beat the online price. He told me he didn't have the tires in stock which didn't surprise me, as EV tires are specialized. He said if he put the order in he could possibly have them by 3-4 that afternoon. He called me when the tires showed up and 44 minutes later I had my new tires on my vehicle. I've used this shop many times over the past 30 years, usually out of necessity. The staff and owner have always been somewhat rude and dismissive, but it has gotten so much worse. My advice is you try the Tire Store in San Luis Obispo. Their service and attitude are excellent and they are quick. This tire shop was so welcoming. I came in from out of town as my tire lights came on in the car, for me scary seeing this red light. I walked in and had a smile and a nice hello on how can I help you. Wow, did they ever, they had me pull up no waiting and they filled my tires and reset the dash and didn't even require a payment. I was on my way down from Monterey Bay and my Low Tire Pressure alert started going off. I saw the high ratings for Hinsons and knew I had to go. Auto and Tire shops sometimes intimidate me, as a woman, but everyone I had an interaction with was great and helpful! Great service - had a slow leak and within 45 minutes they had it fixed. Would have normally been much more expensive up in the bay area.

Went in for a low tire and they fixed it plus a free rotation, all done in less than 20 min. The mechanic even took the time to properly torque the lug nuts to the right spec., which is a nice touch that I'm not used to. I usually have to do that myself. Highly recommend, will go back there for all tire needs plus oil changes. read more

My old Highlander needed it's 4th set of tires and I wanted good quality and super safe driving all-weather skins for it. So I looked online and discovered that the Yokohama Geolanders were getting great reviews from other Highlander owners. I tried Tire Rack.com but it's just too much hassle for me so I decided to try the local spot I've driven past so many times. Hinsons Tire Pros were only $60 more than tirerack and they responded right away to my online price quote request so I gave them the job. They installed the new tires while I waited, did a great job on the alignment and wheel balance, and could not be more helpful, courteous and friendly. Had a flat on Hwy 1 going towards Big Sur and no cell reception! Luckily, a local let me use their phone to call AAA who helped us put our spare tire on and told us what tire shops were close by. Drove back towards Morro Bay to Hinsons Tire. Got 2 front new tires placed and were the last customer before they closed shop. Great service!!! Their in the tyre business, they sell tyres, they mount and install the tyre, you drive off into the sunset. Sound too perfect? This was my experience today, the motorbike trailer wore tyres that were ten years old. I couldn't risk a blow out at freeway speed and dumping two bikes to save $180. I called, they check inventory had a couple that would fit, quoted me, and the "no rush" job was done in a couple hours.
