Unfortunately, I ordered a suit offline and it didn't make it in until two days before the occasion. However, I stopped in just to see what could be done. I was in a bind! I needed a suit coat taken in and needed it done the same day. I was flying in from Atlanta asked for recommendations and Hines Reweaving and Alterations came highly recommended. So I called and spoke with Ms. Hines and let her know that I landed in Memphis at 2pm and needed a suit coat taken in and I needed it by 4 the next day. She said bring it on! She was super nice and very knowledgeable and her assistant was just as nice. They took great care of me and my jacket. I needed to have 4 sports jackets altered and they all required more than one area altered. I drop the jackets off on a Thursday and picked them up the following Thursday. They put them in a cleaning bag at pickup and I didn't notice anything wrong except a couple of them were very wrinkled in the back and Ms Hines told me to have them pressed by a cleaners and the wrinkles would go away. I was appalled when I got jackets home and took them out of the bag. There were hims hanging in different places on all 4 of them. I took them back to Hines and they admitted to their mistakes and offered to fix them. 2 hours later I came back and they had made the necessary corrections, however I got home and noticed on two of the jackets the cuff on the sleeve is uneven and the Jackets don't really fit right-they did something to back where the collars bulge out in the back. Ms Hines gave me 1/2 of my money back but I am still out $350.00 because the Jackets are now unwearable. I had to give them to the Salvation Army and purchase new Sport Jackets. Ms. Hines and Glenda SAVED ME! I was flying in from Los Angeles and needed some last-minute alterations. And mind you it was not a small task, I was turned away from tailors in my neighborhood and had a few in the Memphis area that it wasn't possible. But Ms. Hines assured me she could alter my bridesmaid's dress that SAME DAY! This dress was not zipping bc I ordered a size too small. But I was able to drop off the dress that morning and have it ready by the end of the work day on a holiday weekend! And on top of incredible service and quick turnaround, they were so sweet and hospitable and made me feel at ease that things would work out. I got the dress back that evening and it was PERFECT. I didn't even need to wear shapewear, it fit like a glove! Ms. Hines even checked in with me after the event to make sure everything went well and to wish a safe travels back home. If I could send all my pieces to get tailored by them, I would. That was some of the best customer service I have ever received. We moved downtown last year. When our son came home from college for Christmas break, he needed alterations to the shoulders and back of two Blazers he got as gifts, to give him the tailored look he was looking for. We try to support local downtown businesses so we went to Hines R&A on a recommendation. Ms. Hines and Glenda promised they would stand behind their work and that's exactly what they did. It took a a little re-work and extra time to get it right, but it was worth it. He had to go back to school before they were finally ready, so I ended up shipping them to him in Fayetteville AK (That's the only reason I gave 4 vs. 5 stars) His response says it all.... I found a unicorn! Ms. Hines is truly a world-class seamstress. I needed to have two suits completely redone, pants and coat (you know, because the dry cleaners ran them too hot and shrunk them). She altered the shoulder width, sleeve length, hips, waist, and cuff, and I honestly can't find a flaw. The only minor faults I could find is that she is somewhat expensive (worth every penny) and it takes a few weeks (worth it). Thank you Ms. Hines! read more

I was visiting Memphis for a few days and purchased 2 jeans from the Peabody/Lansky boutique and they told me that they could have it hemmed and sent back same day. Great! That is what happened. Awesome, right? Until I took them to my room and realized that not only were they crooked - one side shorter than the other - but they were the shoddiest job of hemming ever done! They rolled and hemmed it and they were double stitched with blue thread to hide that they didn't cut it. Can't explain, but it was a super lazy way to do the job! No wonder it was quick! I went back to the boutique to remedy it and they said they would have it sent back, but it would take 2 weeks for them to fix it, because they would send it elsewhere. Well, that wouldn't work because I was leaving in 2 days.At this point, Peabody/Lansky couldn't return or exchange the jeans, but the best they could do was refund the amount I paid for the alteration, which was $12 for each totally approximately $26 including taxes. Had them redone when I returned home and couldn't be happier and more grateful that the woman knew how to fix it! Lesson learned: Be very careful and specific when you request items to be altered from another location. read more
