One of the more popular restaurants at Dreams resort. We stopped by for a late dinner on our last night in Puerta Vallarta. This Pan Asian/Japanese restaurant serves a variety of fresh dishes albeit not authentic. With that said, it's fairly good pan-Asian in Mexico. Service was excellent and attentive. The decor and ambiance charming and elegant.

We had a really good meal here and were lucky enough to get a reservation at the hibachi station so that we could enjoy the show! If you do the hibachi, you are going to get a set menu (sushi rolls, miso soup, rice, veggies, chicken, steak & shrimp along with a dessert)! It's a lot of food, and it was all so good. The chef we had was excellent and made the station fun! I felt so bad though because it was SO HOT inside and I cannot even imagine how hot he must have been with the heat from the grill. But he did great and cooked the food to perfection! I enjoyed the rice and veggies so much! Not to mention toe flavor on the shrimp was amazing! The servers we had were also helpful and made sure to keep our drinks full and they took good care of us throughout the evening. The only reason I am giving a 4 star is because it really was just too hot to truly be able to enjoy the meal; it's so hard for me to eat when I am hot. Thankfully, the ice cream dessert helped to cool me off.

The Japanese food is very unique but not authentic. I tried their sashimi and the color seemed to be slight off but I didn't get sick. So I guess that was ok. The rolls were not bad but not wow either. It does take a while for them to bring the food over. Service was ok. Just a bit slow. I also tried the spring rolls here. Bad mistake. The skin was too thick. It was big and filling. I had the curry mahi fish and it was over cooked. Better to stick with the sushi and sashimi. Only complain is that they cut the sashimi paper thin and still it was not cut properly.

This restaurant is located at the Dreams hotel. A reservation is needed for the hibachi grill. When we had made a reservation with the concierge, they didn't ask us how many people (they assumed two), so we forgot to tell them we had 5 people in our party. We ended up eating at the regular restaurant. It was close to closing so they had run out of salmon sashimi. We got the tuna sashimi (nice, large pieces), the pad thai (kinda spicy), the king pao chicken (nothing special) and the fried rice (tasty, but really salty and barely had any shrimp and was a small portion).

Killer design of a restaurant! Although most of the plants were fake didn't deter me from loving the ambiance. Service was quick and attentive, wasn't super hungry so didn't order a lot. The Asian fusion style was interesting, the rolls were a bit sad. Didn't see anyone doing the hibachi/teppanyaki on the far side of the entrance and was curious how well they did it. Maybe next time For sure would return and try other items when famished. Fun place with a cool vibe about it!

Himitsu is the Japanese Asian Fusion style restaurant located in the Now Resort, next door to the Secrets Resort. There are two types of seating for this restaurant, walk in or making a reservation for the Benihana type grill table. There are limited seats for the grill table, so make sure to book ahead. The first dinner we had, we ordered a variety of appetizers and sushi rolls to share. We has a tempura shrimp, the spicy tuna, thai beef salad, gyoza and tiradito. On my birthday, we had a reservation for the grill. My guy pre-ordered and paid for a bottle of wine, which the guy next to us assumed was free and started drinking our wine. We tried to explain that it was our bottle, but he ignored us and wasn't worth fighting over. Service was great and the selection of fish was incredibly fresh and full of flavor.

There is good and bad about this resultant. I'm gonna talk about the pros and the cons of this restaurant. Pros: kids are welcomed, nice presentation, quick service, friendly staff, and the shrimp was great. The fried ice cream is what really saved the review and got the 3rd star. Cons: the chefs are inexperienced and our chef even cooked part of an egg shell into the fried rice. The fried rice is both burned while cooked and under cooked while prepped. So be prepared for crunchy rice. The vegetables are pretty bland, the sushi is gross and looks like it was taken from the lunch buffet. I didn't order the beef but I tried a piece and like most restaurants on the property the beef is slightly undercooked.

Of all the restaurants at this resort (Secrets Vallarta Bay) - this is by far the best one for overall experience. Food presentation is well put together Taste - 3 stars I ordered the Peking Duck Wrap - came back another night just for this - 4.5* Tom Yum soup - just a soup base with a splash of soy sauce, a few chili flakes, shrimp and glass noodles. Not bad but not the authentic real deal obviously - 4.5* Miso Soup - big chunks of shitake mushrooms and seaweed. Same soup base as tom yum minus the chili - 4.5 stars Shrimp dumpling - 0* not worth it, wrappers way too soggy and shrimp was undercooked Shrimp and pork gyoza - 0* not worth it, they were shy on the panfry so therefore the dumplings looked more steamed than fried. Same look as the shrimp dumpling except pork was added. Pad thai - good presentation - super salty but good if you like it. Its more of a chow mein with wide rice noodles than pad thai - 4* California roll and sashimi - good presentation but the sashimi is always warm. Try it but eat it first as it quickly becomes room temperature. Tepanyaki - good presentation and experience. Everything doused in soy sauce. 4* My ratings are based on the Mexican way of cooking Japanese/Asian fusion. It has nothing to do with the actual taste of authenticity. This would be my first choice and would return at least one more time during my stay. Oh and of course, Service - 5*

I ordered off of the restaurant week menu while my SO opted to order off of the regular one. He started with the calamari, which was quite good. Nice and light breading and not overcooked. We sampled the papaya salad (one of the best I've ever tasted), coconut fried rice with yellow curry, drunken noodles with shrimp and mango sticky rice. This was my first time trying mango sticky rice and I'm glad I did it here because Mexico has such excellent mangos. It was fantastic and is now a new favorite. The curry rice was also delicious but for me, was a lot of food, which is not a bad thing. A great value actually since I got three meals out of it! They also serve margaritas by the pitcher, which is literally illegal in the ridiculous state we are from so we were very excited at this option. The full pitcher was a bit much for 2 but my friends, not to worry! They do a half pitcher!!! Our server was so nice and did a great job. Food came out very quickly as well. We had a great time at Archie's Wok and it has been added to our list of musts when in PV.

Today is day 14 for us, wanted something different and I wasn't too sure what to expect. Just off…read morethe beach, this is a really chill place. I ordered take out since the wife wanted to stay in. Pork egg rolls, Mongolian curry beef, almond chicken and fried rice. I had a lemonade while I was waiting. Everything was packaged well (lids taped on, sauce servings with lids, wrapped in cling film. The food was tasty. While I was not much more than 5 minutes back to the hotel, the egg rolls were soggy. The sweet and sour sauce for them was very good, great flavor and not overly thick. I asked for the curry to be hot, but not too hot, it was pretty mild. Definitely worth giving it a shot when you're looking to switch things up. Like most of PV, it was good and it was spendy (about 1,400 MXD for 2 mains, combination fried rice and 3 pork egg rolls + 1 lemonade).
